Did not want to hijack the last thread about speakers in the chest plate, so I thought I'd start a new one here. I have an Aker 10W amp (1506 I think) and the headset that it comes with. I keep the amp under my chest armor and run the mic wire up under the neckseal and into the helmet. The amp works great, but I'm having issues with feedback, and that is restricting my ability to set the volume at a level I want. It happens as soon as I put the bucket on my head. Anyone else have problems with this? I tested the system two nights ago after I had a problem at my last troop. When I hung the amp around my neck, put on the headset and then the bucket, things went fine. But when I fully suited up yesterday with the amp back under my chestplate, feedback again. Very frustrating.

And 2" black for the bicep to forearm connection.

WANTED: Cheap option for helmet fans
DroidHunter replied to =Sv3='s topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
No worries. If you are putting together something similar to what I have, you will have the same set up as many vet troopers and you will be fine. No issues here in 12 months of trooping with it. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk -

They are new to doing this, having set up shop just a few months ago. I'll see if I can get them to post up here soon. -

I can tell you that Chad and Joe are two great guys in our Garrison. This is a relatively new venture for them, but they seem to be doing some really nice work. I'll post up if I get the opportunity to take some first hand pictures. I was just chatting with them yesterday about a future project. -
Gone again.

DD STORMTROOPER E-11 COMPLETE ANH E-11 BLASTER KIT

Another question has come up in this area and I am trying to properly advise someone. His legs are large, and he is going to have a gap that needs to be covered. This is unavoidable. Here are the questions that have been raised: 1. Should the gap be confined to the back of the thigh only, or can it be split between the front and back, or even in the front only? My thought was that it should be restricted to the back based upon past research. 2. Assume for a moment that the gap is only in the back, requiring a larger cover strip in the back. Should the front cover strip be kept at standard 20 mm, or should it be made to match the larger back strip? I need to discuss this issue witrh our GML. Thanks in advance.

Mind if I re-post this at our Garrison level?

This is coming along nicely. Works well on my droid maxx with my Aker amp. Just need mic/amp splitter from amazon. Any chance you can boost the volume of the static burst? Too quiet compared to voice on my set up. Then again it could just be my set up. But this is really brilliant! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

WANTED: Cheap option for helmet fans
DroidHunter replied to =Sv3='s topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
So far, one blowing across my face has been enough. The other is a backup. That being said, I have never done a long time outdoors in the Summer. But in hot rooms and limited trooping outside in summer its enough to cool you. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk -

Really all it takes is some minor soldering and electrical tape. Has never failed me. I'll post a picture for you tonight. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk -
WANTED: Cheap option for helmet fans
DroidHunter replied to =Sv3='s topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
--------- I don't know squat about electronics. That being said, I ordered a couple of these, then went to radio shack and picked up a battery pack that holds 4 AA batteries and has a 9V connection on top, a 9V connector and a toggle switch. I had a buddy solder them together for me the first time. Very easy and cheap. ----------- I can send you a pic later if you want. -
iComm not using a VoiceBooster
DroidHunter replied to TK69581's topic in Electronics for Helmets / Blasters
Suppose you have a genuine Aker MR1506 amp set up, that was not purchased through VoiceBooster. Would that still work with the iComm? -
Date of final approval into the 501st on first attempt: 2014, July 9th.

All elastic. 1 inch for shoulder connection, 1 inch for shoulder to bicep and 2 inch for bicep to forearm. The large kitchen knife worked well. Gently rock it back and forth and pry up. Takes about 5 minutes to get 1 hook off. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Bingo! Gave up on hobby knives and broke out a Michael Myers style kitchen knife. With a little elbow grease it came out! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

I am trying, but given the location, I can't get in there to really get under it. I may just have to cut the top off. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

For e longest time I didn't bother strapping my arms. All I needed was the bicep hooks to keep the biceps in place. However, I recently decided to fully rig the arms and now the hooks are not only superfluous, but they keep grabbing my chest plate when I lift my arms. So I want to remove them. I used E6000 and don't want to damage the biceps. Good suggestions? They are not easy to get at. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
