  1. The problem with ebay is that whoever buys that kit will eventually end up here asking for help. And then were back where we started before the kit was put up on ebay. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  2. Remember that a good kit is more than just good plastic.
  3. You're probably right. It wouldn't surprise me if Disney reimbursed Anovos to have them sell the ANH kit at a loss. If so, at least there's the off chance that the kits will be of decent quality.
  4. A very good motto. In my opinion there are too many unknowns still, with anovos. There's also the little fact that even with bulk buyers like the armour makers we already have, just the material cost itself is almost as high as the price anovos is asking. For a company to turn a profit on such razor thin margins they have to cut corners somewhere. There's no way around it. I'm actually really worried about what this forum will be like if the anovos suit turns out to be bad. We'll all be chin high in complaints and support threads trying to help people fix their kits. It will be a nightmare. Just the fact that this thread is 28(!) pages long about a non-existing product is quite telling about the built up hype that can come crashing down on us.
  5. Syre they are glued? Not just press fitted? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  6. Rubies is pretty much only good for making a ROTJ. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  7. Never been required. Just encouraged.
  8. I take it you didn't notice the white duct tape holding some shins together on sandtroopers in mos eisley?
  9. Imperial elatics rather. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  10. Get a longer knife and insert it from bottom?
  11. Stick a knife between the bicep and the hook and cut through the glue.
  12. ATA and MTK do not sell ready-made, only kits. AP is Canadian and it appears at least OP is British and would probably prefer to buy domestic to skip cross-atlantic shipping and import fees.
  13. That picture is of the RS original detonator that Simon (owner) had painted on as child. It has since been cleaned up after the picture was taken.
  14. All boots will have a different shade from your armour. Don't worry about it. Also, don't shop from jedi-robe. Their quality is shucks. The elastics are also not something to worry about.
  15. Troopermaster does not have a website, but he is on facebook, and also here on the forum by the same username. If the cost of boots are the deciding factor I think this might be the wrong hobby for you, as you will encounter a lot of far more expensive items you'll want to buy later on. If you don't have the money right now, hold your horses and save up for a while longer. Also worth noting is that a commission from RS or TM are rarely paid in full up front so you'll have plenty of time to save up for your boots.
  16. It's a decent suit, but it needs modifications to be approved. It's also quite expensive for a ready-made of that level of quality (ie not so high). Neither is it "original" either. Slightly more expensive, but far higher quality options for ready made suits are to contact RS Props or TrooperMaster who build far more accurate suits.
  17. A big part of it comes down to assembly.

  20. This is because both tan and black straps are allowed (and used on original holsters).
  21. Yes that is just fine. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  22. No. But some glue guns make the glue hotter than others.
  23. Be careful, and if you can, put something cold like a bag of ice cubes on the outside to keep the plastic cool.
