Kira47's Anovos ANH STUNT BUILD
Bulldog44 replied to kira47's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I wouldn't shorten the shins too. The one thing you can do to have them sit lower is to deepen the contour of the shin curve that rests on the boot in the front and back, just a bit though. For the chest plate just leave it as is for now, I wouldn't mess with making that shorter. See how the AB plate adjust goes first.
Also for the AB plate and kidney plate , you may get a different result when you where the belt. the belt sort of pulls the parts together and keeps them in place. If to can put the belt on,a we what happens and take a pic if you need more confirmation. -
M38 Hollow Core Scope Project 2016 - Bulldog44
Bulldog44 replied to Bulldog44's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Thnaks Mike, appreciate your help. I still have the awesome large and small lens pair you sold me a while back. They are in my private museum collection of scopes! I have 6 scopes in all to cover all the variations for the blasters but I might be missing one or two. Would love to own an M32 and and 1941 M19 but I think the window period has passed on getting them now. What scopes do you have? Those prisms seem like searching for a needle in a hay stack. Thanks for looking. I tried a few places but mostly prisms for binoculars. These scope prisms were probably custom made for this application only. Maybe there is a stash of them somewhere waiting to be found! If anything turns up, mail me for sure! -
Holy cow! Amazing mod on the stock. Always wanted to try making my stock functional but was afraid to try.
Bravo! Extra weathering on the scope looks great too. Nice work on this!

M38 Hollow Core Scope Project 2016 - Bulldog44
Bulldog44 replied to Bulldog44's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Thanks Mike. Hoping to get things rolling again soon.I have been holding off on producing more scope kits at the moment until I get a better work space. Just ordered a small order of glass lenses that will fit both the M38 ad M19 scope kits. Going to test Smooth On black onyx resin as well if I can afford it here. Lots to do, so little space and time. -
Kira47's Anovos ANH STUNT BUILD
Bulldog44 replied to kira47's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Where do think it seems off? The shoulder bells might need to come in a bit closer near the tops where they connect under the bridges. Looks like you assemble that to fit you very well though. Hard to tell exactly but your AB plate/ kidney plate could be positioned a touch high making it seem condensed near where the button plate is. Maybe try loosening the strapping up if possible for the ab plate and chest plate. Great progress for sure. almost there! -
No problem. Happy if I can be of any help.
-
If you decide to set the lenses in deeper and wish to cover up the seams, I can send you some spare resin M19 retainer rings for the large and small ends. Just a thought. PM if you need them.

Congratulations Ron! Enjoy building your armor! Looking forward to seeing you achieve centurion. Happy to help with any questions you have along the way.

That would great and appreciated. Need help sourcing the correct pack, lots of nylon stuff out there but can't seem to find genuine canvas Alice packs. -
Hope to see this sometime! Poster looks great too! All the best on the film's release. Congrats!

Beautiful job on your blaster. As Christian said, the scope mods are great. looks amazing.

Your build is coming along very nicely. That scope came out great. You captured that wear and aged look. Looking forward to seeing how you complete the stock!

Awesome, thanks for confirming this. I am ready to order one but still not sure if I should order a frame and Alice pack as well, save on shipping together. Serge, are you permanently back in the US? -

Paul, just want to make sure, is the Colemans ammo box the correct dimensions? Also I am having a difficult time finding an alice pack that is made from canvas, all I have seen say nylon. Got a post office drop off notice today. Might be that hook! Let you know asap. -
Thanks. Still need to work out some problems with casting the smaller parts. Pressure casting is something I am interested to try to get consistency. Once I find a new workspace I will start making them again. Too toxic to make in my tiny apartment.

Henry, that is a beautiful collection of capacitors and resistors. Drooling. Chris, you are doing an amazing job. At those measurements it is hard to say what is truly accurate unless we have the real stuff used on screen. Your handmade capacitors look amazing.
-
Chris, I would be honored to receive one of your capacitors. Thank you for offering this chance. I had looked for real ones a while back but no luck. Also I could not find the right smaller vintage resistors/capacitors used on the rear of the power cylinders.

I have two M19 scopes but like Henry I have no plans to sell them or wish to ship the off even on a loan due to their value and rarity. But I have made a cast of one of them which I sell as a kit. I am in the process of making a new mold soon with slightly better silicone since my last mold suffered some shrinkage and some damage. If you think a resin copy would be helpful send me a PM. One good thing about the M19 and M38 is that the large retainer ring is practically identical in size, the large lens assembly is too except for the wiser threading band.
Also the prism cell is the same exact part. So for those parts, you already have the measuremnrts you need.
Can't wait to see more of your work on this project!

LK - First time build - Anovos ANH Stunt
Bulldog44 replied to lkinney's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Congrats on getting your kit so soon! Take it as a good surprise for sure as Anovos has been all over the map with shipping dates.
First cut is always the scariest. The Anovos trim lines are very visible so that should help but also reference the movie screenshots. They will help clarify how close to trim or not. Good luck!
The blaster looks good. Looking forward to seeing your build as it progresses. Ask as many questions as needed and take your time!
Good you have a friend locally to help, TK-42113. Tell him TK-42114 says hello! -
Certainly you can source the soft goods for less than the $200.00 Anovos is charging. I have their soft goods (which i am not using, just for back up) and think they are not terrible. . . . . . . . but definitely not the best you can get. The most expensive item to buy i think would be the neckseal if you are looking for a nice one, roughly $100.00 morre or less. there are cheaper ones as well. compression shirts and pants can be about $40.00~$60.00 per set roughly speaking. i do find it hard these days to find pure black compression pants, always they have extra seams or colored stitching. also the same brand shirts and pants do not always seem the same shade of black. thsoe are some of the pitfalls of sourcing your own stuff. Hope that helps.
