  1. Look pretty spiffy to me. Much better than my armour.
  2. Ah nice one. Thanks for the lightning fast reply.
  3. Hi. Just got a lovely set of, Jesse's metal TD clips. Does anyone have the correct measurements to position them? I.E how far along the pipe do they go from the ends, how big is the gap between them. Cheers. Rickster.
  4. Cheers for the feedback everyone. Yeah damn wonky lid. But it'll have to do for the time being as I'm broke and can't really afford to spend money on a new lid, especially a TM lid. I also have the shoulder problem like you. Did you ever find a good solution? I know I suggested a few methods, which I'll try, but just wondering if you came up with a proper solution.
  5. Easy for you, not so easy to my virgin eyes. I think I'll leave the shins as they are. If I ever decide to upgrade my armour, the next build I do I'll know there's a difference.
  6. Well if the shins are indeed different and there is a right and left, I'd say that's more down to the recasted crap armour I have. Also the sniperplate is now riveted to the shin, so I'm a bit stuck. I didn't notice there was a difference and unless it's a major problem, it's gonna have to stay the way it is unfortunately. I'm not going for uber accuracy centurion or elite level anyway. The helmet, as far as I'm aware, is a recast of the SDS helmet. ========= This pic was taken before I replaced the ears and stuck on the hovi mic mesh.
  7. Yeah sniper plate on left shin, ammo boxes on right thigh. I have a pic with me front on with my arms at my side, but the shoulder bell moved. I'll ned to sort that problem out and get them to stay in the correct position. -------- Like I said, this is more a test fitting as I haven't had my belt back from you yet. Hopefuly that'll arrive next week. I'm also missing my TD as I'm waiting for my lips from Jesse. *****EDIT**** if you look closely, you can see the thigh armour is held in position with masking tape. I have elastic with snaps, but I need to lose about 2" so they sit higher. Also noticing the shoulder straps look a bit off, but that is effected by the higher sitting back piece. Once I get it sitting right I can adjust the straps to look more accurate.
  8. Ok today I had a test fitting of my armour to see what needs to be altered. I can see a few problems, chest too high, bak too high. Thigh elasti too long, helmet too low. But I can easily fix those issues. So here's a little pic to tide you over so you don't think I've given up.
  9. Postal workers get treated like crap. Hopefuly their union can sort out some agreement with the managers. A 50% pay-cut seems redicilous. Nobody likes strikes, buyers, sellers and especialy the actual workers. You might miss out on a package, but the workers miss out on a days pay. So fingers crossed for you, because we've had a few postal strikes in the UK over the years.
  10. Is it me, or are those hand-guards absolutely huge?
  11. If you want the cheaper option, go with the hasbro mod. That's what I did.
  12. Don't worry. I was too scared to cut and trim, then Mr John Danter showed me what to do and I got on with it and wondered what I was worrying about. It is daunting doing your first build, but once you get into it, it's no real problem. There's a wealth of info on the forums here and if you need help or confirmation on anything, the peeps here are more than happy to help. Good luck!
  13. Hot chocolate is pretty good for helping you sleep. Listening to relaxing music helps me doze off. Not my usual heavy metal.
  14. Awesome suit you have there and congrats on the approval.
  15. It's one and the same really. I personally use the off-white coloured masking tape. You just want tape that isn't too sticky and the paint won't go through it.
  16. I used elastic for everything. Unless you need it to be rigid, use elastic. If you need it to be more rigid, use webbing.
  17. Eww that's one ugly helmet. The 1977 released helmets looked better than that. How much are you looking to spend anyway?
  18. I don't have AP armour, but I cut the front and the back. I don't have cover strips on the rear. It also depends how it fits you.
  19. You wouldn't have to spend $250 JUST for a helmet. The rubies one is a bit crappy looking, but if your budget is only about $50 you'll have to make do.
  20. Any chance of getting some pictures of you wearing them? Maybe then we can figure out some sort of solution for you.
  21. Are you talking about foam at the forehead and back of the head to stop the helmet moving forward and backwards?
  22. What about sticking some bicycle clips inside so they clip around the tops of your arms?
  23. Having issues with the shoulders? I haven't glued my straps on yet, but I've put on the snap plates and the elastic. I'm having a slight issue with my plastic belt part. I was going to put the snaps on today, but there doesn't seem to be enough of the metal sticking through to hammer the ends together. I'll have to take a pic later as a picture speaks a thousand words.
  24. Definitely. I have a pen-pal in Japan. I've sent her an email and I hope she's ok. I know there's a few members that post here from over there. I hope everything is well.
