  1. I like the holster-strap. It's not often you see that one replicated. Aside from a slightly mis-aligned knee-belt on the thigh I can't see any problems. Approved!
  2. That is why. Yes, following my theory all the way, the bracket screws should also be visible. Would I like that? Yes. My own armour has that, even if I don't use the bracket assembly. But I can only demand so much of others, and this is where the requirements are today.
  3. No, there isn't. Any 501st merch (that includes FISD) may only be sold to 501st members, per legion charter rules.
  4. The point of requiring split rivets no matter if they are functional or not is not an inside-armour requirement but an outside. They do look different from the brads that were allowed before the new rules. They do look different than cap rivets and they do look different than the pop rivets of the old days. Surely you must know that, and understand? Could any solid dome rivet of the right size be allowed since it would virtually identical? Yes. But split rivets are dirt cheap and if you want to make them practical then you can and at the same time be accurate, so there is no need to allow any other kind of rivet. A third ulterior motive of mine is to make more people make their rivets practical by using them for the elastics like on the original suits, even if they don't go full loop 'n bracket strapping. It's still an easy to use, cheap and reliable hybrid strapping with added accuracy.
  5. There is already. Too much of it in my opinion.
  6. Interesting choice on the #85 Paul. I might need to check it out.
  7. Looking good. Sent from my GT-I9300
  8. I would do a slight tension, but that's just me. Sent from my GT-I9300
  9. A screwdriver between the legs and pliers for pressure worked for me.
  10. How do you mean? The side ab rivets are split rivets that go through the armour. Same with the crotch. The side ab snap is in the top corner and also go through the armour. The corresponding snap sits on elastic that is glued to the inside of the kidney.
  11. French blue is used by most. The only one I know that uses Mediterranean blue is TM. And I would not recommend using the midnight blue, it is way too dark. No, there is no paint changes between the stunt and hero.
  12. They got it wrong. My previous post is aimed at anyone reading this in the future. I know very well that you are up to speed with the requirements - both high and low, Lou.
  13. Don't worry too much Moritz, a few fixes and new boots and holster and you're all set to go for EIB. The other things I talked about are nice-to-have but not a must for EIB. You did a good job on the trimming. Just needs some finishing touches.
  14. That might be a contradiction from my wording. Thanks for bringing that up. Shims will always be allowed as long as they are done in a nice looking manner. IE, they blend in with the rest of the armour.
  15. You might be able to trim some off the bottom of the holster. Check with your blaster if you have any excess at the bottom you can cut. I think you still can trim more off the the bicep and forearm. In case of the forearm, only trim at the back. The bicep you trim the outside half of, to make it slimmer. I'm a very slim guy myself, and while I have another armour, I know it can be done.
  16. My thoughts on the matter are these: The non-frown mask is just fine. You can keep it as that if you want. The gaffa bicep thing is also fine, although a little more discreet would be better. For those that don't know, this is the "ghetto hooks" as a certain German accuracy nut referred to it, a few years ago. I won't approve this until a holster and new boots have been added. I also strongly thing you should glue the shoulder bridges, and if they already are, redo it better. The snap tabs on the outside of the armour is also very peculiar and it's in your best interest to put them through the armour rather than glue them to the outside. It's not hard at all. Since you have the positioning already figured out, just put a pen through the hole of the current snap to mark where to make the hole for the new snap. You also want to shorten the elastic over you shoulders to get the chest and back to sit higher. Sure, it will make the neck opening smaller, but you can trim that wider if you need to. Then if you're thinking of applying for centurion later on I would recommend that you get a new blaster as there are just too many things that are looking wrong. That you move the inside rivet on the knee belt to the correct corner position like the belts outside rivet as well as paint all but the crotch rivets white. A helmet paint job to get the whites to match better would also be recommended. I know the stunt helmets don't perfectly match the armour, but this is just a bit much imho. I think that is what I had on my mind. I might come back with more recommendations if I have any.
  17. Who said I was going to approve this? I'll get back later with a more detailed reply on why I think needs adjustment.
  18. Good luck with your helmet!
  19. No need to be sorry. Just spend more time reading than asking. You might also learn a lot of other cool stuff in the process that you wouldn't know by just getting straight answers to your questions.
  20. Read gh05ty's signature. All in all, based on the number of really basic questions I've seen you post, and answered many of them myself, I really recommend that you spend some more time reading in the relevant sections of the forum. Many of your questions could have been answered by yourself if you had spent more time reading. I'm not saying that asking questions is bad. But when it comes to the basic stuff that has been answered countless times before, it gets a little repetitive for others to answer you know.
  21. Dark Admiral Grey, French Blue & Gloss Black.
  22. The jedirobe armour is approvable. It's been done on numerous occasions. Rubies has also been approved. But just like all the other armour it has to look good and be properly fitted to the wearer. It's just that the rubies and the jedirobe take a lot more effort to reach the goal with than other armour. Given the fact that both those armours cost twice as much as an original FX and require twice the effort to other armours it's easy to see why they should be frowned upon.
