Alright I did it! It was a little scary because I feel like I have a few pounds left to drop to get into more accurate armor but I bought a set from AP! Just got my tracking number! I should have it by Wednesday! This will be my first armor build from the ground up. I already did an AP helmet and I modded the crap out of my FX but this will be all me from the beginning. Wish me luck!

Haven't been around the boards much lately but I'm thinking of ditching my FX set and upgrading to an AP. I already have an AP helmet completed. Can someone PM me some contact info. I know I had it but its long been lost. Any idea if they are currently producing armor? Thanks

Whataburger is awesome! Wish we had them here in PA. I heard of them and got really excited when I had the chance to go to one in Alabama last year!

I do scheduling for 300 consultants in a Verizon call center. I'm in a windowless room with 3 other people all day. Can pretty much wear what I want. Most days its T-shirt, cargo shorts, running shoes or sandals, ballcap. Can't really complain. Sweatpants are O.K. jeans, whatever. Alot of times I come to work ready to workout afterwards. I sit here with my refrigerator under my desk and my 15" TV close by. Yes I have full cable! If I didn't have to drive 80 miles per day it would be perfect! The best is Fridays during football season because I already know I'm sporting the authentic Steelers jersey!

Don't know if you guys have noticed or not but I have not been posting much in the past few months. I check this site and try to keep up with my reading everyday but this summer has been nuts! Me and the wife have separated and it looks like it will be a complete divorce soon. So at 33 years old I have moved back in with my parents. Actually could be a good thing as my mom is my seamstress for all things costume wise. But it has been crazy with all the summer activies and trying to fit everything in. I'm looking forward to getting the softball season wrapped up here in the next few weeks and then the big push to make elite status by Halloween for sure! Hopefully sooner!

I am keeping the 2000 Silverado because I flip houses and need the truck but I'm looking into something small for the 80 mile commute to the real job everyday. I have looked at the Nissan Versa, Suzuki SX4, and Mazda 3. I love the Mazda but its more money with some more creature comforts. Not sure about the Suzuki. The Nissan is a great car (I've owned 2 already) but its stripped. Can you say crank windows? Any advice would be welcomed.

1} Since 1978 When I saw it for the first time with my parents. I was 4 years old! 2} Definetly the toys! Must have been the largest part of my childhood was playing with all the figures and ships! 3) I always wanted to be a stormtrooper and finally obtained the means to make a boyhood dream come true! 4} The internet is huge! I would never had obtained my costume without the internet and would have never have met all these wonderful people who share my passion for Star Wars and its global appeal. -
Can't be stressed enough how important those helmets are! Glad to see you are in one piece! Get well soon!

You believe that? If scarcity is why fuel prices in the U.S. are as high as they are and climbing as fast as they are... then why has Exxon-Mobile -- the most profitable corporation in the history of corporations -- been turning record-busting profits of over $40 billion (that's billion with a "B") a year (that's profit after operating costs, just to be prefectly clear)? Why are we putting 75,000 barrels of oil a day into a National Strategic Oil Reserve that's ~97% full? Again the prices in the U.S. are where they are because we are not producing enough. Demand globally is increasing and the supply is not. Would you buy less fuel if it was still 75 cents a gallon? You would still be running your boat, ATV, hot rod, or whatever recreation vehicle just as much as you used to where now you see alot of boats and RVs and everything else sitting in garages and driveways. Yes they are making record profits but it is impacting usage. My local dealer has not sold a truck in months. If you increase supply the oil companies will not have to limit usage by price. Ethanol has alot less oil content. You would think that ethanol would cost alot less. But again production is low and if it were alot cheaper, everyone would be buying it and there would be a shortage. There is enough oil out there for the immediate future. The next 50 to 100 years. That gives us plenty of time to find an alternative. An alternative is out there. Basically I'm saying lets stop hugging trees and drill for some oil. There I said it.

I can't pick! I love to watch Tiger do his thing but Rocco is from my hometown of Greensburg, PA! I am really rooting for the hometown boy but he has quite the mountain to climb. As an added piece of info I was on the golf team in high school with Rocco's nephew. I just hope this playoff is tight and one of them doesn't fall apart.

Thats great Mike! Best of luck to you!

It's simple economics. Supply and demand. The oil is worth what the market is willing to pay. Many would say $800 for white plastic is crazy but all of us here pay it. There is just so much more demand today. The only thing they can do is increase the supply. The problem in the U.S. is that China and Cuba drill for oil closer to the U.S. coastline than we do. The enviromentalists have our government restricting production so much that we can't help ourselves. We haven't built a new refinery in this country in over 30 years. Almost all of our baseball and football stadiums are newer than our newest oil refineries! Bottom line is drill here, drill now, pay less. You can still put effort into "alternative" sources and "greener" solutions but for right now our economy is grinding to a halt for no reason. There is alot of oil right here in the good ol U.S. of A. that we are not utilizing and our refining methods are archaic at best.

I'm 80 miles round trip to work in a 2000 Chevy Silverado at $3.99 per gallon! I'm at around $450 per month just going to work and back. I'm concidering getting a small car but that would make 4 in the driveway! Can't give up the truck I use it all the time and we don't have the weather here to make a motorcycle practical transportation. It's a bad situation and we just gotta eat it!

Smitty's Request for Elite Status (pic intensive).[27][GF]

WOO! HOO! It's been a long time coming and you have contributed so much here! Big time congrats bro! Will be joining you shortly! -
I have everything I need in hand I just need to put it all together! When I say I have it in hand I mean I have canvas to make my own belt. I have the materials to make my own holster. I have everything I need for my blaster I just need the time to put it all together. Life has really slowed me down on this project. I planned to be done 2 months ago. I am hoping that I'm only a few weeks away. I want to make a huge effort to get this done soon!

I work for the phone company as well. Verizon landline. I work in a call center of over 500 people and I'm the guy who is responsible for making sure we have enough people on the phone so you aren't waiting 20 minutes to talk to a person. (Let the jokes and complaints commence!)

TK3205 requesting Elite status.[24][AP]

Congratulations to one of the first to reach out to me when I was new. Would never have a great looking AP helmet without you! Now if I ever get this darn gun finished I can join you! -
Text messaging. It's like we don't talk to each other anymore. My wife and her friend will watch a show on TV and text message each other the entire time its on about the show. And my wife's phone makes this bling noise everytime a text message comes in. All night long all I hear is BLING, BLING, BLING! Every thirty seconds BLING! And then she sends me text messages with open ended questions that take me 10 minutes to answer because I never had a class in high school for typing on a ten digit keypad! Now I need to go outside and get some air before I take this out on my coworkers! <_<

I've been busy all day and this is my first chance to respond. The above explaination is pretty much correct though. The compound has a very fine grit and you rub out the orange peel after it is fully cured. Give it at least 3 days, 5 would be better. I have even used 1200 or 1500 sand paper and wet sanded the surface before using the compound. It never hurts to use a really good wax or polish after rubbing out the imperfections. You do have to go slow and use very light pressure but you will get the knack for it. If I'm doing it, its not that hard. I used compound on the raw ABS of my AP to make it glossier.
-
Go to a good autoparts store with a body work department. They should sell some good compounds or glazes that should take care of orange peel. I think 3M makes the kind I used. I got it from a buddy that does bodywork for a living. Anytime you shoot with a can and even a gun you will get some degree of it. Just rub it out. I painted a Steelers helmet for my dad for Christmas which is the hardest color (black) and after I rubbed it out with compound it looked like glass. Still does! It also eases the anxiety while shooting the paint that it can be fixed later. Several light coats with only a minute or so between

Is the left handedness consistant with the clones? I never paid attention. -
