  1. Thanks brothers. I'm proud to be in the same group as all of you. Many whom I've admired and respected from afar.
  2. Ah but it's not giving FX/AM a way out. It's making them more in line with the other armours that already have correct chest plates. FX/AM is an exception in the sense that they are the only ones that need that mod. It's not the same as saying AP sniper plate doesn't fit so you can rivet it, which is an exception to the rule.
  3. I point it outwards. I like it under my chest as well because it makes it seem like I"m "talking" to that person. Simple setup and no problems with it so far. Wire goes from back of lid under armpit into iComm. Aker is super secure, hangs right there with a strip of velcro at the bottom to prevent it from dropping too much. ------------
  4. Yeah AP is notorious for the sniper plate. Ask LadyinWhite about it. Haha. I learnt a lot from her build and took it into consideration when I put mine on. It turned out "okay" but at least that knowledge has been passed on to the other AP recruits in the T4BP now so they should have a better time than I did. It's all about trial, error, learning, and passing it on. I don't think that EIB/Cent should take armour type into consideration. We all need to follow the same standards, some things are easier than others for the different types is all. It's part of the challenge.
  5. If you do shorter straps you have to move the snap plates on both sides closer together otherwise they will pop off. The butt lift happens because there's too much slack. I'll take a pic for you Charles.
  6. Oh I do that too on the inside. Otherwise it slips while waiting for it to dry. I agree.
  7. I strapped my amp to the inside of my chest plate with snaps and some fabric (the amp has a hook). Fits perfectly. Oh i remember, i have the 10 amp version. My icomm is just velcroed next to it.
  8. I agree with Mathias, I dont have that many clamps but green tape to maintain the pressure and clamps on the end work better than i expected. After i juat use white duct tape on the inside along the seam and two pieces horizontally at the ends. So far so good. No exploding armour!
  9. I cant remmber what I have but the Aker iComm is awesome. Worth every penny.
  10. I'm going to try give my feedback for what's it's worth biggest issue is the Chest/Back/shoulder connections. It is all weenie-eyed. I am hoping it is just a strapping problem that can be dealt with by lengthening a strap. But then I noticed the whole back has to come down another couple inches. if I do this, I will need to remove the plastic shoulder straps and make it shorter on the chest - ... I think that some of your problems can be solved with a harness to bring your crotch higher (and by default the torso section higher) and of course snaps on back plate and ab plate. Definitely will be trimming out behind he knee on back of thigh so I can walk. - Definitely Gonna need rear strap on hand plate to keep it from sliding forward. - I stole that idea from Andrea, it works AWESOME! Butt plate has the popped out look... gotta figure that one out. - Shorten straps, pull snap plate closer and you can velcro strap down - worked for me. Kidney plate is digging into my back and there is a little flair on my shims. I think if I heat and re-shape the kidney a little, this will fix both issues. - Have to see it first in person, can't see the problem. Don't reshape it yet until you've tried absolutely everything. Cause you won't be able to get it back to original perfectly. Need to add the Velcro to shoe trick to keep shins straight once things are locked in. - absolutely, works like a charm. That one Andrea borrowed me from me haha!
  11. I like the two straps to sit on the outside of the kidney and back seam to keep the seam line straight (horizontal) so it doesnt rock or overlap ona troop.
  12. Excellent GO CANADIANS! We got in a few great troops and even got the official Imperial Tennis Champion.
  13. The one thing I see is that you don't actually need 3 snaps for the chest to ab. But you need more than 2 from kidney to back plate imho. (I have 4 snaps).
  14. All I'm saying is I'm jealous of his perfectly installed sniper plate! What does it look like from the inner side?
  15. Easier to show you than type you about sniper plate. But I think it works. If it survived a climb on rocks, it will survive a troop!
  16. Congrats Kevin! Thinking of going EIB/Centurion?
  17. Thanks bro! I hope to see you next year at GenCon. Missed you this year.
  18. Great job on the build! Wasn't as hard as you thought I bet. One thing though - looks like you got some butt flare going on. Nothing important but will make the kit look tighter.
  19. You know I thought I wanted to be fancy with the padding but man that foam flower is perfect.
  20. You know we haven't had a new test fit picture in a while!... .just saying!
  21. Cool I think we're in desperate need of another armour party. I think I'm doing okay with my build but Centurion has made my armour difficult to get in by myself. Haha. But if I managed to climb 8 feet high rocks to plant a flag. I guess I can't complain.
  22. Positivity, fun, community and more fun! Thats our secret and oh setting EIB as the standard expectation from the start.
  23. No not overkill at all. Totally needed as it has t support a lot of motion in your TK. Ps. Theres no such thing as overkill!
  24. Except today when I found an old in my pants ... mostly due to dancing in my TK I think. Jenny why didn't you tell me I have a tear in my pants! LOL j/k I dont think you can see it from outside, so I think it's just abrasion from the butt plate.
