  1. New Member Costume Approval Info - Elections 2022 With the Legion election period about to start January 31st, the membership database will be in lock down, during this time new member applications through your local garrison/outpost can not be finalized, you may however still submit them but they won't be processed until the end of this cycle. This does not affect the addition of any new costumes to an active members roster/profile, however it does affect any membership status changes ie: active / reserve / retired and any personal information updates. The period of membership database lockdown for 2022 starts January 31st and ends Feb 21st.

  2. After an 8 year retirement I finally finished an old MTK kit I had. I submitted photos the other night and was approved. This kit is a stand in kit most likely though. I found it difficult to assemble because there really are not obvious trim lines and some of the pieces like the legs I trimmed years ago. In that time I have improved my making skills. I had a challenge ahead of me by having to work with bad cuts I did 8 years ago. The arms were easier because I had never trimmed them. The left leg I had trimmed way too much off. Massive credit to Trooperbay for working me up a set of replacement lower legs. I only used the left one and there is only a slight color difference. The helmet I am very happy with. I like my armor not looking super pristine and I can say "mission accomplished" lol. The funny part of my submission is I am wearing the same lower undersuit I did when trooping back in 2013. I have replacements on their way. I am really excited to be back in the 501st. I should have never left and I cannot wait to get out their trooping again. I also already built two versions of Kylo Ren and have a Snowy on order. After that is done I will reevaluate doing another TK and am currently exploring doing a FO.

  3. Greetings Troopers I'm Chuck with the Golden Gate Garrison of California and am back with another build, this time for a Walt's Trooper Factory Empire Strikes Back Stormtrooper (WTF ESB TK). It's been slow progress over the holidays but am hoping to put some time in and motivate myself with a work in progress thread. I really appreciate the support, tips, and insight for these costume builds, so thank you in advance for following along and chiming in where you think it would be most helpful. I believe I have everything in hand minus the belting material and E-11 blaster (optional). I'm on the lookout for a quality trooping E-11 as I progress through this build. Big Brown Box Day! A lot of the armor was rough trimmed but others were trimmed down to the return edges in some cases. I found some time to lay out the TK and trim back a lot of the rougher areas using a score-and-snap method, but also dug out the dremel and shears for a few parts. I happened upon a new dremel and belt sander for this project and found a few hours to trim back the rough cuts even better. The curved end of the belt sander was perfect for a lot of the curves in the kit. I revisited the edges with 220 grit sand paper and smoothed everything out as well as detailed a lot of the corners where I couldn't get sanding tools in. Now that I've made it to the point where I can fit things, now I'm really looking at the return edges and have decided I need to revisit a number of parts to trim it back even further, to none at all. I've popped into this thread for tips and tricks. I'll be getting more time on the edges this weekend and that should square me up for proper sizing! More to come.

  4. OK, this is my final try. I'm much happier with the results. The photos give a little too much detail and they look better IRL. https://imgur.com/3E9Qnnt

  6. Stellar work as always. Looks like you’ll have another Centurion level armor for your TK Armory for sure!

  7. Ab buttons have been removed, cut down and stuck back down with e6000 so that they have 90 degree edges and have correct placement:

  8. Folding Stock The folding stock for the ROTJ version was (for the most part) the same as the L2A3. However, 2 differences I noticed were that there is a rivet in the section that folds out (left side only). I have no idea why it's there, but it will lock the stock in place when present, so that may be why they did it. There is also a hole toward the rear. I have drilled these out (below) and will add the rivet in the front, and since the rear hole seems to have a backing of some sort I will probably just glue a tiny ABS scrap behind it before re-painting. Reference images One more tiny detail is that unlike the L2A3 type, an E-clip is present behind the bolt on the stock hinge (both sides). Looks like a trip to the hardware store! 9. That sight is broken on my QD E-11, so I'm definitely going to look into this as well. Thanks @justjoseph63 & @T-Jay!!

  10. Okay, there's no way I'm living with the tiny sight. Thank you Tino and Joseph!!! I think I can certainly make something that's an improvement on what is there now.
