  1. At the very least, I hope it gets you over the hump!
  2. 320 to smooth it out, 600/800/1000 to milk it out (wet sand), 1500 & 2000 to finish it off, and Novus or Maguiars to buff it out... voila!
  3. You are welcome to read my long, rather drawn-out, not entirely helpful build document (see below my sig banner). I am also ANH Stunt (AP) Really, if it fits comfortably, it's probably right. "Comfortably" means it's not too tight, too long, too loose, too pinchy, etc.
  4. Wow. Based on the comments, I hope they tracked those kids down.
  5. Thank you, Paul Matt: Allowing everyone an opportunity to offer Karen support is what I'm trying to do here. If you want to discuss her reasons, please do so in a PM. If you truly don't know her reasons, you don't know whether she's keeping it private for a good reason, or just personal reasons, or no reason at all. Gareth: Yes, I tend to sound autocratic when I'm aggravated ... I did ask nicely the first time. Now let's all let it go. Karin will be very sorely missed. I personally am hoping a little break will help her collect her feelings, life, time, or whatever she needs to feel comfortable being a valuable member of our community again.
  6. I am simply asking that PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT KARIN please refrain from spoiling this thread, or I will lock it and hide it. There are too many people deliberately instigating negativity throughout the forums right now and my tolerance of it as at an all time low. Karin is welcome to express her reasoning if she wishes. She has thus far chosen not to and we all must respect this decision. If people think they're being clever by drawing it out of her, be warned. it is not anyone else's business to bring it up, and to do so will be considered instigation.
  7. NO MORE WORDS OR SPECULATION ON THIS MATTER. Let's respect Karin's thread. Feel free to post your feelings about Karin, not about anyone else. Thank you.
  8. I believe separate is acceptable, as long as you can't see the seam under the belt. Don't take mine as the final word, but I am Centurion and mine is separated. However, a few months ago I glued it back together and I no longer recommend separating unless there's a need to. I hope that's a good start to an answer!
  9. KARIN: I am a big fan of yours and hope this isn't permanent. Yeah I'm not sure how any of us put up with the likes of you, alohaman!
  10. Hey just want to chime in here... and remind everyone that people misinterpret each other's wording and intentions all the times on forums everywhere, and FISD is generally the most friendly place around. At least when I'm on... so I can lay the smack down on non-fun. Anyway, Eric's comment was directed at Gaz for being less than helpful. Those two have a long history of friendly sniping, and it was not really helpful to poor Dominick, but nevertheless don't take it the wrong way. All right, back on topic! Rasheed, I see that was your first post here, so I assume you've been doing a lot of reading and research. Let us know if you have any specific questions, too!
  11. Ehrmrghrd! Rubies helmet FX armor............. all wrong, all wrong!!!
  12. if it's just a wrong answer then problem solved.. if not...
  13. I call it the clown trooper.
  14. She's working on a clone helmet!? THE HORROR! What a traitor!
  15. Jason F. Young I am trying to register for whitearmor.net and it keeps telling me that "Your answer to the challenge question was not valid. Please try again" Now I know I am not the brightest pea in the pod, but...
  16. Hiya, staffers, I was given info offline about someone unable to register today, and told it might be related to the security question. Just a heads up and somewhere to start looking... sorry I'm not more help, unless there's something I can do. Ing
  17. QFT! I'll post pics eventually............
  18. NO KIDDING. Last year I was just there to help and should have brought my shiny. Still, we wouldn't have outdone the clones. They went critical. Well, like Ralf says, there will be an EP!C surge this year! I am oh so tempted to show up just for the photo balance. For those who aren't familiar with the TK Pride that comes with a Fire Team, DO IT. Ask me how. Our fire team, the Endor Party Crashers, is on fire! The camaraderie is so inspiring and amazing how it draws people to troops they might otherwise choose not to attend. Or DV is also an EP!C TK, our Boba Fett is an EP!C TK, and bunch of the others pictured here are fire team members... they just chose to wear other costumes because we had a very solid TK presence ----------- Definitely! Also what excites me is when it's the mom or dad who just has to have their photo with the TKs, and they hand their iPhone or camera to their 9-year-old... lol! QFT! Kidding, I actually loved seeing you in black at CVI, like you were the officer in charge of all the shiny (and partly yellowed) TKs...which seems fitting, not sure why
  19. No no, I've got one of those of my own. Note to self: Never Red-Eye With Children.
  20. Yeah, it takes some time unless you're a group that's already pretty much a group!
  21. Fire teams are cool. The Endor Party Crashers (EPiC) Fire Team has become a sensation in Southern California. When the DZs start racking up Tuskens for a troop, we answer the call in great numbers! When Route 66 Sandtroopers troop together, they have an identity - we're working on that with our fire team as well. And when new TKs introduce themselves at the SCG forums, we welcome them in and help them with their builds. It's a great sub-sub-community of Troopers Helping Troopers Be Awesome.
  22. Hi, Tim! I'd suggest not painting the armor, especially not such a nice juicy suit as the AP. Nobody sees the inside anyway, if it fits you properly, and you run the risk of bleeding black onto the edges or overspray onto the suit, and then you have to paint or sand the outside as well. Also, wherever the suit rubs against other parts of the suit - i.e. the inside of the chest piece over the outside of the ab piece - you will get significantly more visible discoloration and scuffing than normally happens. Some older types of armor did require painting on the outside, in which case you could also paint the inside, as may be the case in the video (it doesn't play for me). Some troopers paint the inside of their helmets black, which looks cool to the wearer but I'm not sure it serves any real function. That's my $0.02, but you are, of course, free to do what you please. Ingrid
