  1. Yea! I like seeing everybody's pictures. I'm going to show my armor at work - in hopes of winning a silly prize for me and my co-workers in my dept. I bet I find out where all my armor bites are. The "prize" is we will get to wear jeans for two weeks. Too bad it isn't food or money. Oh well, we take what we can get and are happy to have a job.
  2. Ummm, it looks like your cat wants to KILL you... Might want to take that hat off of him. His name isn't "Mr. Bigglesworth" by any chance? Just wondering.
  3. Anybody go to a Halloween party last night? I did, but had to leave at 10pm so I could make it to work today. Just wondering what's been going on over this weekend + Monday for everybody. Hope you all have [had] fun! Imhotep and Anck Su Namun This is my hubby. He's a former cop. He's assuming the position. My mask I made... Jello shots... I made Anck-Su-Namin for DragonCon 2 years ago.
  4. I bet ALL of our girlie troopers have hidden girlie-solutions in their armor. We're like that. I bet I'm not the first, but if i am, I want a special certificate for that!!! haaa haaaaa
  5. was feeling way too manly - so had to be a little girly. Now I really want to look into the Jes Gistang build. She's cool!
  6. Sometimes you just gotta cough up the extra dough. It's the little things in life that make it worth living. Thanks for the encouragement. I was really wanting Mighty Tank's garters - Buuuut I didn't plan very well, and needed a holder before Halloween. I still might ended up getting a set from him. I'll be sure to ask for his very best lace!
  7. My shoulders were floppy, so I got some help. You don't want floppy shoulder bells.
  8. Look at you, looking all AWESOME!!! Very NICE, Dude!
  9. We'll have to get us some 501st approved hair nets!!! I've accidentally gotten my hair stuck in the hair dryer motor... very stinky. That wouldn't be good in a helmet. UPDATE for today: Worked on a corset type binding system for my belly/back piece. It's still drying from being E-6000'ed. I'll get pics tomorrow after adding leather cord (left over from another costume.) Worked on thigh garter system, but don't recommend this for dudes. [i'm not judging, though... do whatever you want, it's all good!] I E-6000'ed the plastic holder in the thighs. [That's the part that holds up yer nylons.} It might not work after my 1st troop, but thought I'd try it.
  10. You got split rivets? You're going for the super awesome certificate! Awesome build thread! :leia:
  11. Didn't think about hair after actually getting all the armor on... Wow.. I really gotta work on this... but I'm close! Totally stuffed my cod piece.... Yikes, knee plate got tucked.
  12. Still need to make thigh garters, fix side ab closure, fix shoulder bell placement, probably adjust thermal det, and adjust helmet liner. Besises ALL of that... let me know what you guys/girls think. Thanks :leia: ...belt is way too high,, cause I dont have the ab closed yet.... will work on tomorrow... Gotta give bondservant all the credit here Guess I was airing out.. sure gets HOT suiting up. OMG!!! I'm a bit worried about my holster placement.... ????
  13. Wooo Hooo!!! Awesome job, Sir! [i will be submitting for my EIB in a week ~ hopefully.] I got some good tips by going over your pics. Thanks! Congrats!!! :leia:
  14. Found some interesting stuff here.... http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=17213&hl=%2Brotj+%2Bbuild&fromsearch=1
  15. Hi, not sure if this helps.... but if you keep reading down the whole thread, they talk about ROTJ Thermal Det..... But, ya might need to keep looking. I still need to finish my TD, but it's ANH, not RoTJ. Good luck! ----------- Not sure about the ab replacement buttons... Somebody else will chime in though!
  16. Wooo Hooo, ALEX! Yea!!! I think it's lookin' awesome, but Stormtrooper ALWAYS look awesome to me! :leia: I think your build all depends on you. I'm sure you've seen this site, but here it is again: http://www.whitearmor.net/fisd/Crl I'm too new to be able to spot which style you are going for, or if you need to have a style. Right now, I'm concentrated on the ANH - Stunt style, so that's about all I can make guesses on... I did notice your ammo belt might be more comfortable with a heat bend. You can use a hair dryer, or hot water, but - once again, it's toltally up to you. I like that part about the FISD. You cvan go nuts and fret and worry - not that THAT is bad, or you can build it and then go TROOPING!!! I strayed again... here's one of several good sites for the belt: http://forum.whitearmor.net/index.php?showtopic=8757 For me, I like this site because it tells you what you need for each level you want to achieve: http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt This is for A New Hope Stunt, but if you are looking for ROTJ or ESB, look on the forums main page, on the left under Film Canon CRL's. Anyway, CONGRATS! Looks good!!!
  17. Howdy Dan, I had a whole paragraph of the places I look for EI info, then accidentally hit the back button and lost it. Crap! haaa haaa... But, I'm on your plan too.... It's my 1st build and I wanted to go for EI from the start just like you... for the same reasons. Not too sure I've saved any money... :leia: I seem to keep buying this or that for my build, but I love it, when I can afford it. I like the Tips n Tricks sections, looking at everybody else's build sections, reading the questions people have, and I'm constantly looking at this: http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt Are you going to do a new hope? That site is for a new hope - stunt.. but I'm sure you know there are all the versions in that area. I found it on the forums home page, to the left side. When you finally do get your box you'll probably have that same excitement you did as a kid at birthdays or Christmas. That part is really fun. Be sure to share the joy with everybody here, too! Congrats on your purchase!!! Take care, Jenny
  18. Hey Dan. I got AP armor with the helmet and the helmet fits me, but not my hubby. He has a larger head... not sure the exact size. He's 6'4" - 215lbs. I'm not that big. I know you can enlarge the helmet somewhat, but be careful and ask about dimensions if you go with an AP bucket. I plan on getting my husband RT-Mod.... since he has a big 'ol head! I'm sure you will make an awesome set of armor. Jenny
  19. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
  20. Congrats on your new bucket. Whatcha getting?
