TK-3967 Requesting TKC EI status[202][ATA]
Thalizar replied to Thalizar's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Thank you everyone! C6 is a for sure bet. Already have a house reserved for the week. The family will be coming and we are going to make a vacation out of it. My fiancee is working on her Royal Guard build and I will be building a Jango Fett for my daughter for her admittance to the Galactic Academy. -

What I did for placing my snaps as others suggested is sanding both surface areas, then I used CA glue then reinforced them with E6000 and let them sit overnight. Dan TK-3967

It also states that for TKC EI the stock should be in the extended position. So for EI it needs to be extended, thought this was just for centurion.
-
So what is the final word on the TD that Dashrazor made without the details. I plan to build one if it were acceptable for centurion status or will I need to build a ROTJ detonator? Thanks, Dan TK-3967
-
Thank you, I was looking at the Apex stock as well.
-
Was curious, I have armor that I believe would meet Centurion, but it would take some time for me to build a blaster to meet that standard. I need to make a ROTJ E-11 blaster that has an extended stock. That is why I questioned the way it was written.
-
But with some countries laws about carrying blasters that would block troopers in those countries from achieving EI or Centurion.
-
Under the CRL it states that blasters are optional, does this mean that you do not have to have a blaster to gain EI or Centurion status? Just curious as to how that works since the weapons do have a EI or Centurion standards.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. And I'm proud to be a part of this great community. TK3967

Thank you! I'm real excited about becoming a member. This is something I've wanted to do for years, and it's finally coming true.

Finally finished! Approval applied for. Big thanks goes out to the Wisconsin Garrison for all the support and help they have given me. A couple pics of the completed build, not approval shots just playing around at home.

I did that as well, I used the hobby knife for chip marks.
-
Actually not to much to it. What I did was use an Xacto blade and put the marks in where I wanted them. A bit more time consuming. Just lightly scrape the paint off.

Thanks Sean, your build is grea,t took alot of ideas from your build. Some more test shots. The belt is not completed yet, and sorry for the indoors shots. I used the Testors Blue Angels Blue. Still some weathering needs to be done.

I'm using an ATA kit and this kit does have a seperate kidney and butt plate. In the CRL it says that for EI the two parts need to be one solid piece. Since I have a longer torso I needed to put some shims in between my kidney and butt plate and also cut and make my abdomen plate longer. The shimming is completely hidden by my belt. Would this pass as a one piece kidney/butt piece since now it is one unit and the seem is hidden?

shimming between kidney and butt plate?
Thalizar replied to Thalizar's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Thanks for all the advice. With the cheating with the three back sections how do you compensate with your abdominal plate so that the kidney plate and abdominal plate line up? -

shimming between kidney and butt plate?
Thalizar replied to Thalizar's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
The back plate is lowered as far as it will go before it starts to look out of place. I do have a longer torso. Could try shimming the abdominal plate, but currently it sits fine. Would be hard to shim that abdominal plate. -
I'm currently in the middle of my ATA build and having a hard time closing the gap between my back plate and kidney plate. I'm 6'2" and I know that ATA can be made to fit me. But the gap is about 3 inches. If I were to place a shim where my belt would hide it, the kidney plate when closed up against the abdominal plate the top of the kidney plate now does not line up with the abdominal plate. The kidney plate now is taller. Can't really shim the abdominal plate, belt won't hide that. Will this be a major issue if you make it look good? Otherwise at wits end on how to close the gap.

I'm using ATA as my base for my commander build. For 501st acceptance this would be fine. one thing you want to look into is if you plan on taking it to EI or Centurion you will have to make some modifications. The big thing is that ATA does not have a one piece Butt/kidney plate. The ATA kit has a seperate butt/kidney plate. that is something EI will require you to have. The Commander is a mix of ANH and ROTJ so both elements are present in the build. I replaced the Butt/kidney plate with one that is one piece. Look at the CRL and see what will work for you, and how far you want to take your build. There are several subtle changes in the build which can be acheived with ATA, just depends on what you want to put into it.

First attempt at doing the upper body strapping. I do not have a liner or foam in the bucket yet so I kinda have the bobblehead look.. Also no shoulder straps on yet, wanted to see how everything sat before putting them on. Any input would be greatly welcome. I used snaps for all the connections. Also have a question, since I can't use straps that go around the biceps to secure the shoulder bells how would you go about keeping the bells in place? Any other TKCs have any good suggestions?
