  1. In my experience it depends on the helmet. But I do know his who troop with glasses on. And you might consider building your own after all. Many of us come in with little to no experience, but we all eventually make it to the finish line. [emoji6]
  2. I have trouble getting the bells and biceps on when the chest is strapped on. So I have done this by following the thighs, shins, boots, ab/kidney order. But then I strapped my bells and biceps to the shoulder straps and put the back plate on while leaning against the wall. Then the chest is strapped on. Awkward, but it worked. I also tend to put my forearms and gloves on after the helmet as its not easy to bend my arms enough to wiggle into my ATA bucket when my forearms are on.
  3. I feel for you. I have a 20 month old at home, and doing the build under those conditions was not easy. I'm pulling for you to get this done on time, but if not, there wil always be more troops to follow. I missed my first expected troop because I just couldn't get things approved in time. But I know another troop is just over the horizon...
  4. Tim, just an FYI -- if that shirt is your under-the-armor compression top, you may be told to get something with a tighter fit when it comes time for approval.
  5. Tim is correct. The inside strapping means very little as far as EIB and Centurion approval. Take a look at the submission pages for both levels as well as the CRL's if you have any questions. I'd say stick with the snap/strap method. Again, the approval threads are invaluable for this as troopers have to submit pics of there strapping set-up for Centurion approval.
  6. No such thing as a slow build. Take your time and make sure it's right. Study the EIB and Centurion threads for good pics. You'll find that trimming more than once is normal. And aim for 15mm cover strips on the arms, 20mm on legs and 25mm on the backs of the shins, depending on your build. Never fear posting pics and seeking advice before cutting. Research is the key.
  7. Thanks guys. Good luck to both of you on your (future) builds!
  8. http://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=17286 Please enable me for 501st access! Bill Blake TK-14791 ANH Stunt
  9. I am now officially approved by the 501st. TK 14791 reporting for duty! Now on to EIB status.....
  10. That's is awesome news!
  11. And thanks to my fellow Carida Tim as well! Sorry brother, missed you post on the last page. I've been following your thread over on Carida.
  12. Thanks Tim! I'm guessing you are not far behind.
  13. I have been approved by my Garrison. Now just a matter of time....
  14. Hey Keith, that was just wrong! Well.... No, that was just wrong! Hope to see you out trooping soon my friend. Yes, I will at some point strap the biceps to the forearms. When I put my bucket on, I forgot to ask my wife to slide the biceps back into place. Probably will lower the thigh straps just a touch as well.
  15. Sorry for multiple posts rather than putting pics all in one.
  16. Still need some work for EBB but that includes waiting for new blaster build. But basic approval pics submitted to garrison. My biceps slipped up a bit but they normally sit fine.
  17. Check out the CRL for the level of approval you want to achieve. Painting a Habro blaster black is generally all you need for basic approval. The Doopydoos kit you are looking at will get you to EIB status level for the blaster. However, if Centurion is what you want, the Hasbro cannot get you there. You need a full resin build, Hyperfirm, pipe build or something along those lines.
