  1. These really are awesome helmets. We could only dream of something so accurate a few years ago. Awesome work RS!
  2. I'm a fan of screen accuracy. It's harder to assemble something to lo
  3. Awesome pics Tom. Did you get my email? Joe
  4. It's funny that fans can consistently vac form helmets in ABS but massive wealthy companies cannot! You just need to use the same batch of plastic for the whole run and then time the heating of the plastic to the second. Not rocket science really....
  5. Great work so far. In my humble opinion the toes look a little too pronounced, bordering on a steel toe cap look. Just my 2 cents... Joe
  6. There are loads of reputable buyers on this forum. Just AVOID eBay and you will get sorted with top quality fan made armour! Sellers on here include: RS Props TM CfO ATA Authentic Props To name a few... JoeR
  7. Mad how an Australian visiting the UK started it all off!
  8. They had a haircell texture on the moulds or plastic. ESB paper decals ANH mix tips ANH recast ears Glues together not riveted Foam star liner Squared drown the same as the ATAT helmets Slightly fatter ANH shaped face There's possibly one screenshot in the carbon chamber that could be one, check with TM. My original came from the set of ROTJ, on the docking bay set. There have been four helmets found as far as I know...
  9. Thanks Mathias I don't know the differences in the armour, hopefully Paul can explain!
  10. Nice pictures. As TM Paul has discovered the assembled armour is ESB Mark II on the mannequin (John B's suit) so not strictly ROTJ, and the forearms are GINO replicas, from the TE moulds. Thanks for sharing. Maybe we should do an ESB Mark II thread as well to show the differences?
  11. We've been in this game over a decade now Paul. Madness.... What is that stuffed in the mic tips? J-cloth?
  12. ESB Mark II in there! That was the prop masters helmet. Now sold on.
  13. Thanks guys. The more the better. Points to TM and SSkunky for the quantum leap reference!!!
  14. I love ROTJ helmets as everyone knows! This thread is to share information and pictures. Mark and I are building up what we think are the ultimate replicas, with hard hat liners, accurate decals and Newey snaps etc. I have a ton of pictures and will post these. Guess the original TV prop for extra points! 911 Auction Helmet and other Mandel original Hot glue residue is accurate! Profiles Auction Helmet On set on ROTJ
  15. Here's another three shots of the helmet, after it was pinched in the UK (no lenses), then at screenused on display and with their ANH helmet. It's interesting how different the same helmet can look under different lighting etc. I wish I could have raised £30,000 and got this at the time, shame I was super skint! :-( JoeR
  16. I'm looking forward to someone doing a proper aged/weathered one. Paint em up fellas, there were no unpainted helmets in the movies! :-) JoeR
  17. Sending positive thoughts from the UK. :-)
  18. That's the one Paul, it was stolen from the display then offered to Propstore and Screenused. Screenused sold it to a private collector about 2 years ago and now it's at Profiles. It sold last for £30,000 do someone's in for a nice windfall!
  19. Yours are awesome, I was meaning any more good reference pictures or screenshots.
  20. Any more input from anyone? Joe
  21. Great work Mark! Joe
  22. Legend! :-) @ Mark, your reason cracks me up!!!!
  23. Thank you. Awesome forum with an insane collective knowledge!
  24. Mine is just my name Joe Rea, pronounced Ray, not very exciting! I do like the fact that it is immortalised in a helmet, would be cool to have a JoeR ROTJ helmet sitting on a shelf somewhere long after I'm gone... :-)
  25. Amazing work Rolf, and even more amazing is the speed you do it at! You're a machine!
