  1. Nomex Flight Gloves | Gems Ultra Durable | Black, Size 9 (Comparable to Medium-Large) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00S72VDSQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_qAIdUaDCFz2F5 These work great for trooping when you don't use the rubber ones. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  2. Don't forget to sign up for your local Garrison as well! Www.501stgarrisoncarida.org. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  3. We all have different body types, and there a plenty of troopers here that don't fit the movie mold. Keep in mind that technically the ab plate and kidney plate do not need to close all of the way. You can have gaps on the side for basic level approval. However, you can also shim the sides to close all of the way with some extra ABS. You will learn all about how to do that here if that is the path you eventually take. Look at the various vetted armor makers on the getting started page and see what sounds right for you. AM may be a good choice. We are here to help with the rest. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  4. Anyone familiar with this website and the armor discussed therein? I've had a couple of questions come up about the website recently, but I'm not familiar with the website or the kit.
  5. I use mine to secure my thigh garter system as well. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  6. I really like this idea. Way to think outside the box!
  7. Try reading here to find what you want. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/
  8. Looking good brother! Just remember, now you have to keep standing. None of this sitting or kneeling stuff you got used to as a Scout!
  9. Thanks all. We really did have a good time.i don't have all of the pics to post, but we took plenty more with the marines in attendance. This was my first troop sans blaster, and ironically, nobody noticed but me. [emoji6] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Just a few pics from our local appearance at a Toys-for-Tots event, helping to collect toys for kids in need. Lots of smiles and hugs, which made for a nice start to the holiday season.
  11. Glad to have you here, and a warm welcome to Garrisom Carida as well! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. For those not keeping up with the changes, LFL revised the policy a bit last night. They are still requesting that we leave blasters at home for all Disney/ LFL troops and movie premieres until January 7th. They would prefer that we follow the policy for other troops, but essentially will defer to local units. Legion command is working hard to stay in constant communication with us and LFL on this issue. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Until further notice.... Don't like the sound of that.
  14. I'm 5'10" and 170 lbs and I went with ATA. The fit is perfect and I love my kit, but the wait is indeed long. At your size, just about any of the screen derived suits from our vetted sellers will work.
  15. Everyone has their own preferences for strapping, but IMHO I think elastic is best everywhere so that you have a little give when you move. Static elastic can stress the plastic creating higher likelihood of cracks.
  16. I'm always slow when it comes to posting troops! Not sure what my problem is. Earlier this fall, some troops and I had an opportunity to make an appearance at the Lehigh Valley Buddy Walk in Allentown, PA. The walk raises money to battle Down Sydrome, and year-in/year-out, it is a great event to attend. Always lots of smiles! Here are a few pics of our troop: The kids and I: Not the droid we were looking for: ...you know, for the kids!
  17. You can also contact the seller for a replacement set. If you used e6000 to bind it to the chest, you can pop the broken sucker off and replace it. New set of bridges shouldn't run much. Heck, somebody here might even have a spare or two. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. It all depends on what you are trying to do. Rivets are only required at this time for level 3 Centurion status. Even so, the note only states that the originals used split rivets. You don't need to unless you are going for actual replication of the screen used suits -- i.e. beyond Centurion. The only real requirement (and again, only for the highest level of approval) is that the head be rounded or domed, and of the correct size.
  19. just across the bridge in PA. Did you sign up yet with the NorthEast Remnant? www.501stner.com
