  1. Clearly five, without counting the first big one, to me. This is the most recurrent amount on original armors. It's not written in the CRL, but who cares about CRLs anyhow?
  2. Everything looks very nice. I think I would have accentuated even more the double curve on the thighs, but they already look tremendously better now!
  3. Yes, tear apart, and reglue. If you're careful, you can even salvage the cover stripe, however if you tear it by force you might break it. As for the magnets, the wider they are, the more you will avoid gluing issue. With the ones you posted, I fear the center line of the cover stripe will be glued while the edges won't sit nicely flat, leaving small gaps. I would advise for at least 20mm-25mm wide magnets.
  4. Meh, it's not fun if you don't do it yourself . Alright, mode" jalous b*tch" off, very nice find!
  5. Wow, the glock model you found is complete with all the internal parts?! Very cool, scary as you say, but cool nonetheless. While i was designing my model i thought about trying to do that but it's quite some work! And I guess it's certainly forbidden somewhere in the law... It reminds me of a film with Clint Eastwood and John Malkovich I watched few weeks ago by the way
  6. Can't you just take a pen, a sheet of paper and draw it? Or would it violate your NDA too.
  7. We are not going to be friend, my friend! I working on the same thing right now . I have finally finished to design my glock 17 as I wanted to make my own model (mostly because I think some details from the original Glock frame won't be on the TFA part), and plan to begin on the KPOS today. It's up to me to do better than you now! By the way, parts of the visor might come from a carbine M4A1:
  8. Hey Dennis! Long time no update, but definitely worth the wait This armor will belong to a museum.
  9. It won't be perfect, but just like the KPOS won't be too. I think none of the found parts will be a perfect match as the guys from the film have only used them as basis to 3D model the props, making alterations where they wanted. To me that Carbine Conversion Kit will be like with the ATI strikeforce shoulder stock. Close but not 100% accurate. So I say this one will certainly do the job with alittle modding.
  10. Here's the link to the RPF thread: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=246684&highlight=reputable
  11. To post pictures here, you need to host them on another website, such as Photobucket, and then link the pictures here. Here's a tutorial: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorials/article/5-howto-post-images-on-the-forums/
  12. The RPF thread is about the gloss finish of a Stormtrooper helmet. Not about sizing, or TIE pilot helmet, and else.
  13. No need to apologize Danny. And actually, that's how i understood you. It's just that to me, they aren't as important as the the elbow gaps because you can see few stormtroopers in ANH with huge gaps at the crotch area. However, you will never see one with gaps between the biceps and forearms. Anyway. Just don't mine me, I can really go frantic when it goes to elbow gaps. They're my nemesis .
  14. In my opinion, if there are two gaps you should be worried about, they're certainly not the ones between the top of your thighs and cod but the ones at the elbows. The top of the forearm should be (and by "should" I wish i'd be "must") touching the bottom of the biceps. And if it gets you trouble to bend the arms (which i doubt it would), you just need to lower your biceps from the shoulder bell to solve that. I really don't understand why it's not in the Centurion CRL. I would even write it for EIB as it's one hell of a visual thing that improves tremendously the look of an armor. But once again, it's only recommendation. Nothing compulsory...
  15. Haha, I feel you mate. I did the same mistake for a part on another costume. Based all my search on a picture posted by someone, finally found an accurate match, bought a lot... and then realized the picture i followed was wrong. Now I don't know what to do with it !
  16. Nop. No glue at all should be used.
  17. I say stop right there with your ears. They look damn fine. All the original helmets had gaps around the ears, and by trying to close them you may end up doing more harm than anything else.
  18. I will call them the crocodile boots if you pardon me .
  19. Then buy a RMQ armor rather than denaturating the Stormtrooper armor. The RMQ armor is made by KW Design and recreates what the stormtrooper was supposed to be based on the original design by Ralph Mc Quarrie.
  20. Rubber gloves with liners all the way. I love them! Except for the smell they leave on my hands after several hours of trooping
  21. Really love the look of the Bapty blasters. Beautiful job!
  22. TM will be doing TFA too, so i guess he was comparing with his forthcoming TFA kit.
  23. I would just use small dabs of e6000 under the attachment feet of the liner. It leaves you time to properly position your liner inside your helmet, and can easily be removed with a blade if necessary. I would avoid any hot glue though, as the dome of the helmet is usually thinner than the rest due to vac-forming process and is more sensitive to heat. Here's a small picture i borrowed from Tooperbay. Not the best, but that's the only one i thought of at the moment:
  24. Very nice work! The armor fits like a glove. The only thing i would improve is the strapping between the biceps and forearms. I would shorten it until the top of the forearm touches the bottom of the biceps. Right now the strap serves nothing, and we can notice it flapping loose.
  25. And that's pretty much how it must have been done for the film too!
