1. Thank you FISD staff for keeping this forum the unquestionable source of knowledge that has allowed us to reach the 1000 EIB goal!
 2. Just because LFL "approves" of them shouldn't necessarily translate to they should be approvable by us. If that were the case then what's stopping us from approving suits that match the OT Disneyland suits, which time and time again we rip on for not being accurate.

This isn't a cheap hobby nor is it easy, but that's why places like FISD exist so that we can share knowledge for those willing to look for it.
 3. Fantastic job! Congrats to our new DL and thank you to Eric and all the staff for their contributions to FISD.
 4. I feel bad for the R2s out there. They take an immense amount of punishment. I've wrangled for them a few times and have come short of shoving kids out of he way to prevent serious damage. And the parents do nothing! That's the most infuriating part.

But trooping wise I've been what could be classified as molested by 12 year olds, groped, etc. at a Boy Scout event once. We assumed the adults would supervise for us. Nope. Never assume they will. Thank your wranglers people!
 5. Heavy! Drop it and it may break.
 6. PANIC?! WHO'S PANICKING?!!! Mine just arrived this morning. Can't wait to get out of work and see it for myself, that way I can stop bugging y'all.
 7. Let me rephrase that. Would this be the beginning of answering the question we all have been asking, can the Anovos kit satisfy the CRL requirements with the necessary mods. Are there other mods that will need to be done? etc.
 8. So would this be the first step into clearing this armor for approval? Granted with the modifications most of us already aware of.
 9. I went ESB because it's my favorite movie. I tend to be a sentimental person so ESB was a clear choice for me. The ROTJ tends to be less popular not just cause of what happened on that moon, but the armor looks a bit weird and not as tight. Probably the result of having a mass produced kit. Regardless, whenever I'm asked I tell people to follow their heart. If you like ROTJ then go for it.
 10. Great job as always! Makes me proud of being a part of FISD.
 11. Actually I was referring to the officer boots.
 12. The boots are a pain to find, a pain to buy, and an even bigger pain to wear. -___-
 13. The low price was the reason so many people jumped on the preorder (Myself included). But as I'm quick to mention, this isn't a cheap hobby. Not trying to be mean, just realistic specially once you start adding accessories.

In the meantime anyone ready to start armor partying?!
 14. This hobby requires patience. ALOT of patience.
 15. Great job so far! Will definitely recommend this thread to our newbies in socal.
 16. damn that's a great idea. will definitely check it out.
 17. OT TK are really small and compact. Even at 170lbs my armor is really snug. So you'll look great in it.
FOTK armor is a different story. Just about everybody ive met that has it equates to wearing football pads. It's very bulky and leaves little room for modification for shorter or thinner troopers. But that hasn't stopped people from trying. In due time armor makers will start making armor that can be fitted to most people.
 18. Hello and welcome! Your question may be found in this section: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/38-getting-started-read-this-first/

As for tools/accessories that depends on what you may already have and what you may need. You can use simpler cheaper tools like box cutters to more expensive tools such as a dremel. It all depends on what your skill level is and how much work you are willing to do.

Good luck and be sure to check out many of the build threads to give you an idea of how to put it all together.
 19. I also commented on the SLD boards concerning Anovos and the long wait time and missed deadlines for most of their products.

The difference between them and most of our armorers is that they are a legitimate company with a license. That raised expectations considering we can give individuals working on their spare time more slack if they fall behind.

Meanwhile with the price point yes it's an incredible deal hence why so many of us, myself included, ordered this kit. But we can't say they're losing money as they did outsource production to China. Perhaps it is cynical of me, but I wouldn't be quick to say they are losing massive amounts of money. Nor am I calling for them to reveal any numbers. Much like everything in this thread it's speculation.

And that's all we can really do right? I mean if people have issues with us speculating left and right then welcome to the Internet. That's over half of what people do when they log on! I'm not attackig anyone nor anything, I'm just a tad cynical but at the same time I'm optimistic that this will be an opportunity for many to suit up like many of us have and I look forward to help out.
 20. You may want to rethink your budget. Seeing a Phasma being built firsthand I can assure you this is not an inexpensive costume. In fact I may be willing to suggest that it may reach Fett or Vader levels of budget. The caroming process is not easy nor cheap unless you already have access to some of the tools necessary. That and as the CRL is still not available you may end up with some things that may end up not being up to par (the cape specifically)

Regardless good luck and be sure to document your progress as you may end up developing new and uncharted path that can help future troopers.
