  1. Eric (Darth Aloha) has the best starting materials list I've seen in some time: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=16995
  2. Completely agree with the opinions posted thus far. The shock/awe/cool value of a female voice coming from a stormtrooper is quite priceless.
  3. I would highly recommend using inside cover strips on the shins. That joint in particular sees a lot of stress since you have to clamshell it open to put it on, and the extra joint strength an interior cover strip provides will be of great benefit.
  4. It goes without saying, but be sure to take photos during the entire process.
  5. I'm on the server, but not in the XFOR guild yet since I didn't get my application in until late last month. I just started playing a day or two ago, and have so far only gotten to Level 3. I can only play for an hour or so a day and I'm new to the MMORPG world, so it'll be slow-going for me. Once the guild opens back up in a few weeks, hopefully I'll get accepted. I'm playing a Sith Warrior. On another note, it looks like there will be another guild opening up on another server, this one being set up by Bioware exclusively for 501st members - it will be called the "501st Legion" and we may be able to use our TKIDs as character names. Can't wait.
  6. I agree - that last photo should definitely make it onto a poster or something.
  7. Only inside the armor.
  8. He's baaaack!
  9. Did Debbi make the hat as well?
  10. Yeah, exactly what I was thinking. Got any 7-foot Vaders out there at the Outpost? If not, I know of one in the Ohio Garrison - you two really should get together. Looking good.
  11. Looks great! What kind of material did she use, and did she do the jodhupers as well?
  12. I'm glad you got it sorted.
  13. The climate in Chicago can vary from hot & humid in the summer, to bone-snapping cold in the winter. If you plan on doing the majority of your trooping indoors and/or during late-spring to early-fall, something along the lines of a dance unitard will do well. For the colder troops - and I'm thinking the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade along State Street in particular - you'll definitely want something nice and thick.
  14. Looks great, and I'm looking forward to seeing you suited up. Maybe now I'll find the motivation to get started on converting my old FX TK to at TKC (although it won't look anywhere near that good). Are you bringing the TKC to C6?
  15. I have the same gloves, and the same slippage issue. They tend to naturally want to stop at the wrist.
  16. Can you take more off of the undertrimmed side to make it more symmetric and still be able to fit the forearm? If it helps, you could trim away the return edge in that last pic completely to give yourself more room.
  17. I use the same locker as Tray, which I also got from WalMart. Everything fits except the helmet, and it's surprisingly compact. The built in wheels and handle are great, and it can be securely padlocked if one chooses.
  18. You'll want to pass on this.
  19. You could go with a wireless setup, or you could simply hide the wire under the neckseal or (like Ricky said) under a balaclava. As was also said, it also means extra equipment (power, bulk, etc.). If the wired mic is falling off, perhaps you aren't giving enough slack to the cord in order to move your head freely. I also use an Aker/iComm setup, and that's the only circumstance in which I've had the mic come off my head.

I'll be playing during the downtime between Christmas and New Years. Haven't signed up with XFOR yet, although I saw the thread over at Legion - I should probably get on that.

  22. What kind of kit is that?
