I'm sure what you mean to say is, those who abuse the privelege of personal internet use at work should have their rights restricted or removed. At least that is how I'll choose to interpret your comments, rather than you calling us all lazy and spoiled.
How does surfing the FISD on my lunch hour make me lazy and spoiled? I look at reasonable, personal internet use at the workplace sort of like air conditioning. Here's an experiment: wait until the hottest day of the year, and cut the AC. When people start bitching about how they've had it all these years and suddenly it gets shut off without warning, tell them they should be happy they've had it all those years. Companies aren't required to keep it nice and cool. Ever worked in a dry cleaner's?
Don't get me wrong. I think people who surf the net all day at work need reprimand. I work at a large architectural/engineering office where supposedly we had people day-trading all day at work (this amazes me since everyone sits in plain view of each other). The problem I have is when everyone gets punished for the actions of a few. When I was in grade school, the whole class had to miss recess with our heads down on our desks all because two kids in the back of the class wouldn't stop screwing around. It wasn't fair then, either.
And if you are implying that I don't understand exactly what National Socialism was in Germany in the 30's and 40's, let me assure you I do and that my title of this thread was extremely tongue-in-cheek. C'mon.
