Painted the frown, ears and vocoder today Did apply some krylon triple gloss, and it ran in parts but think the runs give it a more original look!!! Just need to pinstripe the ears and wait for Mike's decals!!

I just attached it to one of the ear screws each side. Cheers Mike...thought something wasn't quite right!!!

Did some work on the inside of the lid today, but have to alter the rubber trim a bit!

I'm using Humbrol No.85 Satin black for the vocoder, for accuracy should I also use this on the frown???

Had a fly land on the lid whilst still wet, resulting in me removing ALL the paint on the cap and back and having to respray it!! <_< That said I am now back on track. There are a few minor touch up jobs as the paint does not hold too well to the plastic, but getting there. Will get all the hand painting bits done in time for Mike's decals to arrive!! Happy with it though considering it is my first helmet paint job!

I get this most days around 9AM GMT for about an hour

Looks impressive as it is Mark. I have the same problem on my AP "Stop That Ship" TD bucket, as people have commented on how shiny it is, but am reluctant to get it dirty (Don't let anyone from the MEPD hear me talking like this)

Same here!! I order something from the other side of the world and I want it instantly...hate waiting for things..just impatient I think! After spraying my helmet outside today...I hate flies...the prolems it has now caused me!! Being told I spend too much time on the laptop!!! Bad drivers, and the Isle of Man is full of them!! People that let their dogs poo outside my front gate!! Phoning companies and getting call centres and a different person each time!! Technology changing too fast, I can't keep up and it is expensive!!

Looking good Mark!! What enamel paint are you using....it gives a great finish!

I have started my ESB helmet build, and will base it on the ESB 'Badged' helmet. Timing is good, as have ordered the decals from Mike (TK-4510) As you can see from the photos below, I have already primed it and have sourced a high gloss topcoat by Rust-Oleum here in the UK, so will let you know how it works!! It does state however that recoat times are within 1 hour or after 48 hours!!

I got blocked today at work trying to access the FISD....Gutted!!...There must be an IT mole in the ranks who is spoiling our fun Can't access e-bay or facebook either....I'll have to actually do work now..ha!
