Fixing cracks in TK armor with Aceton
gmrhodes13 replied to Vicky_Velocipanda's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Nice work Vicky. You can use different grades of wet and dry sandpaper to smooth out the filled area, then finally buffing compound and polish, it can be very slow and tedious work to get a shine back. Great tip on the label with which armor maker, many are different shades of ABS so good not to mix them up. -

TKC is base on game version, most having ANH helmet and ROTJ armor,BUT you can modify ANH armor to appear like ROTJ, join posterior and kidney, add S trim to armor like ROTJ) Here is my ANH to TKC (L3 centurion)

KJ Build thread? Walt's Trooper Factory Kit
gmrhodes13 replied to MSF Productions's topic in ANH Build Threads
If you think it's strong enough then stick with it, it's more a just in case It's not too hard to work with BUT you can't re-bend if you make a mistake as it can break quite easily. Some templates and info for the rail here -

I would advise making an aluminum rail for your scope to sit on, you can knock the blasters when trooping and it may catch and break. And do as much prep work as you can to the printed surfaces to remove any lines, from the CRL: For costumes with both blasters and accessories. 3D printed blasters and any approvable accessories can not contain visible print lines and must be sanded smooth for a more realistic appearance. -

We do have a member here that sells handguards Bubble lenses are a Level 2 requirement and only for Hero version, are you building to Hero specs, appears your helmet is a stunt version, couldn't find info in your thread? There are quite a few differences between Hero and Stunt, comparisons here https://drive.google.com/file/d/10tEVteIreh6AHMogW010cuH_Bf8TBfU6/view -

gmrhodes13 replied to Sithcollector's topic in Rogue One

Congratulations and welcome to the ranks trooper. FYI you can request higher forum access here Also have a read of this thread about troop report recording and shinny trooping badges -
Photos would probably help. Normally the belt is angle upwards slightly on the sides so the bet can't slip down. Here's a random pic from an EIB application showing what I mean, not the upwards angle to the back, with the belt tight it can't slip. If you can't achieve this on the sides you could always add some velcro to both the kidney and fabric belt so it stays up.

Nice work, just a couple more items you could adjust: Detonator should be level, on an angle. Gaps between the top ridges of calves, I added a couple of pieces of scrap abs behind to it appears fully closed Try to match the spacing near wrists Good luck with approval, hope we see you with a TKID soon

You need a lot of practice before using a heat gun on armor, ABS plastic can go from almost pliable to molten mess in a blink of an eye, many choose the hot water bath method as that is more user friendly. If you do use a heat gun make sure you practice on scraps first and also don't use too much heat.

I've got about 5mm of flattish viewing space in my Hero bubble lenses so I'm not surprised they had so many vision issues

TK 74182 incinerator costume
gmrhodes13 replied to Imperial_juggernaut's topic in Incinerator Trooper
No you have to make your images smaller, uploading to Imgur will fix your issues. Upload images there then copy and paste link to each photo into your forum post. -
Locally we normally have 4 to 5 events on May 4th so it's a pretty busy day, many of our troopers organise to take that day of work, most are pretty wrecked after attending that many troops and of course most are back to work on the 5th. We are not sure if we will have that many this year as yet as we are waiting on word from Lucasfilm, normally they organise hospital visits around Australian children's hospitals, LFL even send boxes of toys and books to hand out to the sick younglings. Some years there is also a retail moratorium lift so we are free to troop at retail locations (those with Star Wars products) so it ends up being a very busy day. If people have the time and inclination I'm sure some may troop 3 days.
