  1. Very cool on this tee, it would be cool to also have some that say "My "fill in" is an Expert Infantry TK" or "My "fill in" is an Centurion TK" Have the"My "fill in" is an Expert Infantry TK"shirts be blue, and the "My "fill in" is an Centurion TK" shirts in Maroon (same colors as the ribbon/badges) Now for the 1st Imperial Stormtrooper Detachment Tee, I liking the color and design, but you try adding one more TK to it to see what it looks like. I know you said to keep down cost you are trying to not add too many colors to the graphic. What would do to the price to add/make the font the same yellow as the yellow in the FISD logo? Please, can wee see the font in yellow with a black online?
  2. Awesome Pix Keith, sorry to hear about the rain. Same thing happen to my group on Saturday when we did a Walk for Life event...rainy.... we were a little wet as well.

  7. First, I want to thank all of you that have donated to this, so far!!!! This truly shows how much the TK community (FISD) cares, and that is what I love about the FISD...Is it's members. Not yet. I contacted Paul and he said he will not be making any of the Kids Kit in the near future So I am still in the quest for the kids size TK kit for Katie. If anyone out there knows of any good Kids/smaller size TK kits, please contact me ASAP... Thank you!! Tom
  8. A young Star Wars fan bullied for being a girl and loving Star Wars. Hi all, I was contacted by Legion PR staff member,Dean Plantamura about the little girl who was bullied at school for being a big Star Wars fan. She was bullied because she was a girl who liked Star Wars and over her Star Wars water bottle. Here is what Dean Said about Katie: Katie Goldman, the young fan from Chicago that was bullied about being a girl who liked Star Wars. The 501st gave her so much support as a young girl fan, that Katie has decided to suit up as a Stormtrooper this year and her mom (author/blogger Carrie Goldman) has reached out to us for help! Of course, we want her to have only the best armor, Link to Katie's story:http://www.chicagono...in-first-grade/ I remember seeing this on the news and it broke my heart to know how cruel some people can be in finding ways to bully and hurt someone, just because they don't fit a certain mold that some people thing they should. Out of all the other Star Wars characters, It made me feel very proud to know that Katie wants to be a Stormtrooper. I want to make sure that Katie gets the best armor that she can. I told Dean that a good set of armor, even a kids kit, is not cheap. So, I am asking for the FISD community to help with the cost of a kit for Katie. For anyone that steps up and makes a donation to help get Katie's TK kit, I will make sure they get a Supporter badge http://www.whitearmor.net/eib/supporter2012.png.and you will be listed as one of the ones that made a contribution to help this young Stars Wars fan, that was bullied for it, fulfill her dream of becoming a Stormtrooper. If you are wanting to help support Katie with her dream, please PayPal your donation ($5, $10, $20, or larger if you wish), please do so to the following PayPal address: masterjediknight@msn.com When making your donation, please note in the PayPal "subject" option the following: Katie Goldman TK kit support In the PayPal "message" option, please add your FISD member name. Example: RogueTrooper. Please, so that we can keep an accounting of who has donated, post here, that you did so. I have been contacted by some dedicated FISD members from the Midwest Garrison, who are ready to help put Katie's armor together to make sure that it is properly built and fits her. The staff and I truly do thank all of you for any help in making Katie's dream come true and show our support for her love of Star Wars. The staff and I thank you for your support. With unquestioned loyalty, Tom Gardner TK5940 RogueTrooper FISD Executive Officer Pix of Katie http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/dam/assets/111215064835-star-wars-katie1-story-top.jpg http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_MPjuKmsJrwE/TQVRftvLneI/AAAAAAAAA2E/KLyeGMtlsvs/s1600/katie-star-wars__oPt.jpg

  10. Hi all, I just want to take the time to thank these members for donating to the server/upgrades fund. This just shows how giving and caring the members are here on the forum. It only took a little over 2 days to raise enough money to pay back the cost. Plus, we are going to be able to do a few more upgrades that we thought. I have added the "supporter" ribbon for each of you. You will see it just below your avatar and member info. The names are not in any order other than how the donations were received via PayPal. A BIG salute to them. Thank you very much for showing unquestioned loyalty. 11. We will keep you all posted on the new design EIB and Centurion Certificates........
  12. Giving a light sanding to the heads of the rivets will help the paint to hold on better, But like it was said above you will see some wear, which it does give them some character and some authenticity Eg realism G Lucas said he wanted the the Galaxy to have that live in look. But, if it your preference is to keep them un-battle worn... then from time to time you may have to do some touch ups....
  13. Pet screen mesh is one that is very popular to use: http://www.qualitywindowscreen.com/store/pet-screen-36x84-black-ready-roll-p-368.html?zenid=476cccda409a2e2958677b73e3c77826 Also, the Pet screen mesh can by purchased an more home Improvement stores (Home Depot, Lowes). Also some use a breathable sheer style fabric that you can get at a fabric shops. (Almost like the sheer curtains) and use a couple of layers.
  14. Jimmy hit the nail on the head, Be LOUD!!! -----------
  15. Sound cool with me Paul, lets take care of the members and their needs. As Elvis would say:
  16. You may also look over on the patch traders area of the Legion side too. Maybe post (WTB) http://www.501st.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=32
  17. Stay frosty my friends, we will have some new styles certificate very soon.....
  18. Most TKs have: 22sec into the video: --------------
  19. One other things is that the mic that comes with the Aker. the flexible part of the headset (gooseneck) does not hold as tightly to your mouth as the Radio shack does. I used to work in several big name retail music stores (Mars music, Sam Ash and Guitar Center) Honestly, if we were doing pro recording (then you may be looking at major details, but IMHO with what we are doing not the big of a deal) BTW "have you seen those new VT-16s?" A dynamic mic capsule is a coil of wire suspended close to a magnet. The coil has a diaphragm which gets hit by moving air. This causes the coil to move on its suspension. Because it is in the field of the surrounding magnet, this induces a current into the coil, which becomes the electrical signal sent down your XLR lead to your preamp. A condenser works quite differently, and is a little more complicated, so here's my simplified version. A capacitor is an electrical component which can temporarily 'store' charge. There are two elements - a rigid back-plate and a flexible membrane (the diaphragm). They are separated by a resistor, in this case air, and a voltage is applied across them, which in this case is a +48V Phantom Power supply. The 'capacitance' (how much it can store) changes when the diaphragm moves and so the amount of air between it and the back-plate changes. The diaphragm is moved, of course, by the incoming sound waves caused by your vocalist or instrument. The changes in capacitance essentially become the electrical signal sent to your preamp.
  20. The full DD kit with rail can be used to go ANH Centurion If you do not add/use the counter and power cylinders (that the kit comes with) you can go to ESB Centurion ( If you want to be uber correct, you would change the scope to a M19/32 style) TKC- ESB style EI level only.
  21. I also switched out the mic headset with one from Radio shack (better fit to your head, better response, better clarity) and use a small balloon to cover the foam cover/mic tip to keep any moisture/sweat from shorting it out.... I got the mic headset on sale for $20, but they normally runs $26... -----------
  22. From the PDF, the progress to your MiniMag is in great form (looking good) Keep us updated!!!!!!
  23. Hi Kristin, Jeese is correct, the ear screws need/should be countersinking flat head screw/bolt (like the pix below) You can find them at Home Depot/Lowes, the come in brass and steel (either one is fine) I would say a size #6 would be best (then the length you need)... ----------
