As I said... I'm not sure if/where to cut these. I'm going to have no choice but to use wider cover strips than the 15mm ones that were supplied by Rob, at least I believe that right now. There's no way to get my hands through them, and if I flex out my forearms right now, it separates the tape on the sides. They'll just have to be a little bit wider. First one, showing the outside edge of the forearm. Another look at the same forearm. I've aligned the second one at the top, and marked the wrist area with tape where I believe it should probably be cut. I'd love some feedback on them. Here's the second one with the tape near the wrist. Another look at the same one. Here's one more look at the second one. I'll probably make myself stop making that face while my wife takes the pictures for me, eventually. LoL (big thank you to her though, for doing so.) So yeah... First-cutitis has set in for me. I've looked at so many reference photos, and read so many build threads trying to figure this out, but since this is the first bit of cutting that I have to do, yeah... I just can't go "Okay... Cut HERE!" Thanks for understanding. EDIT: Another picture showing both of them, side by side, close-up.

Just a few pictures of the bicep build. This was pretty simple, because they fit. No cutting necessary yet - outside of cover strips. A look at one of them, taped together, ready for some intimate time with E6000, magnets, and cover strips. One look at them, ready to sit for 24 hours. And another, showing the magnets on both the inside and outside. I do still need to add inner strips for the seams, but that will probably wait a little while. Next comes the part where I'm afraid to cut the forearms and ask where they should be cut.

Fun with magnets: Neodymium magnets, N52 strength, awaiting separation. There were 100 of them, until I had to play with them and see how far they would jump. The 100th one jumped about a foot and a half, and broke on impact, leaving 99. If anyone knows of a good, smart, easy way to separate them that won't leave your fingertips feeling like your nails were getting yanked out on the next day, please share it for the benefit of others. Separated into stacks of three. Magnets taped up to protect them and everything around them. Next up: Biceps, welcome to the gun show. :/

Thank you, Steve. Happy to welcome you!! I wouldn't have believe it was possible, but you're on point with your statement. Putting the biceps together last night, I really do just love this process more than I could have thought possible. (This might be a sickness that we all share.) I feel very accomplished just looking at them, while they're still curing.

I'm feeling pretty confident about both of those troops at the moment, but I'm going to be missing about 80% of the "fun" according to most observers. LoL. The bucket is built, and the armor is seriously trimmed. I don't expect that it should take me too long. E6000 is drying on the biceps, and I'm researching the forearms at the moment, because I want to make sure that they are sized/shaped properly before I start cutting. :::gulp::: (More photos tonight, I suppose!)

Maybe the Nordic Garrison could just show up at their HQ? LoL

DD's ANH E-11 Build Thread (First Timer)

Looking real good, Derek! Food for thought on the bubbles... If the blaster is in your hand, nobody will be able to see it. Over time, with handling, it may wear down a bit. I think that you'll be fine, brother! -
Okay. Pictures promised. Here they are. I'll keep them to a minimum, lest we reach 326... I'm planning for no more than 320. Truck. Lunchtime. Surprise. Small box was only a little out of shape because Rob ran out of his regular boxes and had to build a makeshift one for shipping. Hero helmet, with Feliks wanting a turn to wear it. It fits! Next... Stunt helmet and armor, all very nicely and neatly packaged, as Rob is known to do. I believe he may own stock in Saran Wrap. I let Feliks try on the Stunt, just for being supportive. Fits just fine. Feliks did find a way to wear the armor before I did though. Fresh from the box, still wrapped. Laid out for inventory.

I've known for awhile that the boxes were coming soon. I thought about creating this thread because of that, a few times. Ultimately, I didn't because I wanted to have had the actual emotional experience of receiving them before doing so. They're here! OMG, They're here!!! Finally!!!! FedEx never comes to our house before 3:00 - 4:00 PM. NEVER. So imagine my surprise when, while I was home for lunch, the big white truck pulls up to deliver the large brown boxes. I looked like Ralphie Parker running to the tree on Christmas morning as I bolted to get the camera. I started taking pictures and my wife said "Are you really going to take pictures while that little woman tries to carry those boxes to the house? She could drop them." That sent me into a minor panic... "Oh, MY GOD. You're right." I handed HER the camera and ran towards the door, fully intent on running to the street to retrieve the boxes from her, but the FedEx lady was deceptively fleet of foot and met me at the door. Thankfully, my wife had the camera. There are already a lot of pictures of the boxes, me looking like a four year old on Christmas, me wearing beautiful TK helmet(s). Me wearing a helmet with my son, who was wearing the Walt80 helmet that I built and gave to him today when mine arrived. It's been a really good day so far! My Lexan scissors and Neodymium magnets are out for delivery today, too. How's that for timing/fate? I can't promise anything resembling "building" being posted tonight, but I'll get some brown box pictures up to share with all of you sometime tonight. At the moment, I should probably get back to work. Pfffttt... Work. Dammit, I've got TK armor to build. More to follow!

My Hasbro ANH E11 Blaster Build... Please don't let me screw it up!
Dark CMF replied to Zarlon's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Looks like a great start, Kyle! Maybe if you post up some full pics of the electronic components, someone will see something wrong with it that you migh tbe able to fix. -
Thanks for the shout-out, Craig! No need to follow my thread so closely though - I did the exact same thing. LoL As for the counter button - pen spring does the trick just fine! Looking good, Craig!!

Been doing research, just need some advice
Dark CMF replied to CrazyLink1's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
Greetings Dariel, and welcome to the FISD!!! Sounds like you're going to be alright to me. Research is the single most important aspect of getting this type of project underway and completed. As for the vetted sellers, here you go: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/ As for the question of skill... It sounds to me like you should be fine again. If you've ever built a model, everyone says that you'll be fine. I tend to agree with that assessment. It is far less chaotic than I expected it to be when I built a helmet about a month and a half ago. I've got armor that is out for delivery right this very minute, so I'm sure that if you were to ask me this in 12 hours, I'd say that it looks impossible, but everyone else has managed to get it done, and I'm sure that both you and I will too! -
I have such mixed feelings. LoL I am excited that they're making it. Can't wait to play it, either. But that video said "See More 2015." I'd have preferred it said: "Play it, 2015!"

DD's ANH E-11 Build Thread (First Timer)
Dark CMF replied to thederek's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Yes... I did wash before assembling, and I don't believe I even mentioned it in my build thread, now that you've mentioned it, I washed it up again in less aggressive fashion before painting, to reduce any impact from oils deposted during handling for the build. -
Ericia's ANH Walt80 Kid build

Also, I'd like to go on record as saying that 10mil would have been excessive. 3.4 hardly seems bothersome. LoL -
Ericia's ANH Walt80 Kid build
Dark CMF replied to aicire's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
LoL... Awesome! I can feel the excitement oozing through the screen. I don't know if the layout was cool, or intimidating. It looked like you redecorated and the theme is TK. Got to love the sniper plates though - they really tie the room together, man. -
No hiding it, my "Geek-Flag" is high flying these days! LoL. Battlefront today, my armor arrives tomorrow! Every down moment of the day today is mentally focused on a Galaxy far, far away! I do really wish that Battlefront III was about to be available to the public instead of still something like one year away.

Full resin E-11 from DoopyDoo's with some modifications
Dark CMF replied to T-Jay's topic in ANH BlasTech E11
Honestly Tino, I did enjoy it. The trick was to be an adult, and get the brush dry enough to be effective. In hindsight, that's where I had issues as an impatient child, and all I could really remember before painting the blaster was the results of my attempts as a child. LoL As for the big brown boxes... FedEx says tomorrow!!! I cannot get over how beautifully that pattern transferred over on the sights. Absolutely one of the most amazing, yet simple, mods I've seen done. Little bit of effort, HUGE impact. I really look forward to seeing what the next great run of E-11 builds brings our way. The bar has been raised substantially in the last several months, no doubt!
