  1. WOW you really dug up an old thread here I've been using spray can primer then go over with a gloss clear, no brush strokes with gives a nice overall finish
  2. Correct, a couple of references
  3. I did a bit of research but couldn't find the correct width or either webbing or U trim and ended up purchasing from Mark.
  4. ABS paste depending on acetone used and thickness can leave little pin air holes so another filler may be needed to finish those. BUT some are not finding any pin holes and use ABS paste to fill thigh ridge gaps as well as some seams on FOTK armor
  5. There are some differences shown in these threads. Not sure what you mean about bicep coverstrips. And text https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GBkXIfRs9lYW6vnhVjqdEv5oNdp2ToTs/view
  6. That's your legion forum profile, not membership, should be this one https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=36320
  7. I find using industrial elastic the best, doesn't seem to stretch/pull as much. Some even double over the elastic for more strength. Bit hard to tell from this image, depending on your build and shoulders you may end up having to add a slightly longer strap to the should bell if the issue continues.

  9. Personally I wouldn't heat them, I guess you could but you may end up in all sorts of trouble. The top of the ear is still quite thick, reducing this will bring the lower section inwards, it's all about minor tweaks. You can also add a step to the top of the ear to help in come in more, this is such an informative thread for trimming ears
  10. Hello and welcome aboard, if you get stuck we have a gallery area full of references to follow, good luck with the build
  11. Just remember the golden rules: Measure twice, cut once Check references, we have a gallery area full of them If you don't know then ask, there is never silly questions, only silly mistakes from not asking Looking forward to the progress Some helpful links
  12. Excellent, now wait until that joy wears off, then the panic sets in when you realize you have to trim this shinny pristine armor
  13. Couldn't say, I don't know if anyone has requested the images for other usage but they are huge files. In the request form it limits how the images may be used, what date it will be used (although we use ours multiple times) and for what charity, it also asks "Type of Item to produce".
  14. Hello and welcome aboard, I sprayed my armor with automotive acrylic paint by rattle cans, I guess you could use an airbrush but it would take you some time to cover all the armor. I was lucky the base white from automotive shop was the same shade as helmets from Anovos. I prefer automotive acrylic as it dries quickly, you can finish with a few gloss coats to protect and if you have any runs you can sand and polish. Here is what others have used (thanks to @ukswrath) One of many threads on paint
  15. New LFL Backdrop Images I'm not sure how many of you would have seen the backdrop thread over on the 501st forum, these have been available to legion approved members since 2012 https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=67849 but images had been a little outdated. I had a conversation with Pete from LFL in 2020 as to any new images which may be available, he said he would talk to Disney Legal as to when we may see some new era images, well after pestering Pete again yesterday he sent me this info: Hi Glen -- yes, we do actually have some new imagery. I've attached the new list of thumbnails along with a request form. Fyi, Alex Vargas is the new Head of Fan Relations and will be handling these requests from now on (he's cc'd as [email protected]). Here are those images (click to enlarge) Any questions about purchasing or pricing of a backdrop please contact @Arcturus1020 via the legion forum https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=67849 If you order from James he does not have the images, you must request these from Lucasfilm and also give information for which event and charity you will be supporting. Charity Image Request Form: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xs2VQ56ed-usRVvJ49LB-Dd0IWycZSlV/view?usp=share_link and you can send the image request to: Alex Vargas Head of Fan Relations [email protected] FYI you can request images from LFL and have a backdrop made locally. Examples of what we had made by a local supplier, 2 fabric backdrop's with expanding frames, these are very light, easy to set up and a breeze to fold and pack, these are 4500mm wide x 3000mm high Frame Enjoy
