  4. I am grateful and proud. Because without everyone’s help here, my Centurion level TK would still be in pieces in a box.

  5. Thanks for that, Jim! I actually prefer trooping with the rubber gloves over the Nomex gloves, regardless of accuracy. I wear silk liners with them, and they are incredibly comfortable. I've trooped in 90+ degree temps with 80% humidity for 2+ hours at a time (life in the South, gotta love it...), and I've never had issues with them. So for me, ditching the rubber gloves isn't an option I'd like to consider at this point.

  6. I would say now that you have your approval is ditch the rubber gloves for trooping and get either a pair of black nomex flight gloves or you can do what I did and bought a pair of "Gorilla Grip" gloves from home depot (about $5) and affix your repaired hand guards to those. They are much more comfortable while trooping. Accuracy is awesome but comfort wins out for me every time.

  7. Yes, beautiful 3D model. Looks better than the Backstage Props to me! I'm looking forward for when the prototype will show up

  8. The design is finished, the print is done. It's on the way to me in a couple days, so I should have the first casting in about 2-3 weeks max. @The5thHorseman good tip. I had the angle changed slightly as you can see in the render to straighten the curve a little. The photos we've seen there is a very small curve but it wasn't as exaggerated as the one I had, so it was changed. Now it's too late, any changes will be post processing. I will say this, there are some details that my helmet has that no others currently on the market have. Some details that are barely visible, and some details that are not visible on any photos we have yet, but that I know through "sources" that are there. If you're interested in being one of the first owners of this helmet, send me a PM.

  9. Thank you for the feedback. This said, here is my actual Status: The front view: At the moment I didn't fix the arms to the shoulders. The biceps armor will move a little bit up so that I'm able to put my helm on without any external help :). View from the left side: I feel comfortable with it. Do anybody see something I missed? The back view: View from the right side: Here I think I have a Problem on the Back armor. It seems that it reaches a little bit outside the rest of the shape at the hips when I walk. I could add a part of an additional elastic stripe to prevent that. What do you think. Another question: Would it been allowed for 501st aprovment to set a marking on the armor like seen sometimes from other armies. I think about my ID in Aurabesh Font on the left breast or at the left shoulder bell... I've seen tha also in some Star Wars pictures but not in the Movies... Now last but not least: an action shoot: And now I realize what I've forgot... the gloves with the handguards... layed on the desc next to me. Next time I wear them.

  11. Progress update!! I have all the black under armor AND my boots!! I'm just chillin in my underarmor and boots cause, well, it's exciting. I won't make a recommendation on the UA cause it's really just a generic brand (one from amazon and one from Gander Mountain). I think it would be best to judge once it's worn in a troop. I also went to an armor party where we did major scary cuts that I would not have otherwise done on my own. The ab/cod plate was cut in half! I have a measured line where it needs to be glued/ABS pasted back together. Recent supply additions: Dremel flex shaft for more precision trimming E6000 I'm still hesistant on the return edges and how close to get. After looking at someone else's suit at the AP, it turns out I can get A LOT closer than I've been daring too. I went over most pieces and got a little closer but did not sand or straighten edges. I believe this will help size better to have less edge to fight with. Here's what we did at the armor party and my boots I just got today!! (size 5 c width haha)

  12. Update #05 - A nice find Didn’t expect to deliver another update on this blaster rack, but here is something that might be worth being shared. At work I recently came across a 19-inch cabinet, which had been sorted out. It was old and still in good condition, but had to be disposed. After taking a few measurements, I saved it from the trash compactor and brought it home. Looks like the internal design was inspired by the Death Star. As I am posting these pictures here in the Gun Rack thread, I guess most of you will already know, what this cabinet is going to be used for… To modify it for this purpose, all internal parts had to be removed. A few months passed by and it took a happy coincidence to get hands on appropriate side panels and a glass door to be added to the existing back door. The standard bi-color scheme of these cabinets was not perfect, so I checked some screen references from the Death Star to find a suitable paint. More difficult than expected, because sometimes it looks dark and in other shots (from other sets) it appears surprisingly bright, even with a bluish tone. Both, the RAL 7001 and RAL 7037 looked very interesting, but I had to decide for one. I picked the brighter color, because the cabinet is located in a place with no direct sunlight and the look changes heavily depending on the lighting. Painting already started, but I am still a bit unsure about this choice. Any comments or help on this? Have a nice weekend

  13. So, several of you have inquired about the availability of the "Evolution of a Trooper" shirts that were mentioned by Paul (Daetrin) in this edition of the Newsletter. At the time that the NL was drafted, the shirts were well on their way to production and availability. Alas, they hit a snag in the approval process, which does indeed happen from time to time. They are still being pursued for production, to continue to ensure that the Legion's Stormtroopers are dressed to impress both in costume, and out. We already make everyone else look bad as it is. May as well pour a little salt in those salty wounds. They hate us cause they ain't us. Thank you for understanding, and standby for updates please.
