  1. Very cool and nice to see actual hero bits on your belt, well done
  2. Well I have had a brown box sitting around for a while, been busy with other projects and costumes, now it's about time to start on my hero bucket which will be the last of my hero conversion. This is an ATA helmet which I have decided to modify to a hero 3 teeth per side version, a TM is being saved for as we speak I started by using my hobby heat iron to apply heat on the inside of the lid on the teeth that needed to be removed, gently moving the iron around while keeping a flat piece of triangle of plastic held tight on the other side, took a bit of time as I didn't want the teeth to completely melt through. This worked well but left a very small ridge around what had been pushed through so I spent some time with 240 grit sandpaper to remove the ridges, then went to 600 grit and on to 1200 grit. Once the sanding was finished I buffed with some cutting compound and it came up a treat. Sorry no photos of the teeth at this stage as I go a bit ahead of myself and went right on to sanding the inside, drying off, masking up then a couple of coats of satin black.
  3. After a few blaster builds I found myself trying to find space to keep all of them safe and out of harms way. After a quick drive around a shire kerbside cleanup I found an adjustable clothing rack and funnily enough the exact same size of perforated particle board that was needed. A quick sand today then a couple fo coats of silver, some plastic ties, some bent hooks with rubber sleeves and we are done. May not be fancy but it's worked out pretty cheap
  4. ATA is awesome when it comes to helping troopers with odd parts, hope it won't be too long until you have your replacement
  5. Wow I gotta trade up lol
  6. very nice keep up the good work
  7. Looking good, hope your wife understands lol
  8. Hello lots of build threads on the forum for you to follow, think of the armor as a life sized plastic model kit, I am sure you will do fine
  9. Perhaps you could add pictures of the gloves you are talking about
  10. I would try putting snaps further to the front on the elastic shoulder straps. this has stopped mine from rotating. You may also need tighter elastic around the biceps that would also help. Thighs should come up a little, I have adjustable straps on my thighs and found I needed to pull mine up too.
  11. +1
  12. Very nice work Mark, if you wanted too you could give the bells a little heat and flare them out slightly this would allow the centre ridge to go over the ridge on the bicep a little more. I wouldn't bother though as they look good to me
  13. You could send Vern a messeage (TK Bondservnt 2392), he has a nice set and he is a guru of blasters . If you use Zeroroom's you will have to check as I think from memory it was missing a couple of holes and also you have to modify the size to print the template on some sized pipes.
  14. You can only say stay away from ebay so many times lol
  15. You could leave as is but I went a little further, if you take a little more off the bottom flat section and the top round section the curved piece will be brought in further. An easy way to see what you need to trim is use a pencil and run it around the base of the ear
  16. You don't want to take too much more of your forearms or you will loose the ridges when you cover with the strip. Forearms should be closed and we use the e6000, the only place to use velcro or clips would be on to close your shins. Looking good so far keep up the good work.
  17. Had the same problem with my shoulder bells, I ended up putting snaps further to the front on the elastic shoulder straps and this has stopped them rotating. I have adjustable straps on my thighs and found I needed to pull mine up too. Some photo's would be great to give us a better idea of what you are talking about.
  18. You shouldn't have a problem with approval but I have had some pieces from TM and ATA and the colour difference is quite noticeable, just depends on what two makes you will be using.
  19. For a social armor it is looking good but if you would like to be 501st approved and accepted by most you will need a better armor and lid
