While there are a number of ways to attach the lenses inside your bucket, I found the easiest and fastest is to use a product called SUGRU. It is a kneadable glue, sort of like play-doh (plasticine) that is super easy to work with, and will hold forever. It does keep somewhat of a pliable consistency after drying, can be removed if you ever need to and does not emit heat during the curing process like CA or Epoxy glue. It is available online (like here on Amazon) and in many craft shops, usually in packets of 3. It comes in a variety of colors, but I suggest using the black. HINT: This can be done if you have already built your helmet, but it is easier if the face plate has not been attached. This whole process will take you less than 10 minutes to attach both lenses. Here is a photo of one of the individual packets, and the contents rolled into a ball. In this instance I am using 1 packet per lens. You will need a craft (popsicle) stick, sharpened at one end: Here is the trimmed eye opening from the inside: The next step is to roll the SUGRU into a small "snake" shape about 7 inches in length. (No longer). After that, you simply press it into the outside edges of the eye opening. Note that I left an open spot at the top. I recommend this for ventilation purposes. (Helps keep your lenses from fogging up). Place the lens evenly over the opening. Using a craft (popsicle) stick, push the glue firmly into place around the outside, making contact with both lens and helmet surface. Don't worry if it seeps through to the front. Hint: This glue is strong stuff. You don't need a crazy amount of contact surface. It will not come off unless you take it off. Turn the faceplate over, and any glue that has seeped through (see red circle) can be easily removed with the sharpened end of the craft stick. Allow 24 hours for it to dry, and you are DONE!1 point

This is an All-In-One compilation of various resources for ANH Stunt Stormtrooper builds which will hopefully be helpful to prospective troopers as you get started and begin your research. Many TKs over many years have spent countless hours documenting their tips, tutorials, and builds, and this index includes posts and links which have been helpful on my own journey to the 501st. Printable PDF documents are included with select posts. This index will be updated as additional resources are created and identified by troopers helping troopers. 501st Legion Links: 501st Legion - Member Application 501st Legion - Available IDs 501st Legion - Garrison/Outpost World Map TK ANH Stunt CRL FISD Forums Getting Started - Read This First ANH (Stunt & Hero) Forum Tutotials, Tips, and How-Tos Vader's Valkyries (women of armour) Getting Started Forum Pinned Threads (selection) Various Types of Armor (Vetted Vendor List) by Daetrin Vendors to Avoid by RogueTrooper [NEW ADDITION] Common FISD Acronyms & Glossary by justjoseph63 Steps to Join the Legion by Dark CMF Cost of a Stormtrooper by Dday Imperial Attaché List by Pretzel Supply Lists OT TK Supply List by justjoseph63 (Print PDF) List of Soft Parts by justjoseph63 Build Tips and Resources Quick Reference Guide OT TKs by justjoseph63 (Print PDF) Armor Party 101 by justjoseph63 Return Edges 101 by justjoseph63 (Print PDF) Paint Color Guide by themaninthesuitcase Billgrams One Stop Shop (some diagrams may be outdated) Things/tips you wished you had on your build by DTKC and others How to paint ab button plates by JBar Magnets 101 by justjoseph63 (Print PDF) Butt-joining Armor by ZacMuleer Sanding Before Gluing by Shinyarmour1 Make Heat Gun Return Edges by pandatrooper Make Return Edge Sealing Iron by Daetrin Making ABS Paste by kman (Print PDF) Resize Armor with ABS Scaps & Paste by Harbinger (Print PDF) Armor for Bigger Troopers by ELP Altering Armor for Shorter Troopers: See Cricket's builds (WTF, RS Props) ATA Armor Sizing by Thrawndike bar Armor Fitment for Skinny OTTKs by Morgi V-Tabs for Kidney & Butt by gmrhodes13, Cricket's implementation, Colin's implementation Kidney Plate Shimming by Bullseye Fix Back Plate Kidney Overlap by A.J. Little about myself, i consider myself to be fairly creative in the way that i do make attempts at creating my own works of art as well as trying to recreate others hard work efforts. I have under my belt now, two EVA FOAM costumes that i have made. the first of two is a Cyberman costume from doctor who and the other is the most current a Storm Trooper. I am currently on the waiting list for a TK suit from ATA WORKS and im excited to have a chance to build a Great suit and have hopes of finding a home with the 501st and start trooping within the community at local charity events. I would really like to find someone who i can get close with and become friends with in my area who could also help guide me along with my builing process once i do get my kit. If anyone reading this would like to extend a helping hand or good gesture this way, then i would certainly welcome it and be excited to hear from you. i am sharing a photo here of my latest foam build with me wearing a black series RO TK helmet.1 point

I'm starting as a place holder. I will be finally receiving my FOTK armor from KBprops soon (no fault to them, just back log) and hopefully I'll document everything here. I already have my gaskets (Pinkys) and boots. Gloves and neck seal on the way. Looking at other build this is way more complex than OT TK. Any advice is welcome.1 point

Welcome, Bobby, and GREAT to hear that you pulled the trigger on ordering your RS armor! While you "hurry up and wait" for BBB to arrive, I would suggest a few things: 1. Get all your build supplies lined up and on hand. Nothing worse that having to stop in the middle to order or buy something. Link here. 2. Once your kit arrives, start a build thread. Trust me on this one. Does it take extra time? Yep, but there you can ask all the questions you like (no matter how small), and add photos. Lots of them. Adding pics is especially important when you have an issue. 3. Hopefully you will be aiming for Expert Infantry and then Centurion levels after Basic 501st approval, and this is MUCH easier to do during your build rather than after, and not as difficult as you may think! I have a thread here which will answer a lot of questions as well as show you what we look for when approving those. 4. Most importantly.. take....... your....... time. I 'm sure you want to get it done so you can get out and troop, but rushing leads to mistakes. Consider it a marathon, not a sprint, and you will have one awesome looking set of armor when you are done. We are here to help every step of the way, all you you have to do is ask.1 point

Wow that's great. Thank you so much for taking the time to look into my application chemi and everyone who gave me advice along the way. Hopefully I'll get time sooner rather than later to get the fixes done. Thanks again..1 point

Last year I added Dan's initial holster placement inquiry thread to my resource page, and though I've been meaning to add this thread for several months, I've finally now gotten to it. Hopefully this EXCELLENT thread can continue to point builders in the right direction with their kits!1 point

Hot water pour is pretty safe. Just be sure to apply pressure on the joints and pour water on the neighboring areas as well. To clarify, unless you're doing a sharp bend, all areas affect the curvature of the plastic, so you also have to heat the support areas to achieve max bend without fold. I usually allow it to cool while under pressure until it's mildly warm or hardens, whichever first.1 point

hopefully these show the area's in question and the hovi 's look ok. Thanks for the guidance, as always it's much appreciated.1 point

Advanced Tactics Awards Public Relations Staff List 2020 Follow FISD It is with great sadness that we share that Jeff Ritzman, TK-423, passed away on February 24th, 2021. Jeff was one of the founding members of Old Line Garrison, and served as the CO of the Maryland Squad when the territory was part of Empire City Garrison in 2001. While the territory was part of Garrison Carida from 2002-2003, Jeff was instrumental in the transition of Maryland Squad into Old Line Garrison as it is today. Jeff was a talented designer and created many of Maryland Squad and Old Line’s first logos that are still used. Additionally, Jeff had one of the most accurate Episode IV Vader costumes and was an avid prop collector of screen used items. Our condolences go out to his family, friends. "Buckets Off" On 23 July 2021, our dear friend and trooper Marc Lim (ID 70666) passed away. Marc fought bravely, and never gave up. He will be deeply missed by all of us in the Singapore Garrison, and also by those whose lives he touched. Your zest for life and ready smile will not be forgotten. Our condolences go out to his family, friends. "Buckets Off" Greetings fellow members What a huge month July was, with our anniversary kicking off and the special edition coin run. Almost 1500 coins order from our membership making it one of FISD's largest coin runs based off the legion coin data base numbers. Hopefully in a few weeks these will be arriving in the mail, putting smiles on faces. We will continue to celebrate our anniversary through to June next year, and are currently working on what other special anniversary merch items we can bring you, so please keep an eye on the forums as this is where all the announcements and juicy information is posted. We have plenty of merch slots left to fill, and some really nice ideas for different items we hope you will love. All runs will definitely have interest threads posted in advance so make sure you visit the boards monthly and remove the possibility of missing out. August is here, and we continue through the year with great attendance on our forums and chatter in our social media channels so thank you to all who participate. August brings with it the start and ramping up of CRL work. This will continue through the next several months with varying degrees of change. Some of this work is simple maintenance of existing CRL's, the rest will be considerable overhauls and also new to legion CRL creation. There will be notification and grace periods for any amendments that may effect approval on some costumes, so those working on any that do undergo treatment will have the option to run with the current version or the update. Members Database update I have been working with the LWM team (Legion Web Masters) to assist in some bulk updates to clean up our data base. I don't expect any issue to arise from this work, and it should yield some cleaner results on how many members FISD have. These updates mostly took place at the start of the month so there is only minor adjustments now left to complete the task. Something new We have been working on an Idea/project since February this year, so keep an eye out for a post requesting good quality troop photos. I shall explain more when the post goes live in the Notifications section of the forums. Thanks again to all of you for keeping our forums busy, interesting and exciting. The team look forward to bringing you as much fun, information and improvements we can over the next 6 months. Lots more to come so stayed tuned. See you on the forums. In the latest episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, an early George Lucas idea is finally paid off with familiar Ralph McQuarrie armor designs for the Empire's first Stormtroopers. In the new episode, the Bad Batch receives a request from Captain Rex to rescue the Clone Commando known as Gregor who's been held against his will on the planet Daro. While there, Clone Force 99 gets their first real look at their Imperial replacements, the recruited Stormtroopers that make up the bulk of the Empire's forces. However, their armor looks to be in an early and almost prototype stage, resembling the earliest pieces of concept art created for the first Star Wars film. In the new episode, "Project War-Mantle" is underway, and the Empire is making preparations to leave Kamino after shutting down their operations and taking their research and lead scientists. Not only that, but they've been using highly skilled clone troopers such as Gregor to train their newly recruited Stormtroopers who've enlisted from all over the galaxy to replace the clones. However, Gregor is trying to escape his new Imperial masters, which is where the Bad Batch comes in to attempt an extraction. While using unused art and ideas from Lucas for the new Stormtrooper proto-armor is pretty fun, it's not the first time showrunner Dave Filoni has integrated Mcquarrie's work, as several elements in Star Wars Rebels were directly inspired by specific pieces. For example, the series' central planet of Lothal was based on several pieces, including one that depicted Lucas' vision for the Capital City of Alderaan. Not only that, but discarded designs for R2-D2 and Chewbacca made their way to becoming the core Rebels Chopper and Zeb, both crew members of The Ghost piloted by Hera Syndulla. In any case, using Mcquarrie's work in this latest episode of Star Wars: The Bad Batch is a great nod to the past while providing a brand new chapter that aids in the transition between the Republic's fall and the Empire's rise. Furthermore, it's more than likely that these proto-armored Stormtroopers will be seen again, seeing as how the Bad Batch's Hunter was captured himself by the episode's end. As a result, it's more than likely that a new rescue mission will be staged as the new Star Wars animated series reaches its finale on Disney+ Story from Screenrant Concept Data sheet Currently (as of 5th August 2021) there are 31,911 approved costumes in the legion, out of these homed under FISD there are 5,783. Interestingly the larger the legion costume totals grows the smaller amount of TK's there are with now only 18.12% of all approved 501st costumes. Attention all Imperial citizens of the FISD We have been working on a project which has been under discussion since the start of this term and are preparing to move forward with this initiative. It will form part of our 15th anniversary celebrations and part of detachment history. We can;t announce exactly what it is as yet, but we are sure you will love it. We want your troop photos from around the world. Local troops, Cons, Celebration etc. If you are a TK and 501st approved, you can submit photos. Photos of TK's both OT and First Order, any of the costumes in our CRL to be honest. Can be a single trooper but group photos are very welcome. What you consider you best troop photos or most memorable can add more meaning to this project so select carefully. Ultimately we are after High quality or resolution photos, but for this thread, you need simply only add a lower res version using Imgur or other photo sharing 3d party services. Just make sure you have a good version to supply for the project if requested . Based on how many submission we receive, the final selection will be made by the staff. We are looking for the best and most varied photos old and new. If selected, you will receive a PM from myself or one of the staff requesting you email, share the high res version image (email will be supplied in the PM) Google doc or other sharing services can be used. What info do I need to supply with my image post? You may post as many photos as you like. Date or year the photo was taken and location. (state or country etc) Photographer name if known for each photo. Garrison/Squad/Fire team name. Photos must contain TK's predominantly, we are Stormtroopers after all. Both old and new photos are welcome, history is a great thing specially in our anniversary year and we can't wait to reveal what this is all about in the coming months. If you have any other questions, please ask in this thread to benefit others. Looking forward to seeing some awesome Troopers on assignment. One thing you have to keep in mind is that after you trim the tops and bottoms of any limb piece is that you will have to re-adjust the circumference (trim down the sides again). Otherwise, what fit perfectly before will now be too wide. Most folks leave some of the return edge on the tops of the forearms, but you can trim all of it off of the tops/bottoms of the biceps and all of it will need to be removed from the bottom of the wrist openings. How much you remove from the top of the forearm and bicep/top of the forearm is up to you and will not affect higher approvals (as long as the openings are not too large). I am not a fan of return edges in most places, as they were minimal at best in the films. I have a thread here that should answer a lot of your questions on this, as well as a few tutorials under my avatar below that may help as well. I highly suggest that you keep posting as many photos as you can, and always feel free to ask any and all questions you may have! When in doubt, post up here before cutting/gluing. Trust me. We are here to help every step of the way!1 point
