  2. Finally some time for a little progress! It's just difficult to get stuff done during the week and well...there's some new movie release this weekend. I started off working on the Ab and cod. Following @ukswrath I trimmed back a bit of the cod and curved it off. I also trimmed back some of the return edge on the sides (where the legs will go). I didn't take a before pic (I'll try to in the future) but if you look at it in the right light, you can see a small dip and I used that for my guide on the return edge. I can always trim more later if I like. Yes, that's my workbench. It's in the garage. Pardon the absolute mess around it. Lots going on. Next is the start of the trim on top. Ya got two choices (well more than two, but two real ones) to connect the chest to the ab plate as well as connecting the back pieces together. Either snap plates or brackets. Yes, brackets are more accurate, but I prefer snap plates. I did snap on my ATA and they worked fine. I've seen velcro on an Anovos build and I'll pass on that all together. I know the brackets can work great, and there are a great many troopers out there with them. But when they break, it can be a real problem. So, since I'm going with snap plates, and since this part will never be seen there's no reason for so much return edge, so I'm trimming it down by about half. Plus, on the sides, it kinda digs into me. And being the larger guy that I am, I can use all the extra room I can get. You can see the difference in width. The very top is what I've trimmed so far. The rest...not so much. Yet. But I'll get there. My plan is to trim up the torso section first and get that sized to me. Once that's done I can figure out how to situate the arms, legs, and shoulder bells. That said, I've got a troop tomorrow for Solo. Hopefully, I can get to watch the movie Sunday with one of the kids, then Deadpool on Monday with another. Somewhere in between I'll get more work done.

  3. We get to see some new variations on R1 style TKs in Solo, and shiny TKs with the Crystal Patrol pack on Corellia. Will this lead to the possibility of the pack becoming an optional accessory for this style of armor? If they do more movies/tv/other media innthis era, it looks like the R1 TK will become one of the most versitile and option loaded armors out there. Once the scenes with the new TKs get picked apart, it will be very exciting to see what will be available! Sent from my LGLS992 using Tapatalk

  4. Ok - so the 1st cuts have been made !!! I decided to start with the thermal detonator, seemed to be a good point to ease into things. End caps trimmed, cover plate trimmed - way harder than I expected to get nice stright lines, I think the ends of the cover are still a little wonky. All Glued up and waiting to dry before screwing Ukswrath's belt clips on.

  5. Great. That'll free up some room there. Not bad for a couple of hours this morning. Now I'm about to get back on it.

  6. In a nutshell, your finger. You can rub the edge to start it and carefully peel it away. If it oozes let it go. Smears can be a pain. Good advice with wider strip. Hope it works for you. Keep at it Trooper!

  7. I can't wait to see screen caps. If it's a shiny TK with a pack for sure it can be here on FISD. I'm curious if it's the exact same R1 armor or if there are any differences.

  10. Welcome back, Ilan, (and so soon)! Thank you for your Centurion application (and the plethora of detailed photos), now let's get to your approval, brother. CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All submission photos are present. Your armor displays all the required components as set out in the level 3 CRL. Tony and I would like to congratulate and welcome you to Centurion brother. Excellent work!! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: We have nothing to add here except great (and FAST) job on those fixes.. Now it's time to get out and be a shining example for the Belgian Garrison!

  12. Very nice armor! These are all the photos asked for, but I would show a picture of the outside view of the snaps on your butt plate there at the crotch. You have a nice front side picture of the crotch strap and connectors, but it is also important to see the outside of the snaps at the butt plate. (I hope this makes sense). Great eye for detail. That E-11 is a thing of beauty. I see you getting approved very soon!

  14. I just bought a replica Hengstler Kit from him and it is cast very beautifully and is totally accurate! It's just missing the 6 digit roll, his kit comes with a printed image of the 6 digits with the original release date of S.W. that goes behind the clear plastic window for the read out. That's ok though because I just bought a new in box vintage Hengstler (non-reset) with the correct digit roll to upgrade my Kit with! Roberts stuff is great!
