Got my helm today and will soon begin the modifications. What is used for filling in the gap on the frown? I think i heard mention of silicone, but the most popular thing for filling anything on this stuff seems to be bondo. Also when replacing the lenses, did you rescrew them in or just glue em on?

this is just my 2 cents, but it looks like your thighs may be a little low. Adding just a little space between the shin and thigh pieces i think would improve the image. Im no expert though, my armor aint even complete yet.

Can these humbrol or testers paints be found at the local home depot or sherman williams, or do i need to go to a hobby shop for them?

After a lot of searching both on here and the 501st page, i can not find what costume specifics are required for 501st membership. The 501st membership page just says something to the effect of owning a star wars bad guy outfit, but contains no specifics as to what quality standards and little nit picks. So have i just missed it somewhere? Do specific guidelines really exist or is it really as simple as gluing something together that looks relatively close to a stormtrooper?

I am personally having trouble with gluing the thigh strip. There is very little contact area so im having trouble getting the glue to take. Also what method did you use? I have already tried and faield twice at gluing this thing on. Should i glue one end, wait for the glue to set then bend it and glue the other or what? I dont think it will survive another failure.

So the bottom line im getting here is that the helmet will work, without having to take the whole thing apart and putting it back together? If that is so then i think i have found my helmet.

would the bubble lenses from my fx kit work? What about the tube stickers from the kit?

THe tube stripes, does the color just need to be changed or what? Reading the standards on the FISD page i see no mention of the screws either, also what needs to be changed about the lenses?

After spending much time toying around and messing with all the parts of my FX helmet, i have decided that it is entirely too much work to go through reshaping and trimming half the pieces just to put together a helmet that i will very likely have to one day replace. In looking at my other options for helmets, the Master Replicas Collectors Edition helmet has great appeal to me, largely do to its affordability. I have one question about it. Getting my armor complete and getting into the 501st is my main concern right now, and I know there are several mods that people perform on the things and that certain mods are necessary for elite status, however is the helmet good enough to gain entry into the 501st without any mods or redo's? and if not, what are the necessary mods that need to be made?

At 6'2 im sitting comfortably in the middle of the height recomendation for the armor, hopefully i should be alright

Redid the velcro in white, it helped but i still dont like the size of the gap it leaves. My hand can squeeze through with it just glued but i figured id better just use the velcro for now incase they get bigger some how. The velcro will come off, the glue not so sure about, will post another picture when my camera charges. Thanks for all your help guys.
