  1. Hi everyone! Its been a few days since my last update, so I figured Id let you all know where everything currently stands. I received a package from Trooper Bay yesterday, which included all of the elastic and nylon Ill be using in my build, the holster, all necessary paints, and 2 extra pairs of ears so I can try to make some improvements on my helmet. I've been in touch with Walt from WTF, and am purchasing extended forearm armor. In addition, he is finishing up his extended shin armor molds this week, so I will be placing that order once he finishes those pieces up. I believe these will really help with minimizing the gaps on my limbs I have been painting the frown and vocoder on the helmet, and would love some input on that! Lastly, I have just finished one of my biceps, and am currently cutting out cover strips for the other. My magnets came in, and have been really helpful Photos will follow later on today!

  2. I discovered after the shoot that my shirt was flipped over on the bottom and that's the tag peeking out. It's since been removed. I'll make the side tab adjustment you mention. Great, thank you!

  3. The problem is, he removed 2" from total shin circumference making them really narrow at the ankle.

  4. That knee glue/repair/fix looks great! Mine also cracked when I clamped and manhandled it into position and I also had to hit it with ABS paste. It should be fine forever once repaired.

  7. Hey Jacob, Glen linked to my build of the SDS. I basically ordered the suit as it was the first thing in my google search and was very naive. It is expensive, but without having personally compared it to other manufacturers (except quick side by sides at various troops) I would say it is worth the money to me. It is accurate in shape (as far as I can tell) and seems to be the proper off-white cream colour. There is a noticeable difference when I stand beside someone in a stark white TK armour. SDS does come pre-assembled but is not approvable out of the box. You have to almost take apart all the pieces (not that hard), possibly trim a few, then reglue. Depending on your skill level it is very easy to do and there really isn't that much that is required. I believe the only downside is the added cost and having to order some things like belt fabric pieces, rivets, screws, other hardware, etc. Other makers may include this stuff already? In my opinion it is better than having to trim individual pieces out of plastic sheets. However, some other manufacturers sell all the pieces and all you have to do is glue them together. So basically, the choice is up to you. If I had to do this again, I probably would have gone for another manufacturer and start from scratch simply due to cost alone. Let me know if you need anything. Dave

  8. Yeah, those hands are definitely not flexible. I def will cut & bend them when I get a chance. I'm going to fix up the knees. Thanks for the feedback!

  9. Interesting, for some reason I never knew that. :/ I can easily fix that I think. The split rivets were a bear to get installed anyway. I'll fix that up. Thank you!

  13. I think what you have now with the ridges aligned is fine and dandy, Chris! Even thought the top of the sniper plate is not perfectly horizontal to the calf, to me that's good to go. I'd rather see a gap at the bottom of the sniper plate than see ridges that are way out of whack. My main concern are those magnets that are holding the sniper knee plate in place. Please remove them before you submit your photos, or your knees will resemble Pippi Longstockings. Great job on this, by the way!
