Hey Darryl - were you going to post updated photos?

Hi Geoff - the only people I know currently doing black plastic is ATA (SuperTrooper) & CAP-W (Scootch). Both are HIPS. You can ping Deckard or TrooperMaster to see if AM is willing to pull black ABS - so far I don't believe they are. FX molds are retired, so if you see any and it's not a personal suit check to see if it's recast (as it probably is).

There is a difference between "accuracy" and EIB requirements. The EIB is not intended to be the end all-be all of accuracy. It's meant to be a step above Legion standards but not so high that it's excessively hard to obtain. For now the EIB just states that you need the d-ring, any other mods to make it more screen accurate are up to you. Perhaps when we have 50 ESB EIB and it's become too easy to get we'll up the standards, but with only 10 so far I don't see the standard becoming more stringent anytime soon. NOTE: If you look at the EIB for ESB at ----------you'll see that there are some 'should' and 'may' have items. 'should' should capture the film canon version, 'may' is the promo version. If there are other details that should be captured in the 'should' part of it please remind us of the thread/post where these are captured and it should be an easy add to the docs. So it's out there, the 'should' part of the EIB is for those that really want to take things to the top but otherwise exceed what is needed for EIB. Some day (again, 200+ EIB) we can adopt some of the 'should' for 'must'.

LMK who gets updated on the EIB roster and we'll get 'er done.

I think for most 'trooping' HIPS armor has been fine for me. Parades, standing around, etc. It's when there is heavy action that I worry. Some things I won't try in my TE2 (or any HIPS) that I was fine doing in my FX (ABS). 1. Sitting down on a bench/chair. 2. Playing a few downs of football against Biker Scouts 3. Any real running/jumping 4. Strapping my thighs to my ab plate To me it's really the ab plate / butt plate that I worry about and the only two pieces that have ever torn (two ab plates). In hindsight if I had coated the inside with something that would prevent tearing or if the ab plate was thicker HIPS then I'd be more willing to be aggressive with the TE2. However given how cheap replacement ab plates are, one could argue that in hindsight I should just have bought a spare or two in advance as well. It's a small thing to swap out really.

I like Stuka's solution better. My experience is that just having the garter is that it tends to slip down, thus my thighs slip down too. On my old FX I attached the straps directly to the ab plate which was held up by suspenders, which worked a treat. However while this was great for ABS armor I'm loathe to try it on the TE2 (or any HIPS) as I'm not sure it can take the strain. I've also tried elastic vs. strap and prefer elastic as it allows a bit of flex and reduces strain on the parts when you move. EDIT: God Billy, it's wonderful having you back!!
