  1. Read as many build threads as possible and enjoy the process!
  2. So I cut my cod. Initially I wasn’t going to, but as I like my ab section nice and snug, I discovered that I could in no way use the washroom without taking the armour off. So I made a straight across cut. As I am 6’2, this would also give me the opportunity to lengthen my ab section a little bit, so I added 2 cm of extra space, this gives my cod a little breathing room and a bit more length, thus filling in the thigh black gap a little bit more. I simply used three Velcro strips to hold it in place. It stays in position very nicely, and still feels nice and secure. When the belt is on, you cannot tell it is cut at all. The belt covers it perfectly. When I need to use the washroom, I just unclip the snap holding the cod to the but plate, lift and away one goes. I left some extra strap on the strap so it is easier to grab a hold of.
  3. So I have redone the padding on the inside of my helmet. I had the original foam flower and chin strap, however once I am fully dressed I can't do up the strap! So I cut out some foam and after some tickering, found comfortable placement. It is comfy and feels nice and secure.
  4. I am curious as to what people have in the way of an emergency TK kit that you take when out trooping. I can think of thing such as: Velcro w/scissors Spare snaps for ones that pop off and something to attach them Batteries Any other thoughts, suggestions? Especially want to hear from you veterans! This would be good info for all the newbies
  5. Enjoy! Lots of work and lots of fun! Make sure to read as many build threads as you can to get as many tips as you can
  6. Took a bunch of costume pics (so I have good pics for my 501st profile), then played around with photoshop, and ended up creating a more appropriate signature. It came out very nice if I do say so
  7. Welcome back AJ! I ordered some off the 501rst site, but yours definitely look better .When you are back I'll for sure grab a pair
  8. I have to do something different with my helmet. I have the original foam flower and chin strap, however once I am fully dressed I can't do up the strap! My arms can't get up to my chin! So I am thinking about lining the inside with some basic foam to help secure the fit. Just when you think you think you are almost done!
  9. Bit by bit. Enjoy the build. I just finished mine. After spending three months on it, I'm like, what do I do now with my time!
  10. Here is a link for but joints http://www.whitearmor.net/fisd/Tutorials-legs
  11. I did the same with mine. I botched one of my ears and then decided to flush the ear to the helmet, eliminating the seam. I really like the look of it. But I went for an idealized look as opposed to screen accurate. It is all personal taste. -----------
  12. Hmmm I have maybe thought of that, but how well does the latex glue onto the novex gloves?
  13. TK 8920 requesting status upgrade Thanks to everyone here who helped! http://www.501st.com/members/displaymember.php?userID=14166&costumeID=125
  14. It is official, TK-8920 reporting for service!! :dancing-trooper: :dancing-trooper: :dancing-trooper:
  15. So I lowered my chest and back, so they both look a bit better.
  16. GML approved my pics so just waiting on my TK number, woot! I am going to lower the chest slightly, and lower the back slightly to reduce the black gap at the back between the back and kidney. I will also lower the chest to reduce the chances of the chest popping over the ab section as I move. To do this I need to make my shoulder straps longer. I have some straps connecting the kidney to the back as well, which I will shorten to pull that tighter. Off to Michaels for more snaps! The other thing I have been thinking about is to maybe cut the cod and add in an extra 1 inch of material underneath the belt. I don`t need it for mobility, but being I have a long body, the ab section is stretched to the max. An extra inch would be a nice addition I would think. Thoughts?
  17. I know, I am going through withdrawl. However I got a lot of feedback for some tweeks, so I'm not done yet!
