welcome you should be fine with the FX armor, as for the helmet you can always upgrade that with a screen accurate one. check here first, http://forum.whitear...showtopic=11538 _____________________________________________________________________________________________ you beat me to it lol

it may work , but think of it like mixing apples and oranges, if you mix another chemical (like acrylic) to the epoxy it can affect its bonding power and how it cures, but in theory mixing an epoxy paint with epoxy resin should be slightly better because it is very similar chemically (comprised primarily of a resin and hardener) and should produce a better curing resin in the end. but testing is the only surefire way to know for sure
-
i first spayed the paint in a baby food container (holding the can up side down) then added the resin only, i mixed it several times . then added the hardener, it should be easy to apply with a small flat stick or small putty knife, but i haven't tested it out on armor yet.

i was thinking it would be perfect for a MR CE or EFX mod

i never read it anywhere here, is there already a HOW to on this? it was more of a accidental experiment thing good idea for the buttons though. if i were to use it on armor i would use a 5 min myself but i had a lot of that slow drying stuff left over to mess around with

i was in my garage putting my spray paints away for the winter, i noticed a nearly full can of rustolium appliance epoxy paint sitting next to a bottle of epoxy resin, and it got me thinking, could i mix epoxy paint with regular epoxy resin to make a glossy white filler/bonder ? well i figured i would give it a try i used 1 part paint to about 2 parts resin, mixed it several times then added the hardener this is the epoxy and paint i tested this with this was the end result after drying, a highly glossy white epoxy. the shots are taken on white porcelain to show the similar sheen and color note: i haven't done any tests on armor with this stuff yet but im sure somebody could find a use for this stuff

heres some quotes from the OT that might explain this line of thought i can see this discussion leading to the Dark Side lol A NEW HOPE\'She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid.' 'Curse my metal body, I wasn't fast enough!' 'Look at the size of that thing!' 'Sorry about the mess...' 'You came in that thing? You're braver than I thought.' 'Aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper?' 'You've got something jammed in here real good.' 'Put that thing away before you get us all killed.' 'Luke, at that speed do you think you'll be able to pull out in time?' 'Get in there, you big furry oaf, I don't care what you smell!' 'She's fast enough for you, old man.' THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK 'I must've hit it pretty close to the mark to get her all riled up like that, huh, kid?' 'That's okay, I'd like to keep it on manual control for a while.' 'Hurry up, golden-rod..' 'I thought that hairy beast would be the end of me.' 'There's an awful lot of moisture in here.' 'Possible, he came through the south entrance.' 'But now we must eat, Come...good food, come...' 'Size matters not. Judge me by my size, do you?' 'And I thought they smelled bad on the outside.' 'Control, control, you must learn control!' RETURN OF THE JEDI 'There is good in him, I've felt it.' 'Hey Luke, thanks for coming after me, now I owe you one.' 'You're a jittery little thing aren't you?' 'In time you will call me master.' 'A little higher, just a little higher.' 'I never knew I had it in me.' 'Grab it, almost..you almost got it. Gently now, alright, easy, easy...' 'Hey, point that thing someplace else!' 'What could possibly have come over Master Luke?' 'Back door, huh? Good idea!'

You might want to delete your cookies for photobucket and try logging in again. try logging in from another computer as well or have someone you trust try to log in from there computer. also what browser are you using? and have you done a scan for malware/spyware? i am not trying to alarm you or anything but from what you described it sounds like a phishing/ hijack scam. what happens is you are re-directed to a fake login page and your username and password gets sent to whomever is doing the hacking. but then again it could just be a DNS error or service issue (theres a lot of possibilities) but i always tend to err on the side of caution you can also try flushing your DNS cache http://www.tech-faq.com/how-to-flush-dns.html

looks great man just wondering.. did you remove the old tube stripes and apply new ones? or fix the existing ones ? im planning on doing a helmet mod for someone in my garrison and the only mod tutorials i could find show repainting the entire helmet, but i would like to avoid that if possible. i have some ideas but your mod looks pretty good

if you look in the upper left of the messenger under where it says "participants" you should be able to see if the person has read it or not and if they have, it will tell you what time they read it.. i do miss the pop up message notification tho, what ever happened to that?

both glues are similar forms of silicon polymer epoxy, i used automotive goop on my build for all of the flexible parts and then some (primarily because e6000 took too long to dry and i am impatient) i also tested the bonding of goop against the e6000 before i assembled and they seemed about the same IMHO goop is superior for its faster dry time, i ended up giving my tube of E6000 away to someone overseas ... also, you can add a tiny bit of superglue to goop and it makes for a super strong fast drying flexible bond, i did that on my shin parts for extra strength (i used gorilla brand super glue) and they are rock solid... but just be sure to get the parts clamped quickly it dries really fast... i will use this same method on my next kit for sure. but this is just my personal opinion oh, i forgot to mention that when i tested the E6000 vs goop that the E6000 actually softened the HIPS scrap i used , and it was slightly deformed after clamping. it may be fine for ABS but i would use it sparingly on HIPS

sweet! i can add a few more trooper sounds in place of the yoda junk i threw in:P i had a hard time finding good sound files.. thanks! i haven't been working on it for a bit because of school and a killer flu but i am hoping to get the fx player rapped up soon, then start integrating it with the static burst app, just looking at all the code i can see its gonna be a real headache but a simple hardware mod may make it a breeze

My new street show ( need advice )
dashrazor replied to Quebectrooper's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
bronze would be cool, like old roman armor -
thats great it works for you! i am still working on improving the sound FX program a bit, but i do plan to add a mic input and voice effects but it may take some time, modifying these programs in a hex editor can be quite time consuming and a bit overwhelming;)

i am somewhat proud of this accomplishment. i made a custom hombrew application for the Sony psp. it usles simple controls so there are basically no limitations to this for use as a stand alone sound FX player. especially now that used psp's can go for under 50$ it is a really good platform for the star wars movie prop enthusiast or hobbyist to use this technology for more than just playing games once i add the external switches.. this unit will be far superior to any FX player on the current market (yes it is slightly large) but the battery life of the psp is unmatched and the potential for expansion is only limited by the imagination and expertise of the person programing it my Imperial FX player DEMO here is my demo version (download it HERE) i would just like to pretty it up with a better GUI but so far it works flawlessly
-
well today i messed with a hex editor for several hours and managed to produce this program, it is called Imperial FX player ------------- it is tested on CFW 3.90 M33-3 but it should work on most firmware versions, if not just use a devhook;) to install just put the Imperal FX folder in your PSP/GAME directory i also sacrificed GUI appearance for decreased latency, if this makes any sense
-
i added some custom made t-track (the sr props ones were wonky and didn't look good) i also added the curly wires to the counter and targeting sensors
-
lol ya, i use the little one for durability testing, i just give him a blaster and let him run around with it... if anything breaks off, i reinforce it more... he is a huge star wars fan also any time he hears the theme music he runs and grabs one of his lightsabers or blasters and says "sta war... sta warrrs" it is acctually quite comical the force is strong with this one but i fear he may turn to the dark side... i just got him a rubies vader costume for halloween... this vid of him was made last spring
-
got the vid made (the t_tracks are off just to show the lights better)
-
i forgot to add pics of the wiring,.... wires wires everywhere variable slide resistor in the mag
