  1. Well you have basic and PO to play with weathering so you get plenty of practice. Wear junk clothing and prepare to spend HOURS painting. Buy some brown wash cloths and paint sponges for the application.
  2. What's wrong? Even on the movie used helmet, lines are a bit shaky. Unless you're one of those weirdos that like idealized instead of screen accurate, leave it be and hand paint everything.
  3. In case any sandtrooper recruits or anyone who have followed my thread are interested, I just submitted for Police Officer status. You can follow along here: http://forum.mepd.net/index.php?showtopic=14566
  4. Airborne Trooper because I was in the 82nd Airborne Division and was a paraTROOPER, now a sandTROOPER. Even my TD ID plays homage to my military service. 82573 = 82nd Airborne, 5th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment.
  5. For the back of the shins yes. I would do something much more permanent for the kidney.
  6. If your twisted pairs are terminated differently then the color will be different than the schematics. IEEE standards with the clip facing down and looking above is White/Orange Orange White/Green Blue White/Blue Green White/Brown Brown.
  7. I'm no longhorn but I'll be throwing horns in the sky in 2 weeks at a big concert festival here. The wife and I went all out and got VIP tickets
  8. I have my arms completely attached with glued in elastic. I collapse the shoulder bell so it basically covers the whole bicep, then fit that inside the shin, the shin inside the thigh. I unsnap my right chest to back elastic so the rest of the torso is a clamshell. I put the right leg first and the left leg goes next to it but facing the opposite direction. I usually unsnap my belt and fit it towards the back of the box. I can fit my armor, boots, blaster, pauldron, pouches, and repair items in my 25g no problem. Yes, it does push squish the armor some but not enough to cause any cracking. I lined my box with SW fleece fabric and I usually put my pauldron and undersuit on top of the armor before I close the lid.
  9. If you don't mind waiting up to a year, go with ATA as it's the most affordable. Other options are MTK, AM, AP to name a few. If you want UK, check out TM and RS Props. Check out the Getting Started section.
  10. That's the same S trim that I use no problems.
  11. I wear nomex flight gloves instead of the chemical ones so that helps a little. Drink a lot of water the day BEFORE a troop. Do the day on you'll be peeing all day instead of trooping. Other than fans and maybe a cool bandanna under your neck seal, there isn't much you can do. Hope for a nice breeze!
  12. On the rear left thigh, i would cut that pointed part of the return edge so it's flush with the other half. On the rear right, trim that cover strip. It should end before the return edge.
  13. Looking good. Might want to add some snaps towards the edges of the butt plate to keep it from flaring out. You have them kinda close so just add 2 more. You don't have to, but it helps. The ear gaps look fine. If you're going SWAT in the future, then you'll be staring at screenshots and other SWAT member's pictures religiously.
  14. Look at some Centurion Anovos approvals and even look at screenshots from ANH, plenty of armor out there with some ridge showing. Just use E6000
  15. Try to drop your biceps down a bit to eliminate the gap. Basically right above your elbow. Everything else is just the nature of the beast because you're tall. Won't effect basic submission but later on you can get some of TM's XL shins.
  16. Ahmad, just wanted to reassure you that you're on the right track. You may end up wanting to add additional straps towards the end of the butt plate to keep it from sticking out.
  17. You really should remove that over spray on the teeth. It'll really make it look that much better.
  18. Hopefully you can get it straightened out so you can get the approval ball rolling!
  19. Another convert! We have the big guns and cooler packs!
  20. I don't blame you! You'll have to do your best to recreate it. Just make sure you put that into your calculations when trimming.
