1. Fantastic work on this. Love it! Happy to help out with the rings. Going to try this if I get a hyperfirm!
2. Cool! This will be interesting.
3. Do you mean the hex ones in the 2 bottom photos? From my M19 scope. Really? you can make those? awesome? Is it expensive to produce them? Can you make the M38 ones too? I have heard from Boba Debt there are variations of the mounting screws on the M19 scopes. not sure why.
4. Thanks for looking into this. Yes, I would certainly be interested in mounting screws for my kits. Looking forward to hearing if your friend can produce the two types and hopefully within reasonable cost. Cheers!
5. Also looking to know what anyone has concluded as to what they used for the rolled up blanket thingy on the backpack. About to do an order from the States to ship over the grenade tray/box and a frame but would like to try and consolidate more items for cheaper shipping if that part is somewhat known. what straps used as well.
6. Hi Chris here are the mounting screws I am looking to source for the M38 and M19. Boba Debt on the RPF forum had made some for his last blaster run but mentioned they were pricey to make. I am hoping to find something similar but not too expensive. Some of the hardware ends up costing more than the resin scope itself.
7. Super! Counter parts looking sweet! Nice score on the periscopes!
8. Sorry Chris I will get some pics up of those scope mounting screws soon, just haven't had time to do it. By the way, you mentioned on your blog you acquired two M19 scopes. That is amazing. Are they the same regarding the side light socket? Or do you now have the full circle and cut circle version as well? And now a 1943 M38. Super effort going out to get these scopes. Seemed really hard to come by anything these days but you managed to prove that wrong. I admire your spirit!
9. Chris, will you be fabricating the mounting screws for the M19 scope too? I am looking for suppliers of screws similar for the m38 and M19 scopes but no luck finding very close matches.
10. ------------- Just found this site. Mail to confirm if they have them or not but it says they do on the order page. Shipping might be a but he they are and new it says! Hope this helps.

Only $18.95
11. Lookin fantastic! Things are really full steam ahead at your shop. I love tht short video of the M19 laser scan, cool tech!
12. Thanks Joseph and Mark for replying. I went ahead and cut open the one of gaskets to trim it to a better size that fits. But I tried the tire reapir glue and it did not work, tried loctite rubber glue too but nothing. It seams the gaskets are more of a latex than regular rubber. I think I have the second or third generation gaskets so maybe they switched materials.

Unfortunately they do not sell the Elmer's super glue here. I need to get these sealed up aSaP but losing hope. Might just have to sew them up for now and use regular super glue to get them to hold.
13. Sorry to hear they didnt send you what they posted. You may still be able to add the bottom half of the cushion backing from a cheap throw away backpack.
14. Very Interested to know what they used for the canvas roll and types of straps. Also the Antenna.
My guess with the pack top and bottom unseen parts look like the ammo box is just opened fully upside down. So the bottom of the pack behind the Alice pack is the top half of the ammo box. And the top part of tha pack behind the grenade tray is the bottom of the ammo box! Geez that was a mouth full. Just a guess though.

I await with great interest to learn more from your research! Thanks!
15. I had received Anovos gaskets that were already assembled and found that after trooping with them the gaskets cause lots of problems due to them shifting when I move my arms. There are only two horizontal straps to secure them;one across the chest and one across my upper back. I think the gaskets were assembled to fit a person with bigger arms so I need to probably do some trimming to get a better fit to my arm. At the moment when I move my arms the bicep armor gets pushed down and the shoulder bells lift up from the gaskets moving around too much. The shoulder gaskets are not affixed to the bicep armor though like the FO armor from the movie. I cut open one gasket to trim it but starting to get second thoughts. I also I noticed while cutting there was black threading near the armpit seam I guess to secure the parts coming together. Sorry I do not have photos but just wondering if I should do a bit more trimming to get a slimmer fit or should I just try securing the gaskets to the inside of the biceps first? I still plan on adding some more horizontal support straps on the front and back. now that i cut open one gasket I need to re-glue it but not sure i can find a good enough glue here in Japan for that. Would bicycle tire repair glue be good or not recommended? Any help is appreciated.
16. These are nice straps you found. Solid green color! The ones I found were camouflage .Going to dye them so I hope they come out okay. No Serge I went to a shop in Ikebukuro, saving Nakano for a better day to relax and shop. Seems I can't find enough time to get there when I want to. Maybe next week. I still need the frame and ammo box, hoping to order from Coleman's and ship it over. If it doesn't cost too much. Good to hear you ordered the straps Bryan!
17. Cool. Definitely keep me updated on this! I would be interested to purchase some if it helps with securing a large order.
18. Hope this project has not flatlined. Really interested to see the finished product nd hopefully a price tag. Ken, if you are out there, keep on truckin with this blaster project. Would love to see any new updates.
19. Hi Bryan,
I just picked up the same type of straps in Tokyo this weekend and believe they are the correct type. If not i just tossed away some cash. The military supply shop guy has a look and agreed with me they are the same. The long cushion padding is one tell tale sign and where the seams are located. Hope this helps.
20. Spectacular work on this Art! This will be crazy cool if you get one printed and working.
21. Yeah, the prisms seem to be pretty tough to find and too expensive to order. They would cost more than the plastic scope kit itself! I also tried ordering the tiny screws that lock the retainer rings and lens assemblies on the scopes but the local company that specialises in them here in Japan gave me a quote of $350 for an order of 300 or so. For such tiny screws they cost a whole lot so I have put off supplying them with my kits until I find a cheaper deal. I am still praying there is a honey pot of old scope parts lying around in some old vintage military depot, prisms and all!
22. Chris, received my metalmite capacitor in the mail today! Wow! It looks amazing. A piece of art for sure. Please PM me your Paypal address so I can at least pay you back on the shipping. Really appreciate you sending me one and definitely would like to get a power cylinder kit at some point when funds get replenished.
Thank you so much again.

Just curious but is there a way the M19 can be cast hollow in a choice of metal by using wax castings? I have seen this method use and think that if you can make wax casting hollow and use a method of packed sand to encase the wax, then all you need is to pour the liquid metal in and the wax evaporates and the metal fills the cavity where the wax casting was. Maybe the light socket or one of the scooe feet could be where the pour spout is located.
23. I had contemplated it but thought I did not have the correct tools or skills to get that part off without inflicting some damage. Seeing you only have one scope in hand I think I would not do it but if you plan to make the castings 100% accurate copies you would have to. Dont think it is all that necessary though, its the outside details that count most. Just curious to know if you were going to try that or not. Will your casts be hollow or need to be machined to create the inner cavity? I bought a bronze replica M19 off the last Boba Debt run on the ROF and it was casted solid then machined. Partially machined for lenses. Heavy sucker but looks great. Really excited to see your castings when they a completed. I went to a few metal foundry places here in Japan to ask if they could make scope copies for me but they said it would cost a fortune to do it and not possible since my production order would be too low . Most likely they didn't want to help anyway. Eagerly waiting for any updates on the M19 front!good luck!
24. Chris, nice M19 catch! It really is a beauty. I am sorry I could not to terms with selling any of mine. That offer was amazing and I deeply considered it but my wife said the highly annoying cost for her would be me forever sulking that I sold one.
Really looking forward to seeing your M19 scope kit. Just curious, are you going to disassemble the whole scope? Will you take apart the light socket on the side?
