  1. i used loctite plastix bonder with excellent results on my ata snap parts and overall assembly. plumbers goop is a good alternative to e6000 for flexable parts, they are both silicon based epoxies made by the same manufacturer, goop is faster drying and less volatile to plastics ---------
  2. this is the closest i could find to camo ---------
  3. ya i made a tutorial and templates here i even had the experts over at mped check it for accuracy mine was a tad bit smaller but i needed it slightly different for my build
  4. i was going to originally but this is a lightweight trooper version. i am planning a fully functional one eventually
  5. i really tried hard to get this as screen accurate as possible with parts i could find
  6. if you want a flamethrower just send me a pm i can build one to suit your needs
  7. looking good i like the black drop boxes, i did mine grey but i think black looks much better
  8. nice work man love the mg-15.. what materials did you use for the ammo drum? it looks awsome
  9. i was thinking of using a toy microphone that broadcast to any FM radio.. like this lol ----------- then put a small radio in my armor to play the sound, its cheesy but cheap and easy
  10. after fist coat of paint. added real ar15 tactical scope mount and an airsoft scope
  11. thanks man.. i just need to attach the drop boxes and thermal detonator
  12. with a little script hacking i managed to extract some good data from the ultimate sith edition.. it gives a good clear detail of the weathering and paint schemes. i am currently trying to locate the flamethrower weapon files but there are literally thousands of images to sift through could take a bit but i would like to make a 3d model eventually
  13. got the last of the major parts painted and started on the snaps and velcro .. i recycled all the velcro from old blood pressure testers i got when i worked at a hospital ( i had a deal with the janitor ) it is super high quality stuff. i am hopefully going to finish masking and painting the red detail bits today
  14. thats odd.. i used a combo of goop and super glue on my build and i cant smell the glue at all. but i did use spray on auto wax to weather seal the glued parts. i can still smell the epoxy paint a bit but other then that the parts have no smell at all... possibly the wax? i also mixed loctite super glue with goop for a super fast drying flexible bond i also put white duct tape over the snaps. you could also put some potpourri in your tote also i have kept my armor outside in my garage for the entire build so it has had plenty of time to air out
  15. i found a load of this material, it is rubberized canvas.. would this be acceptable for a rotj belt? it looks really good with the white trim ---------
  16. i am finally at the final stage of my build i just need to finish some painting and make a strapping system... i didnt know if anyone has tried this way of closing the shin backs but i gave it a try and it works great, i trooped a birthday party the other day and they held strong (though i almost passed out from heat exhaustion) i just used 2 finishing strips and they pop fit together. i was just going to put some white tape on the inside for added strength but it holds fine without it once i get a neckseal and finish my flamethrower ill be good to submit for the 501st and the hopefully eib
  17. dish soap works well for that type of effect and its easy to clean up after
