  1. Here is a follow up for you E-6000 guys: Which E-6000 do you use? I've got a tube of the 'Clear Transparent'. Stuff feels like rubber cement while its drying. I know they also make one that looks like bondo that can be sanded when dry.
  2. Yeah, so far I like it when it isn't kicking my an impolite person.
  3. OW! My finger! Was pulling on a dry 'string' of E-6000 that was hanging between two pieces of a blaster barrel, and it snapped and whipped my fingertip. E-6000 is an adhesive that means business.
  4. Okay, thanks. I grabbed some E-6000 today. Also wound up getting PVC to construct a blaster from scratch > We'll see how well the E-6000 does for me when I get to that point. I'll keep JB Weld in mind.
  5. Yeah, just found it on the Hobby Lobby site, so they might have it. Looks like neat stuff, though. So is it consensus that E-6000 is the glue to use?
  6. Where do you get E6000? I saw you recommend it on other posts, but so far I haven't found it on the couple sites I've been browsing. Ah, here we go. I think I found their website.
  7. I'm thinking of building an E-11 Blaster from scratch and am considering materials. What kind of adhesives (glue, epoxy, etc) do you guys use for any kinds of material, like metal, plastic, PVC, etc. Things like metal to metal, plastic to plastic, plastic to metal, etc. If you had to build a blaster or some other armor prop (ANYTHING!) from scratch using whatever materials you wanted with whatever adhesive you wanted, what is your sticky of choice?
  8. You needed a reason not to? I like all the stories of how the Rubies sales people at conventions say 'other' Stormtrooper armor costs over $5k or something equally as ridiculous. If I even encounter one, I'll have to ask them for a statement about the mistreatment of its factory workers! "My armor might cost more, but at least no one died to make it!"
  9. Looks like you guys got the last of them, or at least I don't seem them listed anymore. I'm gonna sit under the dining room table and cry, now.
  10. Heh, I've had mixed feelings about going and seeing it. I probably will at some point, but for now I haven't made up my mind (unless someone wants to make a date of it! ;D ). And yeah, I'm looking forward to the 3D remakes of the six films and the live action series if just for the new outfit options we'll all have. They might also use more of the obscure ones we have little or no reference for!
  11. Wow, I'd have gone insane if I had project like that lying around for ten years that I hadn't worked on! Cool though, free armor!
  12. We're gonna end up with a whole new uniforms and armors we'll have to emulate. On the plus side, it might answer some questions about what uniforms should look like, OR open up other accessory options. The good guys always wear white!
  13. Yeah, or even taken a melee hit from a sword or other blunt weapon, and the armor is also covered in the blood from your point-blank blaster hit into the attacker. You would probably need to melt extra plastic on to where you want it to look like the attack scratched up material, without it actually cutting into your armor too much.
  14. Nice Yeah, maybe some light pin striping on the armor. Maybe a couple of flaming Ewok skulls. No spin-art, though. Oh, here's an idea, shrapnel in the armor. Just chucks of debris protruding from the chest plates. "Now with realistic battle damage!"
  15. I was trying to think of ways to make a set of armor stand out in event photos, so that you could say "Hey! Thats me!" and I realized that you could weather armor in pretty much any color. Dirt may be different color on different planets, trees and grass and other shrubbery might not always been green. And if you were involved in a close-range fight, the blood stains on your armor might not always be red, either! Some armor could be stained in grease, while others could show the scorch marks of a blaster hit. It is also starting to look to me that certain Clone Trooper commanders have different types on art on their armor, so maybe minor armor decals (in theme) would work too. I'm sure some of this is already done, anyways. Not quite certain having purple splatter all over your armor meets 501st approval, but its an interesting idea nonetheless. I dunno, just putting my thoughts down.
