  1. Hey everyone! I'm new to the 501st, but I'm an approved member of the Mandalorian Mercs so I do have some armor experience. I've got the Anovos standard line helmet and Jim's v3 kit currently headed my way in the mail. I've done a little bit of work to the helmet so far. I've added a bit of mesh under the slits, dipped the inside black, and added my wireless mic. I've also ordered some more padding to insulate the sound and an aluminum aerator from vaderpainterstudios to replace the ugly plastic one. As is custom, I'll list my supplies and where I got them as I go Armor: Jimmi's v3 kit Helmet: Anovos standard line Machined aluminum aerator: VaderPainter Studios Boots and gloves: Imperial Boots (ordered)

  6. In general, helmets are assembled all in the same manner. Here are some reference pics for ya! Shows where the rivets are installed. Holes are where the screws for the ears go. My RS helmet has some extra holes under my ears because I made adjustments after initial assembly. As long as they are covered by the ear caps, extra holes don't really matter much. I don't use the chin strap, and I haven't met anyone who does. My helmet padding is snug enough on my head that it's not necessary. That said, I'm sure that some use it and swear by it. Maybe they can chime in?

  7. Aww thanks!! I will take that advice and run with it. I was planning on doing shins > thighs > abs etc and work my way up. But that makes sense to fit the thighs between the shins and abs. I do need to order my boots which has been a major part of my delay making progress, they should be coming soon though! I read your build so thoroughly, it really made me quite confident to dive right in and cut away. It's awesome that you shared so much of both successes and failures.

  8. Just one of the many, many continuity and dressing errors in the movie. Don't look too closely or you will see white gaffer tape and cracks all over the place
