If you're not going to be doing a lot of soldering, I've heard good things about those fast cool irons. I've seen those at walmart for like $20.

When life hands you lemons, you punch life in the face and steal his wallet. It might take more work, but if you put the blood sweat and tears into putting it together, it'll be a piece of you. The parts might not come from the best source, but in the end thats really immaterial. Whats done is done, so you might as well work with what you've got.

I really would refrain from using black, thats going to be really difficult to work with and likely show.

Um for the record, Shadow troopers aka Blackhole Troopers have been around since the 70s newspaper strips.

I've had someone recommend that to me as well, but since I saw how big the thing is I said no way is my armor going to fit. Without the helmet would make sense, what do you do with yours then? Carry on?

I've been reading the book, and I can't wait to see Captain Rex in full badassness. I have a feeling we'll be seeing lots of costumes of him in the near future. Just watch.

Satin black, I guess. Or just buy a set of accurate hovi tips from Stomper. They're a nice upgrade to the crappy hose parts you get with the FX.

They have a tentative date, not a set date. Thats why it keeps changing depending on who you ask.

Just because they call them stormtroopers doesn't mean they have "classic" armor. My guess is that once Palpy takes complete control, he changes the armed forces around and they're now called stormtroopers.

I guess the important first step is to define which MR helmet you have. Is it the LE or the standard edition. There are big differences between the two, but the MR LE and the EFX are more or less the same.

no it hasn't been painted. trying to cover up a little bit of plastic weld thats showing.

Anyone have any suggestions for a good brand of paint for touching up white ABS? Looking for something brushable of course. I've got some small glue spots that need a little "love".

Actually, I've been tossing around the idea of building a reference website, starting with TK's and eventually moving through all the different styles of costume. Its something I'd like to do, but I can't work on it until I get my damn armor done, which at the pace I'm working at will be sometime in the next decade.
