Today I installed a set of runriott's lenses. Grade 3 torch lens material. I trimmed them down with a pair of scissors and dipped them in boiling water. Then I pressed them into the eyes until they cooled so they would perfectly match the eye sockets. Then I glued them in place. You can see out and they can't see in...perfect. Now I'm just waiting to get a pair of speakers from SuperTrooper to install the electronics.

Thats just str8 up sexy there. Can you troop in it? Lots of rich detail, wondering how thin your material was....man that looks good.

Whats crazy is that the more it dries, the better it looks. Its shiner 12 hours later than it is wet.

I highly recommend Rustoleum Gloss White High performance enamel. Dude you will not believe what a beautiful finish it has. Mike Harrison for President!

We should start stocking up on beer now, that way we'll be ready for the armor party. Might as well get one more good one in...

----------- This is the batch of templates for the ROTJ E-11. It has the templates for the greeblies that you are looking for. Hope that helps ya. I read somewhere that they might be hammers for some type of gun real gun but thats the extent of what I found.

AP armor build Jan. 10 2008[*AP]

The one I used was a Rawlings. The liner was all glued into the helmet and I just carefully separated the padding from the helmet. None of the places where it was originally glued will show when its inside your helmet. Mine looks terrific. It was 10 bucks at Wally World. -

Yep that's looking good! Whatcha gonna do for the interior padding? Hardhat liner or batting helmet padding? -
How to tell if you have a good officer: You cover his a very impolite person when he's in a jam in front of his superiors and make him look good. 3 months later he sweeps your drunken bar fight on foreign soil charges under the rug. How to tell if you have a bad officer: Do the aforementioned grunt miracle. 3 months later when you get charged for dragging a drunk guy thru St Marcs Cathedral Square in Venice Italy in broad daylight, he signs your incident papers and says I hope the Captain goes easy on you. I once "dirty _____" an officers coffee cup. He was a real piece of work and deserved it. Dont regret that one at all. I did 6 years of consecutive sea duty...I got the salt where it counts!

That pic looks about right for a stunt brow. Also try turning your head sideways to get it in the bucket. -
Well there went almost 20 bucks! I tried some speakers that are very cheap when bought in bulk but when you only get one pair for testing they cost more. Well anyway, they arrived today and I was all giggles and such. So then I wired them up to my board and was totally devastated. The sound output was total crap. No where near loud enuff to get the job done. So if anyone is planning on trying out some new speakers do not buy these: CDMG15008-03-ND available from Digi-Key Mylar, 15mm, 8ohm, 0.3 watts I had them wired up as a 4 ohm load (two 8 ohms in parallel) The original speaker that came with my board was a single 8 ohm but was 2 inches in diameter. I was hoping that the higher current would make up for the smaller size. I was wrong. Anyways back to the old drawing board. I'm prolly just gonna end up waiting for Supertrooper to do another run of speakers....I hate waiting.

TE2 hands down best bucket out there. But as mentioned TE2 is made out of styrene. A styrene helmet isnt so bad because unless youre as clumsy as the one TK on the deathstar you shouldn't be banging your head onto stuff, the rest of the armor can see quite a bit of abuse so I'd recommend ABS from the neck down. I'm going FX from the neck down unless anyone want to cut me a smokin' hot deal on some AP....

I used testors grey 1138 and Rustoleum Satin black spray paint for the black. I couldnt find satin black in testors brush so I sprayed into a a cup and brushed from that. Dont talk to me about ears. I hate ears. I bondo-ed my ears so I have no gaps. Check out TK-4510's helmet build thread. Its a TE2 but will be very similar to the AP. Mikes a pro at helmet building. Theres a link to his build in my signature. -

Looks like you did a great job on the face. Eyes look absolutely fabulous. Im a fan of frown holes a little more rounded but what you have going on there is great. For trooping armor I'd recommend decals for the traps, tears and tubestripes. Paint the vocoder, frown and ear ranks. For a collectable go hand paint for everything. For mesh behind the frown I put in a veil of 1/8" foam sheeting with some velcro in my bucket and it looks great inside and out. -
My wife buys my supplies for me...just the other day she says, "I'm going to Wal Mart, want me get you the batting helmet you need for your stormtrooper helmet?" Now thats <3!

Use large washers on the back of the hovis, inside the helmet. It will give it more structural support. -
Thats the necktrim that came with the kit. It would have been nice to be about an inch longer.
