  1. really torn on this, any shot to old uncle george is a nut buster good time, but this is interesting. It makes you wonder about the nature of art. Since it was made for a movie its not art? But isn't the movie itself art? AA was paid for his services, and that was the end of it, he was paid to create in plastic something someone else wanted him to create, I simply do not understand how he thinks he can come back 30 years later and start making money off of it when all he ever did was get paid to make it. If I work on the assembly line at Ford do I get to make my own Ford trucks later and owe nothing to the parent company? Heck no. That's my angry face. i actually have the exact same argument against comic book artists getting their art work back. you drew pictures of Batman, and were paid for it why do you think then that you can sell those same pages you already got paid for again? I just wonder why exactly AA thinks he CAN sell Stormtrooper Helmets and armor. Why does he believe that his yanking them off of a vac form table instantly means he owns them forever? Look if he had sculpted the things first I might go along a bit more of a ways with him, but he didn't.
  2. the transaction is not illegal per se, Matt re-casting from copyright works and making money off of them is, but the purchaser isn't liable...wait a minute my brain just froze. I guess what I want to say is this, if I make a Death star commander helmet (as an example) and choose to sell it to you, and then take your money and run, I am still the more legally at fault member. I think, I guess, oh heck I'm spit balling at this point, truth be told if Matt has the money and never delivered its still theft, no matter the product so long as the product isn't contraband, (pot and so forth) the legal copyright issues are not really in the mix for the local DA that will prosecute Matt for theft. Almost made some sort of sense huh?
  3. soon as de "holidays" are over I'm PP that out sorry for the delay, but I need to get a paycheck in there somewhere. Thanks so much Brian this is a real treat, and I can't wait to get my grubby little finger on it!
  4. What's slightly funny C is that when we started this exact same thread a few months ago you were much more forgiving for Matt. No offense meant in any way shape or form my man, just an observation. I have heard this stuff behind the scenes and in front of the curtain for to long. When do we stop supporting a person as a slow producer, and start to call him a thief? Matt I know you don't care what anyone thinks of you, but you are on these boards, and reading this, just how sick do you have to be to not pack up a box and send it to Caleb for a F'ing year? In that time you have packed and sold countless suits and helmets, but not his during your bouts of not sickness couldn't you have packed that up or the guys who started this thread and not several other people? If you need help packing stuff up ask for it. Hell I'll come help you pack it up of it gets these threads completely out of the public eye. I really really liked you man, you have a great family, and a really great product, but these problems are destroying what should be a sterling reputation. all you need to do is give people what they have paid for, that's not asking to much.
  5. Oh how I hate to use this phrase but "dude!" THose are wonderful shots. I love that you went with a white background, it makes the shots look more ANH for some strange reason. I love the helmet very well done the frown is really the kicker on that lid, if you don't mind my asking what's the pedigree of that armor?
  6. Welcome to the screwed by Matt club! As far as I know you are not the only FISD member waiting YEARS for your product. Please see my thread from ealier in the year about Oct, something about this very subject. Matt is supposedly starting a new prop run so everyone beware. By the way Matt seems really more likely to screw you over if you live outside the States, just a pattern I've noticed.
  7. I remember when it was called Dances with Wolves, I really liked it then.
  8. Ok so here I go getting in trouble. I'm not really holding my breath for this as MR has had the license for a few years already and still has not produced anything. Everything is "coming soon" or shipping late this year or early next year, and that has been for a few years, Feb of 2008 in fact is when it was announced. Now I know all about lead time to get a product done but hese guys showed the EXACT same group of stuff at two consecutive comi-cons. We are going on two years and still nothing. Reminds me of someone...I digress. MR has produced some super stuff, and I own rather a large amount of their swords and armor, but when it comes to licensed stuff they take a long time, a long time, I mean a really long time. There has been no pics, no nothing for the armor, in two years, so I imagine early in the year we will finally see the first little bits, the helmets will be off, and the armor will be recast off of the rubies suit in ABS, and the price tag will be nearer 2500, and they will be limited to under 500 suits. Just a guess, I wonder how close I'll be. Anybody else want to throw out their guesses? The also said they were gonna do the Fett brothers, nothing on that either. If it took two years to get the fabric stuff done, (and lets be clear here the cloaks cost 250.00) these will be VERY expensive. Best to just get a TE2. Or something.
  9. Panda for sure.
  10. Should be fine so long as you trim it to fit. Just remember that if your weight fluxuates you want to find a middel ground with your armor fit. My main problem is that I have these things called biceps, and triceps, they really make getting the bicep pieces fit a pain in the thermal detonator.
  11. I am really interested in how this comes out. I have been tempted to go this route with my 2nd ROTJ helmet, but was afraid of the sandblasting angle. I have a place here in Oregon that has agreed to do it and are really excited about it, but Panda has sort of scared the heck out of me, I never even thought about the additives, and stuff, I'm afraid I would get back a small pile of goo instead of a Helmet.
  12. Sounds crazy but use plain old Elmers glue. Just drip it in and let it dry in a few coats you get awsome results!
  13. dearmeat, Are you asking about the Master Replicas CE which is a cheaper light helmet or are you asking about the regular Master Replicas, and EFX fiberglass helmet?
  14. I'm a BIG fan of the flacking paint look on the helmet. There is just something more perfect about a TK helmet that isn't perfect. I really love this helmet you did a fantastic job! Makes me want an ATA.
  15. Caleb that suit looks great! Well done my man! I am getting my suit strapped onto my mannequin as we speak, Had to decimate the arms of the thing to get those little tiny peices over them so I have to do some Moding with PVC pipes. I will post when its done. You REALLY need to go EIB with this, I think it looks wonderfull. GREAT JOB!!!
  16. I have got to say that is some of the BEST armor i have ever seen. Wonderful truly wonderful. i am in awe. Congrats on your EIB status. I hope to join you someday! You really deserve this great job.
  17. Hey man on the way to join you soon. that video was great! And the guy was saying that the suits were the ones they used for the reshoot not for ep, IV. I really like the fact that they have the wonky troops in that scene, it just makes the "real" TK look so much cooler some how. Great video thanks for the link, although you'd think that there would be better streaming from the official site, nothing linked up on the vid.
  18. That show is still on? no really sorry for that...so they used rubies armor? That's sad how can the show have any geek cred left?
  19. You know what's really cool? You made a neat story to go with the pics, now that I respect! And how did you not fall all over the place in those shoes?
  20. "Chief Femtrooper" and (supporter) Wow! How about a group of shots of you spying on some rebels at a hot tub, or maybe stopping some dasterdly rebels from stealing your hot car while you wash it? Just thought I'd throw some more photo shoot ideas out there.
  21. I would LOVE a signed copy as well. I hope you are not getting overloaded with requests already, but please add me to the list! Super excited!
  22. My heart felt love, and respect. I hope and pray your family and friends will get through this tought time and remember the good times you shared with this brave hero.
  23. (On second thought just let this dog die)
  24. WOW, keep up this thread please, you are teaching me something with each picture. Just great, I love how you aligned the thighs good job I would have cried and ended up in the fetal position if I had seen that seam.
