  1. I saw ANH in 1977...when I was 12 yrs old.
  2. LOVE IT! very cool!!! (did you change the motto too or has that been changed for a while?)
  3. just got a new 'puter and I might slap that on there...although believe it or not I still play Medal of Honor Allied Assault online...lol (love that game)
  4. a little more info from the source:
  5. some thought that the absence of shoulder straps pointed to a TD, but I definitely see the trap lines. Could be pieced together for an appearance...? and the rubber gloves...ooooh sweaty hands!!!
  6. photo courtesy of Jeremy (gonk27) over at the Prop Den, this awesome pic shows what appears to be an ANH trooper (sandy, maybe) mobbed by kids outside. Check out the hand plate.
  7. can't add to what others have said...they stole my thunder. looks great and good luck!
  8. looks fantastic. one question: how tall are you? you look to be one tall dude judging from the size of the thigh pieces

    Mesa back!!!

Wow I dont know what rock Ive been living under but I just heard about this. My very best wishes to you Tony. Here's to a very speedy recovery! Oh and I hope the guy you took down is feeling some pain too!!! Scott
  10. wow it's gettin to be a full page there.... looks great!
  11. also looks to be Vader's gloved hand on the right...cropped out and the brown background filled in...is that what you guys are seeing?
  12. looks amazing, esp for the price... it fits you like a frikkin glove. I'd consider reinforcing those shoulder straps one day (I learned the hard way that they need it )
  13. looks like a sandy knee plate, too? and no green lenses (unless when he "electronically altered" the shot he got rid of the green. hmmm.) Very cool at any rate...i had never seen this. My gut reaction is it's probably real, and he was probably a background extra. Lots of those dudes had stuff wrong with their outfits.
  14. darn nice job on that armor! what exactly do you use for your lenses? it's got a great green sheen. best of luck!
  15. (psssst: hard hat liner) lol

  18. LOL! well said! photoshopped for comparison =) me on the right...about to get clubbed over the head!
  19. I have a question on the painting of the boots...hopefully not derailing the thread here. Is there a type/brand of paint/stain/pigment that's best to use on the leather? Is there a trick to applying the white so that the shin armor doesnt simply carve the paint right off after a few troops? tnx...
  20. not yet...good point. I left the bottom screws attached and simply tilted the face forward. i'll see how this suits me and definitely consider further tweaks. every day I look at it and see something I want to tweak...I think I need a therapist.
  21. i will dissent and say hard hat liner, all the way. it provides me better circulation than foam against my noggin by far. I end up with a half-inch or so of space between the top of my head and the bucket and it's great. Plus, it comfortably holds the bucket in place well so that when I turn my head quickly, the bucket goes with it and stops with it without continuing to spin!
  22. repositioned the faceplate tonight. I was looking for more, even whitespace below the brow, and a corrected angle relationship between the face and forehead. always bugged me that the nose looked cocked back and out of alignment with the forehead... I modeled it after the dude on the left: before: after: I realize it will never be perfect, but I figured I could always go back to the other drill holes =). Contemplating curving the bottom of the eyelids...I'm afraid to trim em into an arc though...no going back on that one
  23. lol awesome
