  1. Well, this process has taken a backseat, so has my posting, with me trying to start my photography business. I might not make it this year unfortunately. I think I'm going to order a new set of armor next year so I can have a fresh start. Too much work trying to get the "gift armor" to elite status. I would have to replace too many parts and I could pay for a new suit for around the same cost.
  2. I think you missed a bit of paint on the last two teeth.
  3. Well hmmm. Then I will be hunting these down since I have the box sets. I might have to buy the Ewok Adventures too .
  4. Try and find the original versions of ANH, ESB and ROTJ if you can. I hate the redone ones. I think you can only find those on LaserDisc and VHS, I don't think they have it on DVD. Also, show them in the order that they came out like it was meant.
  5. i rented it from netflix and i was blown away. litterally . it was a fun game. and definate "going to buy" game. just haven't had the funds. i'm seriously waiting for "bad company". that game is going to rock. right now i'm addicted to navyfield. its a mmots (massive multilplayer online tactics simulation). i play on a chinese server, because the american version you have to pay to play and i'm not down with that.
  6. I can't seem to find that option. I've looked at a thread I started but cannot find where to change the title.
  7. i believe one of the admins might have to do it. contact Daetrin
  8. The size of the buttons seem to be off as well. They look like the size of FX buttons but painted.
  9. Except for TM's armor correct? If I read correctly his is made from scratch isn't it? Or am I completely off base?
  10. Thanks for the feedback. It is HDPE gray with a textured surface. I've been reading up on 2 component urethane which from what I've gathered is what you are suppose to use when painting HDPE. I just have to find where I can get some and see what kind of "white" they offer in it. If it's not a close match, I might take it to my local body shop guy and see what he can do with it. The only problem I'm really having right now is getting this paint off. I think Matt used an epoxy paint, so paint thinner doesn't seem to work on it. I saw some stuff at Home Depot that you can use to removed epoxy paint, but I held up on getting it. I'm gonna see if my brother think he can use his sandblaster possibly to take this off, unless he or anyone thinks it might be too harsh for the HDPE. So that's where I'm at right now. The reason I don't want to use some of the other paints mentioned is because I want to possibly troop this helmet.
  11. if you are concerned about cost, i got mine off the big auction site for very little money, but it was made really good. i believe it is a regular item. if you need, i'll send you a link. just pm me if interested. however, if you are not concerned about cost, go with steve's recommendation and get Wyatt's setup. it's top notch.
  12. Wow! I'm so sorry to hear that about T. I'm going to send him a package of goodies. I'll see what I can pick up at the All-Con this weekend in Dallas.
  13. Isn't there a bump inside the helmet as to where the fourth tooth should be? I'm gonna go to the garage and check. Edit: Nope, sure isn't. That is in my TE helmet. I think it should be a little closer to the third tooth, but not much. JMO. Good luck in your quest.
  14. Two things. First the holster looks awefully close to where the end of the belt is, most belts end a little bit further away, just my opinion. Second, do you not have a plastic piece inside where the belt is attached? It helps hold the weight and not let the belt pinch up. I do like the method you got there, it's perfect for thick holsters.
  15. I had a question about the ears. I noticed one, the left one when you look at it straight on, looked likes it is straight up and down, but the other, the right side when you are looking staight at it, looks like the ear is turned more towards the back of the helmet. Is this how they are suppose to be for a TE? I have a TE that I am working on it right now, I'm scraping all the paint off and going to redo this helmet completely. I have completely disassembled it and am wanting to know before I start putting it back together. Also, please PM me any tips on what to look out for when painting this HDPE helmet.
  16. I think that the Humbrol paint is a closer match to the decals. The Testors looks just a bit on the light side. If you are going for Elite status and doing ANH, just remember that only the ear caps, frown and vocoder are to be painted. Everthing else are to be decals. At least that what the standards were, I beleive, not sure what they are now.
  17. I like your new avatar pic Paul. I too am curious as to what you are doing to the helmet. I have a strong stomach so bring it on.
  18. Well dang it Tim. I was just about to post those links. Oh well, looks like I'll just my sorrows away .
  19. Guess it's time to pop in the ESB and sit down with some popcorn and pad/pen .
  20. Ok, I just wanted to ask another question since we are talking about this. I was just curious if there is the ammo clip on the left side of the gun, yet the holster is to be on the right side, you then have to wear the gun backwards in the holster? So is that why you see some of the blasters in ESB without the clip? And also why some don't wear holsters? Just wanting to know about this.
  21. Looking good. Just take is slow and your lid will turn out great. Let me know when you need some screen mesh to finish off your frown .
  22. Dont use rivets to do that. Use heavy duty snaps. Like these Snaps Follow this tutorial and you will have an awesome belt.
  23. Ah, oh yeah. I forgot to add that I have to do the "gap" additions as well. Looks like I will be busy this year. Just waiting for the weather to improve, it's too cold to be outside in the garage working.
