  1. I knew something wasn't quite right. Guess I get to work on it some more tomorrow . Anyone know of a good way to remove paint? Enamel thinner and some paper towels?
  2. UPDATE Well I'm finally semi finished with the helmet. All that is left is to get new decals and I will be set. Here's the front view of the helmet. ------------ I decided to do an FX Hero. I think it came out ok. I need to touch up the frown paint, my hands shake too much to get a nice straight line. I used the screen that I am offering to anyone that needs some. So please tell me what you think.
  3. Does it allow air to come in freely? It looks like its blocking it with the big rubber piece being there.
  4. Well hmm. I swore I responded to this.......oh well. Like I said (in the post that didnt show up), a very well executed assembly job Smitty. That's what a helmet should look like. You guys make it look so easy. I was wondering how you are going to finish the frown if at all? You using screen mesh? Or are you going to do what Matt stated in the Frown thread?
  5. Kind of like this guy has on.
  6. i'm guessing you are talking about the Hovi stamp on the outside of the cast? i don't think it matters. i put mine facing down so they are harder to see when someone looking at you from left/right or dead on. hope this helps.
  7. It depends which one you are more hard up on having? You can always get an effects board and install it in the FX. Then later on upgrade to a TE2 and take the effects board out of the FX and install into the TE2. Or just get both and install an effects board into the TE2 and be done with it . I currently don't have a effects board and not sure if I will anytime soon.
  8. Looking good there. Keep the updates coming.
  9. I'm a little late to chime in on this thread but I just had to. Too bad Gino didn't have the same color plastic to make you more color accurate forearm and handplates with. Also, the buttons don't look black to me. They appear to be a dark gray with the bottom two on the left plate being a dark blue and the bottom right being dark blue as well or maybe it is my monitor. I also notice that there are two different sets of boots in the pics. One is white with black soles and the other is all white. I'm guessing that the all white are just for the display and are not accurate?
  10. Here's a few links to what others have done. -----
  11. I believe E6000 is mainly used for gluing the fabric/elastic/velcro to the plastic. I havent heard/read people using it for gluing the armor together, mostly Devcon Plastic Weld or ABS glue is the more widely used adhesives. At least this is what I got from reading the posts on this board, but I could be wrong.
  12. your link doesnt work doug.
  13. Man...talk about some rough cut armor. Those hand plates look..... well....... um......... yeah. Thanks for sharing this Tony.
  14. I believe everyone wanted to give you time and space to vent. It's the 24 hour rule.........have some pie.
  15. I have alot of mesh screen lying around. I'll take a pic of it later. Edit: Here's the mesh screen that I have. I will gladly send to whomever might need some for $3.00 (includeds paypal fees & shipping). It will be a strip of 6" H x 10" L. Just PM me for paypal info if interested. I can also sell custom sizes if needed.
  16. Man that sucks. Well at least you can paint the vocoder and do the pinstriping around the ear (if that's the method you are going to do). Have you done the mesh screen yet?
  17. That can be controlled by having it be a private Stormtrooper group and also it doesn't have to have an affiliation to the FISD. Just an idea.
  18. Multiple trash bags.....for now . I'm going to invest in a good Rubbermaid bin here in the near future. I'm glad this questiong was asked because I was wondering how some of you pack it in the bins you have since some of you use a strapping system? Do you take everything apart? Or do you keep them together? Also, do you use something like newspaper or little thin foam sheets to keep stuff from rubbing each other?
  19. Yeah, I don't think they will/should have the TK designation. Sandtroopers don't so I don't see why they would.
  20. Then it is for surely an FX bucket. Looks like Craig is wanting to sort you out.
  21. No problem here. I have yet to have a problem with this board. Do you have wireless or are you wired?
  22. Agree. The 501st and FISD could always use a little more publicity. Just one question on the type everyone thinks it should be. A public or private group?
  23. I like the Commander the best of the paint schemes. I understand why some would be against having a Stormtrooper with a paint scheme. But it makes perfect sense that they are the "transitional troopers", and in a way are kinda needed. JMO though.
  24. Nice work there Troy. I also like your hall. Now if only I could convince my wife to let me do such I would be very happy. I have that set of posters on order, which they will probly have to hang in the garage.
