Managed to acquire this recently. Not really into fibreglass helmets, but impressed with this helmet, especially that someone else has already done all the hard work in the accurate paint job. So thought I would share some pics... I am going to have to build a secret room now with a false wall to hide my lids, as my mrs keeps asking..."Is that new?"

Love this helmet Armando...have you not thought about doing another helmet and adding the chips to that??

To me idealized would mean every trooper lid looking identical, with the exact same frown and the same number of tube stripes. (Referring to the original trilogy). Thankfully different helmets can be identified on screen due to runs of paint and individual hand painted parts...then came the clone wars To me replicating a helmet is getting that wonky paint line as exact as possible to the original! People that say to me "I could have painted that better" don't have that eye for accuracy!

The 300 has just started so will watch that...again! Then work for the rest of the weekend

Totally agree, watching the episodes I-III, especially the battles in episode III didn't do much for me, just felt like watching a whirlwind of CGI with a total lack of reality and depth! I love the original trilogy whereby all props had to be hand made from the materials and skills available at the time, which thankfully gave us the imperfections which mean so much to me now.

Here is an SDS stunt. The bottom of the tear does curve in (which can be seen on a lot of lids) but it is not a prominent bubble...

I trimmed from the front, as pulling the front of the cap up closes in the area to put your head. However was going for the 'Stop That Ship' look which does have a high brow.

I personally would stick with the screen look! I love the asymmetric shape/flawed eye/angled left ear/varying painted frowns etc...anything normal looks odd

Managed to look at some other pictures and spoke to someone who has seen the actual lid. The mesh is black, as is the inside walls, only the bottom bits in the middle are white. Thanks for your input guys
