  1. I've got a bolt basically built. The paint is drying now. I've got 17 or so pictures uploaded on photobucket for sharing here. You fine people will be seeing them soon!! Hopefully I've only got two more updates left to be finished. I am having some difficulty getting the counter numbers that SIMpixels sent to me to print correctly, so that's the hang-up there. Almost done, and less than 48 hours till the big brown boxes are supposed to arrive!!
  2. I think you'll be just fine, Kyle. Ask questions, no matter how odd or silly they may seem, and as Ian said, you don't need snaps for the blaster. Good luck, and the most important part of all of this, have fun!!!
  3. Looking good, Chris. I've built one for my son too. I agree completely. It was my first build of any armor, and I too learned quite a bit. Great kit, and great job building them, too!
  4. Falling asleep. LoL. I'm just going to let you know: My brass screws... Totally painted.
  5. Just for clarity, if you go and look at my build, I didn't add any pieces to "create" the extractor, Tino did do that though. I merely carved it in with the Dremel. I started with a hole at the far left, and then cut two straight lines off the top and bottom "edges" of the circle, extending forward to the barrel area. Outside of that, I think Aaron's got it covered above.
  6. Looking forward to it, brother!!
  7. Very cool looking projects, Anthony!! That TM kit is beautiful, too... Can't wait to see your progress.
  8. One other thing that I might be noticing - hard to tell for sure in some of the pictures - in the last one at least, it looks as if you only have three teeth cut out on the right side of the helmet. As that helmet is not molded to be a Hero, it should have four teeth cut out on each side of the frown. Good luck with the ears... They are quite a pain in the butt to get that curve cut out properly - but you know that already.
  9. Sorry Derek. LoL The other blaster builds have been really active, too. I managed to miss your update - AGAIN. I'd like to see the other end of your charging handle, actually. I've never really had a good look at the pipe kit before. I don't know why in the hell they didn't mold the entire bolt for the pipe kit. I think that you're probably correct about the alignment of the bolt, based on the diagonal strip. If you are though, then that slot - which looks NOTHING like the brass extractor - as you can clearly see in the photos - must simply be a mark for where the front of the bolt should be hidden by the barrel. What are the issues that you're trying to figure out with the Hengstler?
  10. More ears for me? No... Thank you for the mention of them, but I have a feeling that I'll be ordering another KidKit or two from you over the years. I somehow fail to have faith that my now 2.5 year old will be as careful with the bucket as I will be with mine. LoL No clue as to the destruction level of the currently in-utero little Dark yet.
  11. I've got a gap on the left ear that I'd rather not have, too.
  12. LoL... Lucked out there. I started on the right, and nearly went mad trying to line up the left. I wound up drilling out the right side rivets, and then I had no problem at all. Hope your hand gets healed up. I've done that with the blaster build, too. LoL
  13. Looking good. A word of advice, when you start riveting it together, connect the wearer's left side first. I've got a blue one similar to your pink one and a white one that I built. Great kit, but starting on the left will probably save you a headache or two.
  14. Cool deal, great addition Rick. I wonder if it might be a browser based thing? I've had no problem searching in the past. Good for people to be aware of that though, either way.
  15. Congratulations, Ericia!! Great job on the build!! Get to your EIB submission. All the cool new TKs are doing it! For the record, I noticed your forum name's origin immediately, but didn't make any comments about it. Side note: my boxes arrive on Tuesday the 10th!!
  16. 'Sup, Andrew? Here's a link to a thread from the getting started section that should help you (or anyone else reading along at home) with using the search function to find armor information: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/13617-armor-quick-search-tags/
  17. Greetings Darren, and welcome to the FISD!!! You can't go wrong with RS. As it was mentioned, TrooperMaster is an excellent option for you, too!
  18. Height wise, I'd say yes. Weight wise, I believe he's probably a little on the lighter side of it. Anywho... Looks like you're on the way, Andrew!! Good luck!
  19. Been a while since I've been to this post, but with my armor delivery finally around the corner, I've actually purchased some magnets, and did so based on what I learned here in Kevin's post. So, to pay it forward, I'm sharing the ones that I found on Amazon tonight. Here's the link: ------------- Thanks again, Kevin!!
  20. Congratulations, Diana!!! This seemed inevitable in following your amazing build thread - as Steve mentioned - Way to just dive right in and do your part in the drive to 700! I'm truly hoping to join you before TOO long!
  21. Tino, Looking good, brother! I haven't seen that done with the front sight before, but looking at it, I'd say that it looks quite legitimate to me! Well done. Can't wait to see the final project.
  22. Big Brown Boxes are Imminent - Tuesday, 10 June!!!

  23. Greetings Hedda, and welcome to the FISD!!! You're off to the proper start, as the others have already said! Good luck!
  24. Can't wait to see the update for this!
