1. Ok first of all imperial gaskets are absolutely amazing. Super mobility. Not complaint nag about them at all.

I just have a question as to the arms.

Anovos gaskets have about a 14 inch circumference. The biceps at the bottom have a hair over 14 inches inside circumference. The top of the forearms have a little over 14 inch circumference.

The imperial gaskets are 14 inches at the cuff but then sort of cone (like a sleeve on a shirt) larger to the shoulders, which you need, but at the bicep bottom it is 18 inches around. This results in needing to bunch up the gaskets at the bottom of the bicep, which is less than ideal.

All this is unmodified measures.

Now this was probably done to fit a range of arms. What I'm wondering is should I trim Down the gasket at the bicep so the gasket is more of a 14 inch circumference cylinder until it's at the top of the bicep where it needs to flare out?

Has anyone else done this?

Thes gaskets are so much better than the anovos economy ones that I could not move in. But the bunching up at the bicep is something I want t to fix, but before I cut I'm interested in what others have done.
 2. to me i dont care who produces it or what it costs. It comes down to the fact its not accurate. and from a company that loves to talk about how they have access to the real props. Im a GML. If the things ship like this, and the folks dont change the belt and TD at least its not getting approved. There is no reason to relax the standards of the legion because there are a lot of these. When someone submits to me in an unmodified FX or an unmodified Rubies (yes its happened *shudder*) I tell them the same thing. If the suit meets the CRls then ill pass it if it doesnt I wont. I hope like heck we are not going to go back to the days when anything goes. We are supposed to be a forefront costume club. we are supposed to look like we stepped out of the movie. We are not supposed to be a drinking club that likes to cosplay. Its not about anovos (he he) its about the fact the kit isn't accurate. is it cheap? sure. can it be made to pass? sure. will it pass from the start, probably not. If we were all eletist we would say that only RS and TM kits could be in the 501st. But we still let in FX kits from 15 years ago as long as they have been modified to meet the minimums. Dont turn this into a "the 501st hates ANOVOS" thread. One of those is on the main legion already. this shoudl be a thread talking about what we as crazy costume nerds see as issues in the kit so we can figure out what needs to be done to make it better BEFORE 5000 newbies try to submit and get told they cant pass.
 3. very glad I cancelled my white and black CWFBSORNTACP tk preorders. love the CWFBSORNTACP edit really just posting forCWFBSORNTACP to be changed anovos CWFBSORNTACPCWFBSORNTACP lol but yeah still very glad I cancelled. as a GML will be a rough time when these guys start applying and I explain the belt and td at the very least to them.
 4. anovos gaskets are trash. im on the list for fabric but she's got a long list. just in case ive put the anovos ones together. after multiple washes they are sticky and difficult to slide on your limbs. I could suit up to the ab, then I had to have help to avoid breaking the yoke. and then I was so restricted in movemnt they had to put on the chest and my helmet. I felt like c3po trooper. was ridiculous. I have the legs as a pair of pants more or less and they go on well enough but the gaskets are too shart as Im 6 foot 1. so i had to push he thighs down and hike the shins up. I ended up putting my spats below the shins to help avoid the 'high wader" look even tough I know technically they should go over the shins. the forarms and biceps are all connected with the elbow gaskets and the shoulder gaskets that I slide one (HA! with those sticky things its more like struggle on) and then clip together on a back strap and a front strap once on. you have to put one sleeve on, then have a helper put the yoke over that one then over the other shoulder. then they struggle push and pray to get the other arm in the gasket and then tuck it under the yoke and clip them together, then put on your chest, then your helmet. does it work? sorta, but once i get the fabrics ill never go back to anovos. the biggest concern is that fragile small opening yoke over those darn things. i was able to get suited up but this arm bend was about my full range of motion no joke. im seriously thinking of greasing the things on the inside and going with a sleeveless top shirt. ------------------
 5. any update on a substitute for the brick like backing to the pill holes? I have heard cloth and I have heard counter top, but ive not found any that look even close to that.
 6. I got mine today, looks great, ill be gladly replacing my ANOVOS one with this. I have some clean up work to do, but nothing new to folks who have done resin lids before. Still working on the armor at the moment so this might be a post premier upgrade, but I can already see it more closely matches the movie and the suits at celeberation.
 7. I was concerned with folks bonding over the seam on the inside and then being a pain to correct. Also worried some gmls would ding the guys going for approval when the left tge seam.

Thanks!
 8. On the biceps:
Biceps have only one seam on the side that faces forward. The rest of the bicep must be seamless

This is wrong the screen used had a velcro closure on the inside seam, so the only seam to be filled should be the pill side...
 9. I installed it last night.

Wasn't as hard as I had it in my head.

Just cut from the back around the indent with an exact opposite sand and glue.

I still need to bondo it.
 10. Anyone have a good guide/template for replacing the vacformed indent with the resin one?

I've seen some finished products but if a little leery of cutting into the chest without a solid plan of attack.
 11. I love this name. I always see a trooper looking all puzzled. the WTF Trooper... -------- But seriously as GML I have approved a few of the WTF Tks and they are very well done!
 12. how does it orient? in other words do the long bricks go with the long side of the pill box or do the short ends? also got a link to the formica?
 13. wonderful.. I cant wait to get my grubby mitts on one of theese
 14. I did not know you did the vac forming KW. I have zero issues and am not worried at all if thats the case. The animated clone and realistic clone I got from you were some of the best kits i've ever had.
 15. im not worried about L2 or L3 CRl needing it, this is for me to make as accurate a kit as possible, because thats what I like. It never occurred to me really that these mods would be required for top level CRl. Despite the fact that my suits are all built to top level I am not one of those guys that feels they NEED it to justify themselves. I just want to build the most accurate suit as possible with what we have. That said I very well may not add the metal bracket since its silly..
 16. I wonder if the forearm boxes should be sanded as well. I have noticed in pics of the real suits they are sharper than on the anovos pulls. I dont want to use someones build to have them think Im singling them out, but once I get mine I can post a pic of what I mean. Edit: this is on the main page so I am grabbing it: Anovos: to me the screen one is sharp instead of rounded. And of course you will need to add tape...got to have tape
 17. This really annoys me as I purchased a kit based on the ABS of the first ones. if they have switched to crappy hips thats too thin what the hell. I mean not only are most of the helmets cracked and have issues, now we have sub par armor? For a ridiculous price?
 18. well my understanding is that Hanger 18 was contracted by disney to make the suits (and the Darth vader etc). The costumes are leaps and bounds better than they used to be 9the Tks used to have screen for eyes and the vader had an umpire cod) The stormtrooper costumes are based on ROTJ/Tour costumes but not exact copies. they made allowances for different actors and the dancing etc. They did not pay as close attention to detail as rabid 501st fans do, so more were after an idealized idea of a stormtrooper.
 19. We get the pictures there Josh! Once they go to me the GML, and I approve you, they then go to the GWL (Garrison Web Liaison) who uploads them, and then the Main Page Web Liason adds them to your profile. That can take some time though so don't worry! Congrats again .
