  1. Is this where we guess how many screws or parts you have left over when you put it back together?
  2. Good idea - Is that similar to basic hairspray? I hear a lot of people using hairspray to protect drawings If we're going to start a guessing game, my entry is an iComm thingy - the white plastic square could be what mounts it to the inside of the chest/armor.
  3. Any of the sellers on this forum, or trooperbay.com will have all that. For compression , my first online order didn't fit too well, so I went with 2 piece compression set from Kmart.
  4. Thanks guys. New snaps and a snap tool on order. I've had two batces of snaps fail on me, therefore no recent progress. Hopefully more to report soon.... Andrew - message "MTK" directly here, or message me and I'll give you some details. Price and turnaround time (2 days) were big selling points for me.
  5. A few threads come up when you search ----------. Armor should be fine, the helmet doesn't get much rap though.
  6. Ok, 1/16 does look better.
  7. I think you need to do what it takes for the armor to fit you. Is that armor on you or a mannequin above? If you have cut that to your body size already, it looks like the two halves need to come together another 2 or 3 inches. Is that right? Based on below, other screen shots and all the EIB/Centurion applications, the butt should line up around equal to the kidney. Some suits have that little check-out, some don't. So, if that picture above IS you, then you'll possibly need to cut an awful lot more off otherwise the butt will end up sticking out past your stomach. As Bryan said, leaving a bit of fat to play with wouldn't hurt. I haven't got that far yet, so that is only my opinion based on my research, not first hand knowledge.
  8. Haha, we'll let you off then
  9. Appreciate the offer Aaron, but it wouldn't be worth our time or efforts for a foot long piece of bar. And I don't think your thicker stuff looked too bad anyway . Tim's has also come up good using 1/8, and my 3mm will be slightly thinner than that. Thanks again.
  10. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/STORMTROOPER-E-11-COMPLETE-ANH-E-11-BLASTER-KIT-OFFER-/291035349003?pt=UK_ToysGames_ActionFigures_ActionFigures_JN&hash=item43c30f000b - Plenty available. You just have to go to the UK ebay site I've got my new kit coming from DVH. Check out DarthVoorhees for sale threads. $75- kit form or $175 built (I think, don't quote me). And it comes black! Hey Tim, maybe I won't have to paint it at all
  11. Wise words above. You've already answered yourself here - basically levels of accuracy and detail. Troopergear? I haven't heard of them, or are they one of the guys selling NE armor?
  12. Nice work Aaron. I'm sure you got your feet shuffling on the dance floor! Hmmm, 1/16 flat bar. (= 1.58mm) Most of our stuff is metric here, so either 1mm or 3mm. 1mm will definately be too thin. Might have to hunt around specialist steel places for imperial measurment stuff, or 2mm. Nice that you could hide the bracke inside the ounter now.
  13. Yes, for basic approval. No for EIB and centurion. Plenty of topics about it in the search function. Check this thread for some detail pics http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/25773-sds-shepperton-design-studio-e-11-blaster-photo-report/?hl=%2Bsds+%2Bblaster That's a lot of money for not a lot of blaster. You'd be much better off with a £38 doopy kit, some glue and a tin of paint.
  14. No doubt you'll do some test painting with the clear coat, but the Matt clear I had for my hasbro conversion did give a semi sheen to it. Other brands might not.....
  15. You're on the right page Tim. Remember we're on a Star Wars forum, not a WWII military forum.
  16. No problem there. That will get covered by the ear anyway. Good luck. I'm building my MTK too, although have hit a snag with failing snaps..... @Batphobic - get a build happening NOW so we can join you on your journey!
  17. You could mix up some ABS paste. Cut some fine strips/filings off some existing ABS and mix with acetone. After a while it turns to paste that you can use to fill small holes/cracks in armor, etc. Oh, is your armor ABS?
  18. Looking nice Aaron. Nearly paint time? Is your scope off centre, or just the scope feet off centre to the scope?
  19. If they have to specifically say it is NOT something, then chances are it is. You've done well to find the FISD, there's plenty of excellent sellers here.
  20. Most people just go for cheap boots and paint them these days, due to TK being out constantly. As long as you get the right design. There's one supplier in the for sale section that is a little more expensive (edit, looks like hubby just found them). I'm about to paint my cheapo rubber boots!
  21. Are you sure your OCD wife could cope with you having 'dirty' armor? I know some parts (shoulder straps, knee, ab, helmet) are different. Certainly not impossible, but would it be easier to decide which way to go first and stick to the one style.
  22. Congrats. Nice TK reference.
  23. I thought the m19s might be cheaper than the m38s. A 19 just went on ebay for £180- (about $300)! But a 38a2 went for only $51. One day......
  24. Thanks Glen. I was looking for that picture but couldn't find it
