  1. What's the largest someone can be for the AP to fit? I'm getting down there in weight, but I'm just such a "wide" dude I doubt I'll ever get in one.
  2. I believe this link is rampant on here, but here's where I ordered mine from.
  3. File them out larger is the main thing... if you think they need it. Here's the best MR CE Overhaul thread out there... just FYI.
  4. Ah yes... I see it now! Thanks! ANH original stunt helmet (photo from Helmet Archive)
  5. So is this little "gap" in the frown canon, or just something you did?
  6. Wow... that is a lot of fun! Very, very nicely done!! When you get tired of that one and upgrade keep me in mind.
  7. Was the helmet assembled when you trimmed the brow? Or did you just "set it up" to gauge the area and then trim it separated?
  8. Man, that is looking GOOD man! I can not wait to get mine and mod it! Did you seal the sides of yours like Luis did his? It looks like you did... but you didn't have pics of it in process so I thought I'd ask. Also, any tips on taking the helmet apart completely? I will really try and look at it to see if I can find out the best way when I'm doing mine. Again, great job!!!
  9. Wow, wow, wow!!! I can't wait!!! This is looking so great man... fantastic!
  10. I would guess it's more important to replace the lenses before the hovis, correct? Do the hovis NEED to be replaced... or can that wait until I have extra $20 to get Stomper's... and do his work with the MR? (I'm going to be posting a lot of questions on here I think)
  11. I was driving to a meeting this afternoon, thinking about stormtroopers (as always) and just wondered if anyone had ever hollowed out the space behind the ears on their bucket? If someone cut out the space on the helmet between the ears they could have room for headphones in there... maybe even mount a small external mic on your belt or something and you'd be able to hear people and your surroundings in amplified stereo. Haha... just a weird idea. Anyone ever done this?
  12. Well, I've ordered my MR CE and am now anxiously awaiting arrival! I want to thank you Luis for a GREAT tutorial here! I'm still deciding what all I'm going to do to mine right out of the gate... since I have a good FX bucket right now I can spare the time it takes to do this right and be very proud of it. But, of course, I'm also anxious to just start trooping in it. So, a couple of questions: 1) What are the minimum things you need to do to make the MR troop / 501st worthy? From what I gather they are... a) swap out the lenses... fill in the "gap"... c) fix the teeth (??) d) put the screws in the ears correctly. That right? Things I missed? Things you don't have to do? 2) What is the "Squadron Putty" that Don mentioned and where do I get it? Thanks again guys... this is a great thread and I hope to post pics of mine on here in a month or so! EDIT: You can ignore those questions about the minimum... I just went back through the entire thread and really this isn't that much to do to make it this good. I think I'll just plan on doing it all.
  13. The MR CE bucket meets the requirements of the Elite status, right? (with mods obviously) I know that may be a silly / obvious question, but before I invest in one I wanted to ask. Better safe than sorry.
  14. I also suggest you------------- While all those mods aren't necessary there are many that are needed to make it 501st ready.
  15. 1) How long have you been a fan of Star Wars? Since my older brothers saw it in 1977 and came home and drew pictures of Jawas for me and told me all about it. 2) What first made you a fan of the franchise? Seeing ESB when it was released. In other words as soon as it became a franchise I was a fan. 3) What got you into costuming? My mom and dad. We are a costuming family and my mom would suggest things to make us, Jawas for one, for Halloween / Thanksgiving, birthdays, Saturday, Mid-week, etc. 4) What function does the Internet play in being a fan? In being a fan not much really. I was a fan before and I would still be without it. In ENHANCING my life as a fan, it's invaluable! It allows me to become part of a whole, tap into other fan's minds, share and interact easily no matter my geographical location.
  16. Hey, it's not us, it's that faulty batch of E-11s that were distributed around 0 - 5 BY.
  17. Man... this looks like a great solution to all the problems you mentioned. Let me know how it goes, and I may end up following suit!
  18. Just get a magic eraser and remove them then put new ones on. There are 100* guys that make / sell them, including Lor in the Mountain Garrison. *not actual number
  19. I went to university for 9 years and have no degree. I now own my own advertising and design agency... what that means mostly now-a-days is that I get paid to make websites for people. Which is good because I love doing it. I love this thread idea... I find it really interesting the diversity of people that troop... and the jobs we have are (while not always accurate) a pretty good barometer of that diversity.
  20. Totally agree. Ask some of the guys around your area if they want to trek down to you for an unofficial troop (the more of you the more imposing)... then have a least one handler with you! And make sure the handler has a camera... we want pics!
  21. That is some really nice looking armor. Looks like a lot of work too... though I can picture myself doing that in a few years... once I completely wear down my FX.
