  1. I was raised not to hate anything. HATE is such a strong word. With that said, I am from Pittsburgh and I'm one of the biggest Steelers fans you will ever meet. The Patriots and Tom Brady have ruined so many seasons and had my teams number for so many years. Compounded by the family I have from Boston that wastes no time rubbing my face in Patriot and Red Sox victories. I HATE THE FREAKIN PATRIOTS! I could not be happier! What Dynasty? The Greatest Team nEVER! The perfect season spoiled! Congratulations to the Giants and their fans! I know from 2 years ago what great feeling this is! I'm going to change my ID to TK 18-1 P.S. Cheaters never win!
  2. I trimmed about a 1/4 inch or so all the way around my AP because I couldnt get it on at all! The rubber trim still fit too!
  3. Big congrats! Truely looks awesome! I need to lose some more weight! I want to look that good in armor!
  4. I'm with you. Waiting for speakers and going with the WALMART board. Great minds think alike! Should be good enough vs spending a few hundred bucks. Won't have all the bells and whistles but I won't have all those wires running down inside my armor like I do now.
  5. Thanks again everyone for the positive feedback. Again...couldn't have done it without you all!
  6. Thanks! Don't I know it! Same with me! You just have to push through that other stuff and do it!
  7. Unfortunately I won't be there! Those Philly events are tough to get to. It's farther than most expect from Pittsburgh to Philly! <_< We need some more events on the western side of the state! And that weekend is Winterfest at the ski resort by my house. My ski club is entering the anual ski dummy race. We actually discussed doing a StarWars themed sled and I could wear my armor! If we actually go that route I will post pics! But now that my setup is getting better I need to be getting to more events! Hope to see you soon!
  8. Thats a great pic from inside the helmet!
  9. I did polish it and i want to hit it again now that its done. It is alot more shiney than the pics show. I was actually excited to get the pics up so its still all finger printed and handled when the pics were taken late last night. I did 3 coats by hand before i panted it. I used an automotive polishing compound, then followed with Mothers prewax glaze and then Mothers pure Carnuba wax. I was hoping the wax would yellow the bright white a little to match my older FX armor. I need shine it up for a final time. I have even been looking for a small buffer to do all of my armor polishing.
  10. This would be great! Of course I have to check with the higher-up! I would definitely be interested in this! Let me check on how doable it is.
  11. I said I needed to get this lid done and I just busted it out tonight! Submitted for your approval and criticism! I have the outside finished I think except for the rank stripe on the ears. I want to give the grey another few hours to dry completely. And I still have all of the insides left yet. But here is the exterior. Thanks to Alain for all the help and info...Thanks to Nathan for the sweet lenses....Thanks to Stomper for the kick butt Hovi's...and Thanks to everyone on this board for all the info and encouragment to take on my first helmet build like this. I set out 5 months ago just wanting to own a set of stormtrooper armor. You all have opened my eyes to a much larger world....one that I am very humbled to be a part of. OK..Enough with the mushy stuff! Here are the pics! -----------
  12. Shipping is a killer if you live in the U.S. Not sure if he is a member here but there are some good guys right here on the forum that can get you a great deal on FX if thats the way you want to go.
  13. I got it in October and she still makes me do it almost everyday! She's good to me though! She's sending me to Steamboat Springs with 2 buddies this weekend to ski for my birthday! She truely is one of the best wives ever! I don't mind saying it.
  14. My wife will periodically walk up to the mannequin and yells to me, "who am I?" I am required to immediatley respond, "you are THE BEST WIFE EVER!" Seems like a small price to pay for TK armor!
  15. Thanks man! Couldn't have done it without you!
  16. I got really good results on my FX when I need to get some blobs of glue off from the last guy. I was going to sand the whole thing with 1200 grit and then buff it out with compound. I did a little on the top of the dome and it looks much better already. Plus the compound seemed to tone down the stark whiteness of the plastic more in tune with my current armor. I never saw his ABS in a can. I will have to check that out as an option. Im still looking for suggestions so keep them coming.
  17. Thanks guys! It is my first helmet build of any kind. Even my FX came assembled. I was a little unsure about the frown. I wanted to get some opinions before buffing it out and doing the details. I guess this stands a testament as to how truely awesome the help and tutorials on this board are. I followed the an AP and a TE guide as well as refered to Alain's images of his incredible helmet. How he got his ears so tight without filler I will never figure out. I had hours into mine and must have taken it apart and put it back together 2 dozen times. As I always tell the new people when they say hello for the first time....this is the place to be for stormtroopers and you guys are just the best! - Now lets get this thing finished! Thanks again,
  18. Here is the first pics of my helmet! Let the criticism begin! Let me know what you all think....and let me have it!
  19. I noticed that off is way worse than on! With the rubber in place made it that much more difficult. Thanks guys!
  20. Well I just spent about 8 hours fitting the ears on my new AP helmet. I now know the term "fear the ear!" It was alot of work to get them to fit with minimum gap but I think they fit pretty tight now and the helmet looks just awesome! So once it was fully together for the first time, I of course wanted to try it on. OOOPS! Can't get it over my ears! I have it turned completely side ways and its way too tight! Anybody with a big head have any luck cutting out some of the bottom to get this thing on?
  21. Ive been on and off all day and have been good.
  22. And I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight, "Traveling through hyperspace isn't like dusting crops, boy! Without precise calculations we could fly right through a star or bounce too close to a supernova and that'd end your trip real quick, wouldn't it?" Merry Christmas to all! And to all a good night!
  23. Honestly! I thought about it!
  24. Unfortunately I did not take pictures during the construction. I thought about it but I have so much preparation for our party this weekend that I didnt have time. I just wanted to get it together while I had my help there. Besides Scott's tutorial is very good. I just added padding and the undersuit. I did take the bottom apart last night and glue the hip and pelvis joints so he doesn't squat anymore (no more "crop dusting") He stands much more erect and looks really good. If you all want I can take him back apart after the holidays and do a full tutorial. On another note my wife is attempting to name him! I said to call him Lucas in honor of George but she said that was too modern for a first name. She wanted something more classic like Chuck, Larry, or Ed. What do you think a good name for my mannequin should be? Talk amongst yourselves!
  25. Thanks guys! Your kudos mean alot!
