  1. This is not a build thread, but more of a JLP
  2. Post away, never get tired of the hero
  3. Enjoy and get a tan!
  4. I am always visiting this thread, amazing work. Cheers
  5. Waiting till you have the right paint brush is a good move, I found that out the hard way.
  6. Congrat's on your new armor, you look great.
  7. Nice job on the helmet. The ear gaps are fine, but if your not happy just use some sandpaper to fine tune it. You can polish out that scratch with novus and it wont be so noticable.
  8. The inner shins have a more curved shape. When you trim the front for the coverstips and hold the pieces together you will see it more easily. Your last pic looks like the right leg shin parts.
  9. The kit looks pre trimmed for the most part, the girth on the parts can be trimmed to fit you, but the lenth be carefull, better to post pic's before you cut.
  10. Oh man! I wish I could of stopped you at the first pic, but hey, whats done is done.
  11. The part you cut off you need, you should of lined up the back edges and cut off the excess at the wrist end. Should be an easy fix, of course you will have to contact the armor maker for new inner pieces.
  12. True, the bottom edge of the kidney is longer then the top edge.
  13. Looks great, I really like the hand painted helmets. The tube stripes look really nice, did you make your own stencils? Thanks for posting the step by step pic's. I have an ata helmet that is hand painted and real happy with it too..
  14. I have seen some approved using this method on the back of the thighs. The DO will chime in on this.
  15. I would leave the front strip and make a wedge strip like this chap did http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/18177-any-major-problems-before-i-apply/
  16. Ho'omaika'i 'Ana
  17. This is how TM does larger thighs, scroll down and take a look. The front looks 25-30mm and the back is a wedge shape to your size. If TM did it this way you cant go wrong. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/21985-15-mm-tm-herostunt-with-original-strapping/
  18. Looks good, the finishing strip on front of the shins runs the the whole lenth of the shin, but the back stops at the rear shin upper detail.
  19. Try to avoid the heatgun if possible, and make your side straps shorter so they have some tension on them. Here is a shot of armor like yours. Notice there is enough tension on the elastic to bring the parts together. You may also have to trim the same amount off the butt piece that was trimmed off the kidney. These a just suggestions, the pieces look pretty good with the belt on them, making the straps shorter may help. --------------- ------------
  20. Glad you got it sorted out. Since you have glued the snap plates in, they may have to be removed so you can trim a bit off the sides of the kidney piece. They should be easy to take off if you are using e6000. Just dont trim too much off, in case you gain a few Lbs. The armor should fit you, but not tight. I tuck the kidney piece about 1/4" on each side behind the ab plate, gives alittle room to expand without showing a big gap. Tape it together and see how it fits before you glue the snaps back in. Your build is going by fast, for starting less than a week ago.
  21. Wow, your build is looking really clean. One thing though, I noticed the kidney piece may be upside down. The top edge is a little shorter then the bottom edge, you can tell by holding it up to your backside, the edges that connects to the ab should run straight up and down. Kind of hard to tell from you pic's. without a side shot.
  22. The templets I use bleed once in a while, probably because I didn't take enough time to get them seated properly. There is always one side that will come out perfect and the other side.. I"ll use the toothpick. Painting the details is definitly worth the extra work.
  23. If the paint bled thru just alittle bit, you can let it dry and scrape off the excess with a wooden toothpick.
